Okay so I've gotten myself into a bit of a mess and back out again. (I think)
I unlocked my Rogers E971 and made a backup with cwm.
Then I attempted to install CM10.1 from here.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2031261
I did a factory restore and attempted to boot. BIG FAIL. Nothing Happens. Thought I was bricked!
I was able to open CWM to use my backup but BADCHECKSUM came up.
I was able to sideload http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2098777 and I think I'm safe.
However I would like to be able to use CM10.1 or any of the other roms.
Can anyone confirm that I am able to with 4.0.4 E9710E?
Can I flash back to E9710D?
I believe you have to flash the CM10.1 from E97110d
sent from my LG Optimus G E971 CM10.1 & Asus Nexus 7 PA3.0
So then I could use the Unbrick method here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2010624
to format back to E97110D? If I can acquire the kdz that is?
Before I get to the point let me explain what happened. I attempted to root my S3. It did work up until I got to the point where I was ready to flash a ROM and it didn't work. I received the "status 7" error on CWM and I receive an error on TWRP that means the same thing. So what I did since I couldn't restore from a backup that I would get bootloops from, I attempted to install a ROM that was .tar or md5.tar through ODIN which only worked for original firmware (given in the screenshot). I have managed to install this ROM on my phone through TWRP but unfortunately it is for TMobile and somehow my AT&T service works on it. Here is a screenshot of the phone. I have tried flashing "aokp_task650_d2lte_kitkat_6.3.2014" that is made for the AT&T S3 but no matter what I try to flash it will not flash. I have already tried doing the "ASSERTS" method but it did not work. Can someone please help me fix this issue??? :/

The hybrid firmware thing shouldn't really happen but for some reason, cross flashing between T999 (T-Mobile) & i747 (AT&T) sometimes happens without necessarily causing a brick. I would suggest you do a complete stock restore to AT&T 4.3JB firmware (UCUEMJB). Thereafter, you can go back to flashing your preferred custom ROM. Since you appear to be able to get to TWRP, you can first, from custom recovery, remove all existing firmware including OS and then reinstall the stock firmware. It appears the bootloader is still UCUEMJB so flashing AT&T stock firmware shouldn't be a problem. Please see the thread below for 4.3 stock restore...

So in this case, I just flash everything that it gives me correct? Is the stock ROM still rooted? If it is not then what rooting process do you suggest I go through? If it is a rooted ROM. Then do you recommend I unroot it and root it again or take some other alternative method? I really appreciate your help

It's a complete stock image which will take you to as near factory condition as you can get. This means it is unrooted. You would need to re-root after (successful) firmware installation. Prior to flashing the firmware, please remember to use custom recovery to remove all existing firmware including OS. Once you've restored the firmware, there are several ways to root but my preferred method is SafeRoot. You can find the download links and instructions to SafeRoot in the thread below ...

You can also try Option 2 in the thread below ...

I am running 4.4.2 on my S3 (AOKP Task650) but unfortunately I am receiving some battery drain. Is there a Kernel I could use to prevent this and save more battery? Which Kernel do you recommend most? Also I am having issues with my Data. I get "E" for edge in a 4G LTE area? Is there a radio that I can flash or APN for this to fix that problem?

right?
sorry last time i tried to flash task650 rom, i got errors concerning the bootloader, went back to CM11 which has been my go-to-go rom and everything works fine, after you respond i will flash and get back to you on the network issues
thanks
I bought a SGH-i747 Unlocked for use with MetroPOS. All I wanted was to have it hotspot and for the svoice to speak with a UK English accent which it didn't come with. While attempting to force update to hopefully have these problems fixed I ended up boot looping. To temporary fix to use my phone I tried installing CM Rom to no avail. Even thogh the model is ATT and the boot screen was att, it said it only works with d2spr. Currently I'm running MUI which was the only one I could get to work. Can anybody link me to restore to my stock 4.2.2 because odin fails and roms don't seem to work unless they are a specific type of d2spr?
You need ROMs for the d2lte if you have an i747. The d2spr is the cdma sprint version of the s3 .
What error are you getting in Odin? What was the last i747 bootloader on your phone?
You will have to flash a odin file to go back to stock, what odin version are you using and what are you flashing? You won't be able to flash any d2sprt because of the boot partition alone(different kernel).
Hello everyone,
Last week I flashed CM12 onto my G3, I have TWRP installed as my recovery.
I may have to send my G3 in for repair and if so plan to use the LG Flash tools to do so. I am worried that by doing so I will lose my EFS and modem. I flashed just the CM12 rom and Gapps, so would the stock modem and EFS still be the same as before I flashed CM12? I can currently backup both using TWRP, but will this modem and EFS be correct for my application of restoring back to stock?
Thanks to anyone who helps!

Hi there.
Your EFS never changes it does not matter which ROM you flash. Before you bring the phone back to stock with LG FlashTool please backup your EFS with TWRP!!!
Secondly, if you haven't flashed any other modem (I assume you were already on Lollipop before flashing CM12) then the modem is the same as stock. Please backup that also with TWRP!!!
Save both the EFS and modem on EXTERNAL MicroSD card or better transfer to a computer.
Lastly is that you must choose the right KDZ or TOT+DLL file for you phone!!!!!! When you bring back to stock anyway, both the EFS and the necessary modem will be included when flashing with LG FlashTool.
Have a look here and search more help http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2785089
Hope this helps you and if I did please press the thanks button.
Hi all
A friend of mine has a Note 8.0 3G (n5100) and in the process of rooting and installing a custom ROM he somehow found himself unable to flash a 5100 ROM via CWM. He then tried a 5110 ROM and it worked, but he's now basically got a WiFi tablet because he's lost all phone/3G functionality.
I haven't been able to look at his device because I'm overseas, but I suspect he needs to get right back to basics and flash a new bootloader, kernel and ROM via ODIN (he can't flash any 5100 kernel/ROM via CWM).
Is my diagnosis correct, and if so can someone point me in the direction of a set of ODIN-flashable files that will undo his mess-up? I don't have a Note myself so I don't have a repository of files for one...
Thanks!
Anyone able to point me in the right direction?
Depends on what he flashed. If he flashed a kit kat rom, he will have to stay with a kit kat rom. KK have locked bootloaders, once flashed there's no going back to JB.
Odin needs a .tar file , while cwm needs a zip. This could be part of the problem. Wrong file format.

He doesn't mind whether he ends up with KK/KB/LP, it's more about trying to get his phone to think it's an N5100 again - at present it thinks it's a 5110 so it's lost phone/3G functionality. So I'm really just trying to work out what order I need to flash things in to restore normal functionality...
