I just recently bought the Note 3 and I came from the Samsung Galaxy S4. I read from http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2324384 that this person had an issue coming from iphone to s4. there wasn't much of an answer there.
Is anyone else receiving this problem? Randomly, I was also unable to make outgoing calls.
just went to the t-mobile store and exchanged for another one. it still does the same thing. No calls and no texts in different times.

Ok this was a blast from the past for me last night, I remember this happening on my Mogul. My evo was lying on the counter charging, the phone rang and while it was still ringing I could clearly hear the person calling talking to someone else with them before I even picked up the phone to answer it.
Does it still count against your minutes if you don't answer the phone?
I was thinking about if this was possible a couple weeks ago, I don't see why it wouldn't be, just have to activate their mic when they call.
This happened all the time on my touch pro 2 with energy rom glad no one was talking crap before I picked up.

That's actually kind of cool - I wonder if someone can build an app that would do this intentionally.
It's not actually that cool. This happens to me. It's quite annoying when the phone is on silent or vibrate and I'm in a meeting at work and get a call and all of a sudden you can hear people talking. Not good.
I've narrowed this down in my case to it being an issue with receiving calls from the AT&T mobile network. All the calls I've received that do this are from AT&T users or Net 10 users (which are using the AT&T network). No issues with calls from other Sprint users, Verizon, etc. As of now, Sprint hasn't been able to offer a fix.
Anyone else had this problem? Any resolution?
Oh, and I have an Evo. Bought it on launch day from Radio Shack.
I have this problem too, I guess I have to send the phone to RMA. Tried with different ROMS (official), still the same.
Well, I have flashed the 3.14 ROM official WWE and seems the problem is gone now. Check it please and reply .
Hello,
My Carrier is AT&T and I have a New Note 2, also we have LTE enabled in our area. Let me explain... When I make a Phone Call and bring up the keypad and dial the number then tab the "Green Dial Key", I have noticed a very annoying delay until the number dialed starts to ring. I would venture to say its up to a 20 second delay, the phone issues a Ascending "Toodle doodle doo" and then rings. Descending tones when you disconnect- I assume the tones are normal. But the delays to getting a number to ring is something Ive never experienced before.
My son got a Samsung S3 at the same time I got the Note 2 and he has the same problem with Dialing Phone #'s and delays to the number "Actually Ringing". The Problem is AFTER yo dial the number and tab the green Call Soft Key. (We have a family plan on AT&T)
I posted on Android Central and several Ops answered stating they have a similar problem, with no answers.
I made a Call to AT&T, Technical Services and as in Past, famous words, " Never heard of that before"
Hope someone here can give a better explanation or better yet an Answer.
Also have a Quick side question. "Does the Galaxy Note 2 AT&T support 802.11ac Wireless Routers?"
Thank you in Advance!

Sorry I can't help with your first problem but I can tell you that the note 2 is not compatible with 802.11ac.

I have the same issue with two Galaxy Notes II, I noticed there is a long delay before the number dialed starts to ring. The delay is about 5-10 seconds. I went to an AT&T store and they replaced one of the phones for me because I was under the 14-day return policy but I am still having the same issue with the new Note II.
I live in Michigan.
Same issue on the S3. Root and install a custom rom and you won't have the issue. It seems like it has to do with the AT&T phone book.

Does the issue happen everywhere or just when you are home? For me it only happens in a 5 mile radius of my house but if I travel outside my city all calls are fine. I've switched two S3's and two Note2's and on my third Note2 and finally realizing after calling AT&T every other day for a month I finally realized it was because my cell reception runs from the floor so I need to buy a micro cell tower. Not sure if my story and experience helps but the issues sounds exactly like mine.
I had this issue with my Samsung Infuse...

Had the same problem. Still do actually after getting an upgrade to the note 2 from the s3. I noticed that the phone disconnects from the mobile data before you can get the phone to ring. . My data then wouldnt turn back on 75% of the time and the phone would have to be rebooted .
Hi.
I've got my S9 a week ago and I'm quite disappointed with the problems I'm having when I make or receive phone calls.
I would say that easily 60 or 70% of those calls I had problems in the middle of them because I couldn't ear the other party, although I could be heard.
Does anyone had similares issues?
Any solution to solve them?

I have reports from 2 users who have calls that drop for 3-4 seconds and the reconnect on a regular basis. Vodafone UK. Tried new SIM but that has not fixed it.
No issues with TMo in Fl.
Same problem. Dual sim version. When on a call the line goes silent for 4 or 5 seconds! Using a Three and Vodafone sim in the UK.
No problems so far using it with TMO in Puerto Rico.

i think there is a network stability issue with my phone. i have to reboot it 4-5 times a day and my old zte zmax pro gets a better signal then my s9 and that dont seem right. something is preventing it from sending and receiving a good signal even tho i have 4 bars.

Report it to samsung the more that report the issue the sooner it should get fixed
On a portuguese forum, several people reported the same problem I have.
During a call, the phone stops transmitting any sound for the other party for about 10 seconds...
People listen to me perfectly during that time, but I cannot ear anything. After those seconds, the phone call gets normal...
It's driving me mad!
Can confirm the above comment, a ton of portuguese people are complaining about this
s9+ call issue
my s9+ have call issue during the call too . (dual sim)
Samsung S9 problems during calls
Had my S9 64GB since 3rd march in the UK on EE and I have the same problem with periods of silence during calls, it is driving me mad as well. I have done the contact us on the phone where you upload a system log as soon as the fault occurs but so far I have had nothing back from Samsung regarding this issue. I also had a problem initially with the fingerprint sensor where it kept locking out but since I disabled the fingerprint gestures on the phone that seems to work fine now for lock screen.
I think the problem was reported also on Pocketnow Daily.
PS: I don't have this problem.

Same here with dual sim in Spain (tried with different sim from different companies).
Drop calls or simple silence
Got the Samsung galaxy s9 for the last 2 weeks intermittent problems with calls. When making calls for the first 20secs it just goes silent the other person can hear me but I cannot hear them. Sometimes this also happens mid call too, whereby after about 5 mins or so... It goes completely silent for 30secs and eventually either cuts me off or the call returns... Called Samsung UK not much help, obviously there is a fault somewhere , but for now Samsung are hiding.

It’s nothing todo with volte as my handset didn’t have it enabled
Had the same problem with my S9 dual sim. Tried just using a single sim but problem persists. I contacted Samsung who were less than helpful. Denied they have any reports of this issue even though I told them about online forums reporting same issue. I have sent my phone back to Samsung who will send me a new replacement once they receive my phone back for inspection. I'm now worried that even a new S9 will have the exact same issue.
I'd rather Samsung just say they are aware of the issue and are working on a fix. It bugs me when they act like there's no issue. They wanted me to factory reset the phone to which I told them I'd only had the phone a week and spent a whole day setting.
Just gotta wait for the replacement phone now and hope they fix with a software update. They did offer a refund but I really want the phone (if I can make calls on it that is!)
The same issue with my 2 s9 plus phones. One sim version, Israel. Just hope that the problem is with soft and gonna be fixed with next update.
Today I went into a Samsung official suport centre and I was told exactly the same...they do not have any knowledge of problems regarding phone calls and S9.
They ran a series of tests concerning the phone's sensors and the test resulted that everything seemed OK.
But...it's not!
And I'm mad about this. Honestly I do not know if this is simply a software issue...
Ffs sake I've only used the phone for calls twice and both times the call just ended and I had to ring them back.
Hi, I made an account on this after being pointed to this forum. Don't really know too much when it comes to phones so was hoping I can be pointed in the right direction!
I bought an unlocked Samsung Galaxy Note 4 earlier this year, it seems to originally have been an At&t phone. The model number is SM-N910A. I have a T-mobile sim in it. It picks up the network but often loses it so my phone quality can get really really bad even though I should be having service. When someone calls sometimes it will come through, but most of the time I just get a voicemail and it doesn't ring at all. It also takes a long time to start a call when I am dialing out.
I took my phone to the T-mobile store because I was hoping it was the sim card, I got a new sim but the issues are still there so it's definitely the phone.
Is there a way to resolve this? I really love the phone otherwise. I can send and receive texts and use the wifi, but having trouble receiving calls and dialing out and call quality. I was linked to these threads https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/help/help-updating-att-branded-note4-tmobile-t3622466 and https://forum.xda-developers.com/note-4-att/general/marshmellow-att-server-link-installation-t3407308 Just want to make sure this is the right step to take or if there's another fix to check out?
Thank you so much!
I have had my Galaxy Watch paired with my stock standard Galaxy S7 Edge phone for around 1 month now and I've noticed I never get a notification/vibration when an incoming Whatsapp call is ringing on my phone. The same goes for Skype calls. Instead, my watch just notifies me I've just missed the call after the caller gives up.
Normal telephone calls work as you would expect.
This was never a problem for me with the previous Samsung smartwatches I've owned.
I took both devices to Samsung in Hamburg and they couldn't help me at all... The manufacturer of both devices are clueless and sent me away with no way of fixing it.
Anyone here able to help?
