Well guys,
I downloaded the OTA 4.2.2 update ASIA WWE,
my phone was rooted so i first tried formatting the system and installing the update from CWM but it failed,
so i relocked bootloader, extracted the firmware.zip and flashed it using adb, and my update was installed...
but what i noticed was that now many apps from the ics stock rom were missing... there are ony a few apps in the drawer, no built-in wallpapers, no power menu (phone simply reboots on pressing and holding power button) , only google account can be added etc... just wanted to ask if thisis normal? or i have to flash ruu for 4.1.1?

used the command you told
4.19.707.3
i tried to download the ruu file thrice... once using IE once usinf chrome and once using IDE
everytime the download does not complete but the browser shows complete :/
What ruu from where ......link ? The 4.1.1 ruu (3.14.707) will not work because you upgraded the bootloader.
You need a stock backup !

Any one in this form: x.xx.401.xx
The 401 is the part that differs with different cid's.
Hi guys n gals!
I need help lol.
I want to send in my phone for repair under warranty so I'm trying to unroot, as you do...
The problem I'm having is finding the right files, RUU and also the right version to go with the right kernel. Also which order to do things.
I have been looking at a lot of tutorials and posts, a lot of which have dead links to the files they refer to.
My CID is HTC_001. So I believe I need to have the RUU with 401 in the version no. I have located this file RUU_Endeavor_U_ICS_40_S_HTC_Europe_2.17.401.2_Radio_2.1204.135.20_release_274900_signed.exe which seems to be available.
My hboot is 1.39 and I'm not sure how this affects things?
I'm currently running venom x version 4.0.7 with stock kernel.
I don't want to take up a lot of anyone's time, but just to let me know what the right files are and if available, where to get them.
Thanks a million.
Actually this is a newer version from the same place RUU_Endeavor_U_JB_45_S_HTC_Europe_3.14.401.31_R_Radio_5.1204.162.29_release_302015_signed.exe
Would this be a better option?

Thanks, I'm downloading it now. Is there anything else I need to be careful with? Like which stock recovery do I need?
And as for re-locking the bootloader, that has to be done last right?
To run an ruu you need locked or relocked bootloader.
Fastboot oem lock
Once you dl the ruu put the phone in fastboot usb and right click the .exe run it as administrator. Let the ruu to complete and you are back on stock.

My HOX is with bootloader unlocked and unrooted. Today, i flash a rom from ARHD for unrooted devices. After reboot the phone got stuck at the image with htc and quitly brilliant. I tried to flash a ruu but devices not comunicate with pc. Can you help me pls?
If you flashed a custom Rom you have also to flash the boot.img inside the zip through fastboot otherwise won't work...if can't communicate then install latest HTC driver and before uninstall the old ones

hi, sorry I couldn't reply earlier, I was at work. All looks fine to me, I would suggest a full wipe from recovery. enter recovery and format everything 1 by 1 ( system, cache, data and sd/card) so there is nothing at all on your phone.
Then mount storage in recovery and copy over a rom and gapps. install the rom and then gapps, then flash the boot image from the rom in fastboot then do "fastboot erase cache" and reboot. If it doesn't work, start the steps again but use a different rom. always remember to do a FULL WIPE between roms
Hi I installed cm 10.2 correctly step by step but still stuck on bootloader. i did fastboot flash boot boot.img from fastboot and also erase cache in fastboot also did a full wipe but still nothing

Yes, you can try, but be aware that 10.2 hasn't have a stable release yet for our beloved hox.
Btw. just read somewhere that the .600 has to be read like:
Code:
3.14.401.600 = 3.14.401.6
3.14.401.31 = 3.14.401.31
You should be able to flash the RUU of 3.14.401.31 via executable.
But you need to flash stock recovery and re-lock.

Strange, cause HTC__203 is a (HTC-FRA) European WWE device, and your version main is also 3.14.401.*
Are you sure you have flashed the stock firmware and re-locked your device?
Remove android secure and data from your sd and reboot, I've had cm boot loop a few times because oh that even after a full wipe.

Hey! I screwed up my root on my One X and now I am trying to apply an RUU update.
I downloaded the latest one I could find on androidruu.com
When it was about halfway done it aborted automatically and I got this message:

Please get the correct ROM Update Utility and try again.
My current version is 4.18.771.4 and it wanted to update/downgrade to 3.14.401.31 which is nowhere near my current version so the RUU must be wrong?
It said it was released 2013-01-30 15:48:53 and that's the latest one on that website, maybe there are other websites with more recent RUUs?

My current version is 4.18.771.4 and it wanted to update/downgrade to 3.14.401.31 which is nowhere near my current version so the RUU must be wrong?
It said it was released 2013-01-30 15:48:53 and that's the latest one on that website, maybe there are other websites with more recent RUUs?
Here is also my "getvar" info

The problem is that I can not boot into OS.
I am stuck on the Cyanogenmod boot logo.
I don't know what went wrong, I unlocked the device and flashed with TWRP.
Then I got the problem where the touch did not work so I had to flash an older version of TWRP which fixed that.
Then I flashed my Cyanogenmod ROM and wiped both the dalvik and regular cache.
When I tried to boot it just stuck on the boot logo.
I tried to wipe the data but I managed to somehow mix up two different wipe options and obviously I wiped both the backup and everything on my sdcard. I'm screwed...
I used the adb tool to push over Cyanogenmod to TWRP and flashed the ROM ones again to see if that might fix the problem.
I still couldn't boot into OS and so I tried to follow Cyanogenmod's guide on how to root One X.
I flashed the recovery with Clockwork recovery and everything went fine until I try to flash a ROM from Clockwork recovery... I can't mount my sdcard?!?!
I tried to flash back to TWRP but when I try to boot into recovery from bootloader it just reboots back into HBOOT...
So now here I sit and think how much life sucks.
I never see you mentioning flashing the boot.img from CM ?
But if you start to flash this recovery
https://www.dropbox.com/s/yqzlpqo8illa53j/Philz recovery 5.15.9.img
It has touch and you can also mount the sdcard

Okay so I managed to flash PhilZ Touch 5, now you say I should flash boot.img, is that the file inside the cyanogenmod zip or is it a separate download?
I got everything to work, I flashed the boot.img and I am now a happy owner of a rooted One X
Thanks for your help! Cred to Mr Hofs!
Nice !
