Swiftkey language pack wont install - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hello, as stated above I'm unable to install the swiftkey language pack on my Galaxy nexus
I'm running the latest version of swiftkey and the latest nightly of cyanogen (4.3)
My issue is that when I install swiftkey (installs fine) I hit the first step and it fails to install the language pack. I install the trial version and it works fine.
I have done the following to trouble shoot:
completely unisntall swiftkey
Manually remove the folder in \data\data\com.touchtype.swiftkey
tried renaming the trial folder to the above folder
changed permissions to 777 on the above folder
All fail
works fine on stock
I have also read that people are having issues with custom roms with swiftkey language pack not installing.
Is there a way I can install a debug app and see what is failing so I can resolve this my self? Swiftkey support is not helping any and none of the suggestions google returns helps.
Thanks
Ryan

working
there was another com.touchtype.swiftkey that showed up after I logged in as root, once I deleted this one, rebooted and reinstalled it started working....man, anyways swiftkey support got back to me so good for them on that.
Thanks guys

I'm experiencing somewhat similar issues (except mine comes with phone reboots after unmounting from my computer). Was the other SwiftKey folder found in the same location (/data/data)? And did you also have to remove /sdcard/Android/com.touchtype.swiftkey as well?
Thanks.

Try this:
Try this (for root):
->uninstall swiftkey
->Install root explorer,
->select r/w
->search for "swift" delete everything you find(even backups made from titanium backup),
->reboot your phone
->Install swiftkey
Worked amazingly for me

How To Update Pre-Installed Swype to Swype Beta

I never really found a proper guide on how to update the Samsung Salaxy S pre-installed Swype and after figuring out how to do it i thought i'd share it with whoever needed it.
1) To update the pre-installed Swype to Swype beta you have to have root access or else this isn't going to work
2) Download "Root App Remover" and "Root Explorer" from the android market
3) Run Root App Remover (it will take a minute for it to initially scan the phone for system and user apps)
4) Using Root App Remover go to system apps scroll down to Swype tap it and press recycle, to completely uninstall it (which you have to do) press menu then "SystemApp Recycler" and uninstall it.
5) Run Root Explorer and press the "Mount R/W" button at the top if it isn't already selected, after that to go "system" folder then the "lib" folder and delete the file "libswypecore.so" (if it isn't there then go back into system and then back again)
6) After that go into the "data" folder then the "data" folder and delete "com.android.android.inputmethod" file (if its not there then quit root explorer)
7) After that go to the Swype Beta Website and register, go through all the various steps untill you've finished downloading and installing the Swype Installer.
8) Run Swype Installer and go through all the steps, then download and install the Swype Beta, generate the license using the installer and your done the newest Swype beta is now installed one you Samsung Galaxy S
Sorry if this guide is too long i just tried to explain it in detail. I Hope this guide helped you install the newest Swype beta, if you have any questions feel free to ask i'll get back to you as soon as possible.
ENJOY SWYPING!!!
Thanks for the guide. I used Titanium to remove the old version. After a reboot the new one installed just fine
Do u find the swype 3 beta much better than what came with our phones? I'm on jsd.

Same here, Titanium worked like a charm. A one-step approach...

It seems quite a bit faster and the horizontal word choice bar is so much better than the intrusive popup list. I like it a lot more than the stock version.
Well i have just found the answer to a question i posted a while back:
What happened to BlindType?
The answer is here. Swype now incorporates many of the features that BlindType had including the movable keyboard!
Thanks, your method worked...

The easiest way:
1) Gain root
2) Install Super Manager (from Market)
3) Enable root mode on Super Manger (under Settings)
4) Delete Swype (APK-Manager -> search for swype -> long press and delete),
5) Reboot
6) Install Swype Beta

Yep, definitely worth updating to the new beta since it doesn't take much effort to uninstall the pre-installed outdated version of Swype that came with the phone anyways
Very nice, thanks
I didn't see either of the two apps you mention, but I downloaded and used "Root Uninstaller" and "Root Browser" from the Market instead, and they worked fine...just FYI. Thanks!

I would add a step for some folks -
6a) Boot into CWM recovery, clear cache, clear dalvik cache, reboot.
Without that step, my install of Swype beta would FC upon launch but after starting over and clearing the caches, I was able to install and use no problem.
Excellent.. I am able to SWYPE Now
i followed the Titanium backup root, I uninstalled using TB did not restart and ran the Swype installer and everything worked thereafter.
I installed the tablet version and in portrait mode, the keyboard is tiny although it doesn't affect swyping, is there a way to make it slightly larger?
Swype isnt Saved as standard input??? pls help
Hi, the installation worked fine, but i have to set up swype as standard input method after rebooting my device.
How can i fix that?

[Q] i have a problem with my market

so i changed my rom from sense to cayanogen mod 7.1.0
and i downloaded the gApps because its not coming with the rom automaticalyl
but after i downloaded it
i have a problem with the market.... its crashing all the time
if i go inside it it crashes after 10 seconds and i cant download anything or do anything.
i tried to flash the privious version of the gApps and its still happening
so what can i do?????
Hi,
try to delete data from the market app.
Go to settings, apps, all apps, market und clean data (don't know the exact names because I don't have an english version).
There you can delete the market and reinstall as a second solution.
Which market version is it?
Simple..You downloaded the wrong version of gapps. Get the correct one.
when i first installed the rom i installed the newest one i could fine which is:
gapps-gb-20110828-signed.zip
but then i tried to install the version:
gapps-gb-20110729-signed.zip
but its also not working
any ideas??
clear market data (data and not only cache!) in settings/applications..if still not work, go in settings/language and keyboards and set english US or UK..try
Also answer my question.
What market version?
the version is 3.3.11
and i tried that thing with changing the language to us and i think its working
tho its now changed a couple of things
like the clock to am/pm instead of 24 hour clock
Set back to your language
Open terminal emulator
Type:
su
Chmod 777 /cache
Check market works

[Q] Running Oxygen ROM, apps won't load after installing busybox and reboot

Hi guys, this is the problem I'm facing. I was running the latest oxygen rom without any problems, until I decided to install polaris office. I downloaded the docmanager apk and read that I have to push it to /system/app. Anyway, I was trying to get system to be writable and testing the mount cmd... I entered mount into the emulator and got a bunch of mounted paths. I'm not sure if that has anything to do with what happened bur anyway I then downloaded busybox installer and installed busybox.
I rebooted and next thing I know, the default oxygen launcher appears instead of the go launcher I had installed and almost all apps are not listed. I check the app manager and it shows all the other apps in their package name with a sd card sign next to them.
I am running oxygen with sdext enabled. I am guessing I did something from the emulator that messed up sdext which has most of my apps.
Can anyone tell me how I can fix this? I'm not really sure what has actually happened, but if you need me to provide more info please let me know.
BTW, I downloaded the market apk again and when I tried to install it, android rebooted. I am guessing that's cause it tried to install it on sdext.
Thanks.

Swiftkey (4.3 after app restore)

Hey all,
I was wondering, just today i flashed the factory image of 4.3, flashed a custom TW recovery and rooted with CF 1.44.
Ran TB and restored some apps, one of them is the famous Swifkey.. for some reason it starts and tries to download language files (either US or other..) and fails with Network Error) wifi turned on, i have network access all seems well, even on 3g its the same.
I tried looking on the forums and i cleared the app data, uninstalled it and reinstalled it, nothing seems to help.
Any idea?
I had that problem and then it went away. I don't remembered what I did. I think I wiped data and ran it with WiFi and it redownloaded the languages and then it worked fine.
I had the same problem.I had to go into TWRP, and start a command line in there (advanced menu, iirc). Then i deleted the swiftkey key data folder in the sdcard/Android/data folder because I couldn't find another way to remove the languagePacks.json file in there...
Then I could reinstall the app and download the language packs.

I will try the cmd from the recovery, since I too can't find the swiftkey data folder.

Update: went into recovery into file manager and deleted the swiftkey com folder in data, installed the apk again and all is well!
Thank you frank!

download failure
I tried deleting both the .json file and then separately the eng_us language file and the download still fails. think this is a problem with SwiftKey needing an update to 4.3?
edit: I used the advance/file manager in twrp to delete the com folder and it worked
Thanks everyone for this thread, was going crazy not being able to use SwiftKey on 4.3!

Reset input method using TWRP

Hi all, I have a problem.
Today I used my phone to play videogames using the Sixaxis Controller and the phone has rebooted. Now when I put my fingerprint, the device needs the password for security reasons but the keyboard not appears because the IME is set to PlayStation Joystick.
I can access to data folder using TWRP but I not know where is the file that set the input method.
I'm using a Motorola Z2 Play with Stock ROM, rooted (Android 8.0)
Any ideas?
Regards.
Well, finally I restored an old backup that I created, with this, works ok now, but anyway would be interesting know how to fix this problem manually. I'm very lucky by the backup, only updated all PlayStore apps, V4A, reinstalled Magisk and grant all root permitions and finally done. Wiping data it's terrible for me, a lot of apps, configs, files to edit, etc. It's hell.
