Relay message to beaup's rumrunner thread - Verizon HTC One (M7)

Since I am a new member, I cannot post in that thread but can someone relay the message that I was having many issues before, but once I installed PdaNet and it updated my drivers and everything, then the rumrunner program finally worked. I didn't even have to uninstall PdaNet

Problems with G1

I recently bought a g1 with android 1.6 and ive tried rooting it with z4 and universal androot and when i try to run clockwork rom manager i get " an error occured while trying to run privileged commands." All i really want to do is get wifi tethering. Can anyone help?
Have you had a look in the G1 forum to see what other people are using? If it's a 1-click method you are going for there's always SuperOneClick. I've not seen anything mentioned that rules it out and there's no harm in trying!
"Androot is not recommended for the Dream because of issues specific to the Dream and ClockworkMod Recovery"... quoted from the wiki found HERE.
THIS looks like a good guide.

Please help, trying to root a friends Incredible

OK, I am far from new to this. I have unlocked many WinMo phones and now rooted many Android phones. I have an Evo that was rooted with ADB back on 2.1 and have rooted many friends phones.
I am using UnRevoked and I have installed the HBoot Drivers. Now it says connected, then Pushing Recovery, then stays there forever. I even let it stay connected overnight saying that, I woke up the next morning with the same screen, it isnt doing anything. Is there a different, better method??
UnrEVOked is the 'best' method.

It will have the answers for ya.
Have you installed the usb drivers, back in the day that gave me the biggest issue.
Sent from my Redeemed Incredible using the XDA App.
after reading literally thousands of posts about unrevoked and finding that most issues turn out to be simple fixes or retries, and having used it myself w no issues, this is probably the most supported and used way to root...the gold standard...not to say there arent weird curcumstances it might not work... But its a total work horse ...if you have the skills to hack the hack im sure you could use the exploit and manhandle it... I usually type something wrong, disconnect at the wrong time, or execute "doooh!" Moments, and with the swiftness....after making sure the drivers are right, give the autopilot of unrevoked another go...its really the way too do it....

If all else fails, if you know someone with a Mac computer that version of Unrevoked is simplified and you do not need to install drivers. Simply download unrevoked and root.
A friend of mine helped me root my Inc using the Mac version and it was a quick process. I have no idea how the driver/pc version of Unrevoked works as it has steps that Mac users do not need in order to root. I've been rooted for about a month with no issues yet.

cant install g2 driver. no sdk no GB root? HELP

I have a new g2 with gingerbread stock and i wand to root it.
I found that visionsary doesnt work and i need to install ADB to use the other ways to root.
I cant seem to figure out how to get my --G2-- to link up with my computer.
I tried all the links for the "HTC sync" for it but they are for the UK desire z and do not work.
If i search HTC's website there are no drivers or htc sync for the G2
This is why i used visionary to root my old one. The sdk is always buggy for me ive tried it on a few different computers and never had luck.
The only time it worked was with the cliq like 4 years ago.
------------------------------------------------------------------
-Does anybody have a way to do it?

i tried about 5 different write ups from the how-to section.
Even the installing for noobs with the auto install package.
any help would be nice. I have to fight my phone for everything with this spyware stock rom on my phone.
Did you try the wiki?
yes i did.
I found a link for a driver that worked.
Someone should add it to the wiki.

fairly smooth once i figured that out. Usually i cant even get sdk to install on my computers.
Just my really old computer (which has been taken out and shot since) that i used with the cliq. i think cyanogen was just starting back then.

Verizon LG G3 Lost root, can't get it back.

Edit: Wow I'm really new...it was because I hadn't updated SuperSU binary and had disabled it alltogether. How do I delete a post
I'm sorry if this has already been answered but I just can't find a solution anywhere so I'm creating a new thread.
I rooted my Verizon LG G3 around oct/nov 2014 and installed CloudyG3 1.1
I wanted to try a new rom and found out that I no longer have root access.
This confuses me because I have not accepted or tried to install any OTAs, the only thing I've done is update the SuperSU kernel, I'm not sure if that does anything.
I tried using stump root but it said phone has been patched, sorry.
Someone said I could use purpledrake but that says it doesn't work with Verizon, I haven't tried it yet, though.
(an aside: It's hard to wade through old forum posts looking for solutions to issues because they are twenty pages long and the majority of posts do not add to the discussion and just say "I'm having this problem as well". Is there a way to mute these posts or filter posts by helpfulness rating? Is there a way to bump a thread without posting?)

Need help re-rooting my M8

I promise, I tried to do it myself by looking at some guides on here, but all the links are broken, there are mod addendums and warnings on some of the threads, and htcdev won't even let me log in! I reset my password and immediately entered the one they sent to me and it said incorrect login! Also powershell isn't working with adb services(term 'adb' is not recognized) and the HTC sync software is no longer available for download... not sure what to do!
I currently have a Pixel 3, but my last two phones were HTC phones. The M8(t-mobile) and the 10(sprint/unlocked). I used guides on this forum to root them both. However, I ended up giving the M8 to my sister when I got the 10. I relocked the bootloader so it could be stock again.
The status is "relocked." I want to use the old phones to tether wifi to two old computers that have no wifi connectivity. My HTC 10 does it perfectly, but it is an unlocked model and is still rooted. Back when I got the M8, carriers were very stingy about that kind of stuff, so it is not possible by default. I have seen a few ways to allow the phone to tether from wifi to usb, but they require root.
And now I am here... a couple hours trying to do something that I did once years ago pretty easily, but with a bunch of broken links and services.
Any help is greatly appreciated, I really don't want to pay and then wait for a wifi adapter.
Thanks
