Hi. As you guys all know, 3.4 kernel for Galaxy Nesux has just been dream when anarkia left us.
However, there is one Korean Guy who kept developing that kernel to make it better.
Yeah, it's performance is amazing, just amazing but the problem is that it keep freezing.
I hope that there's someone who can make this kernel better for all galaxy nexus users all over the world.
PLEASE HELP, WE ARE WAITING FOR SOMEONE WHO CAN FIX PROBLEMS OF THIS KERNEL

post a link to the original place where he posted this exp version of the kernel, he might have posted the source code there !

Looks amazing

Chill out, guys. It's just mix between 3.0.x and 3.4.x kernel - not proper new branch.

Which of them is best is matter of preference. Each person will appreciate something different about any ROM, so the best advice is try all of them and pick which is best for you. At present they are all based on Arco's CM9, and I prefer that.

Oh, okay.. I prefer to choose a ROM that's not much of bugs, could you suggest me which ROM?
Because when I read each of ICS ROM thread comment's it's confusing me to choose which is almost stable ROM because of the bugs
By the way thanks for answering
wrong section dude! you should ask in general section. not in development. btw, all others ICS rom will be updated according to arco cm9
I would pick CM9, its since the others just use CM9 as a base while the others are great I find using the pure CM9 much better.
No bugs? Go back to gingerbread. No ICS can give you that yet. Please do know that ICS development for Galaxy Wonder is still on alpha stage. And also post appropriately. This is development section.
Sorry I'm new on creating thread
And I don't mean with no bug, I said with not plenty of bugs
Okay thanks for the answers guys, just asking, sorry for posting in a wrong section

yeah. pure CM9 is better. I have once tried Paranoid, it was pretty good too. it is more customizable than pure CM9 (I think you knew it). Im currently using CM9 build 6 which is pretty stable. the other ROM are based on CM9 build 5 anyway. so, you know the rule, build 6 is better than build 5 (literally), but in some case, it upside down. just flash any ROM. you will find your own answer.

Forgive a noob question, but...
what do you guys meanwE with "pure" CM9? Do you mean the CM9 as being developed by arco, or is there another source for CM9 on W?

Galaxy Nexus Kernel?

Hey guys,
recently rooted my phone (for the first time) and flashed CM10. I've been reading about Kernels and how they can improve battery life and performance and stuff.
I haven't really understood how a kernel would work. Can I just flash it like how I flashed a ROM? Would it 'delete' my earlier CM10 kernel?
Which kernels are compatible with CM10? Which is the best for battery life and snappiness of the processor?
I've heard of Lean,PopcornKernal, and of course, francos.
Thanks,
Sahil
All of them are good. There isn't a best kernel. You should really stay away from asking those questions. And if you don't tune the kernel there is no way to get any difference than from stock.
Sent From My Toro+ via RED Tapatalk
Im not sure if cm10 requires its own set of kernels but my phone liked the air kernel (ran cooler) and lean (as a bonus removed the purply tint at lower brightness)

depends on the kernel, on the device and on the user.
mpu/core/iva voltages, smartreflex and color control are a few examples.

kernels are like the engine to a car/rom. They're pretty much what manages and drives everything, whereas the rom is like the entire OS.
Every ROM comes with a kernel by default but it can be replaced simply by flashing a kernel on top of it. Conversely, flashing a rom will replace whatever kernel you're running now with the rom's kernel.

Many kernels come with their apps (which can be found in their threads), or some apps might have access to some properties. Also, some roms (cm comes to mind) have access to some properties of some kernels, though there was a recent fuss made about incompatibility so its not perfect.
Franco Kernel
Hey guys! I want to root my GN and I'm a bit confused about what Kernel use...
I have seen this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1367341
Did anyone try the newest version of Franco Kernel (r292)? What's about stability, battery drains, lags... ?
I'd recommend trying Franco's kernel out, it is supported by a nice updater app that can auto-flash the kernel and keep you informed of updates. Doing a bit of research yourself is also always recommended here - this site is for learning about your device. Good luck!
James bond kernal claims to be best in battry life , bt acc. To me trinity alpha 67 with setcpu profiles provide best results.

A Couple Questions From A New GNexus Owner

Hey Guys! Coming here from my SGS II actually haha. I just like the feel of this phone better!
So I had a few questions to start off with.
This one is solely based on whoever may be reading this's opinion. Which kernel do you feel atm gives you a fair balance of smooth performance and good battery life (and hopefully no heat issues).
The second question is kind of two questions. Does the Toroplus get CM10 nightly's yet? It seems that theres alot of kang's with cherry picks which i guess are coming from toro? And does anyone know if pete plans to give us toroplus users some JB bugless-beast awesomeness?
Thanks for taking the time to read

I'm using MinCo which is optimized for Franco Kernel. And obviously Franco Kernel. So far smoothest and most stable ROM I have used.

Is customization what you want? Or just smooth and stable rom?
If customization, I would recommend poking around sprint Gnex dev forum. A lot of good and customizable roms there!
If smooth and stable, just stock. Really. Jelly bean is only android version that I wouldn't be disappointed even with Stock rom and kernel.
Overall, I would recommend d you to use stock for awhile and then if you're not happy with it, try popular custom roms.
Have a nice day and welcome!

ICS & JB roms for galaxy W

hello friends
i wanna buy this galaxy w phone. so i wnated to know that is there compelete (or almost compelet) ics and jb roms for this phone?
as i know there is no official update from samsung.
cm9 or cm10.1 or aosp ics and jb?
tnx
Yup, CM10 and CM9 are stable and not further developed. CM10.1 will be developed for a couple of weeks and then it will be End Of Life too.
Our dev is going to buy a new phone so he'll stop developing for Galaxy W.
Enjoy

Cm9 is stable and fast, also it has a good battery life. Cm 10 in my opinion si no so stable, but maybe gives you more performance. Both these two roms were developed by arco, and now they arrived to the end of life release. However there are many other roms based on cm9 and cm10 that are actually well manteined and updated.
Cm10.1 si not so stable, but it is supported for a few weeks, it receives updates for stability and better battery life. There are many other ROMs based on these one, band I think si the most powerful rom for our galaxy W.
Yes, there are a lot of roms available here that give good speed to your phone. Just read the latest comments first to see if there are bugs in the presented rom.
Im new with Galaxy W, and actually im on S4 look and feel ROM, from develop forum. Its very fast and stable.

[Discussion][Kernel] Amperific SuperKANG Project

Hi guys! I don't think you've heard of me. I'm just another kernel dev from another forums. I've been developing kernels in XDA for about a year now. Anyways, getting on with it, ASKP started from galaxy nexus initially. And now, we've been making a huge success to the device itself as majority of the users run ASKP. But instead of bragging, I rather show it.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=46390201
If you look around that forum, most kernels are based on ASKP.
Okay. So. Why am I here? To bring ASKP to your device. The optimus G. Why? For a complete idiotic friend.
Joking.
Anyways, please feel free to drop a post here regarding any issues kernel developers are having right now or, what you want to see in ASKP.
Cheers
Amperific.

Thanx for your offer, i hope a few kernel devs will accept. Would love to see a ASKP kernel for E975.

we would love to see many options of kernel on stock and on custom roms

If you just want to port your mako kernel, all you have to do is cherry-pick https://github.com/xboxfanj/kernel_msm/commit/8767da2ee3154956922e0248ea164f1dc14aead7 and fix any conflicts and then remake the defconfig (make gee_defconfig, mv .config arch/arm/configs/gee_defconfig and then copy any changes you did for mako).
Let me know if you need any help.
