Bootloop trouble! - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note 3

Used CWM to install a ROM. Unfortunately it's stuck on a bootloop...any help? Not sure what other information I need to put out here.
*edit* Solution was using TWRP instead. Not sure if everyone will have the same issue, but if CWM isn't working for you just switch over.

TWRP problems

Okay so for starters you can switch out a T999 motherboard for a T999L and get LTE. So I did this and I rooted and ROM'd the new mobo and I put on the T999 TWRP (DocHoliday77 said it would be fine in his Galaxy s3 LTE thread) and it shows absolutely nothing. I can see folders in the root of the device but if I look and any of the folders nothing is inside them. And when I reboot it says no OS installed. CWM touch works fine but I prefer TWRP. Any ideas?
You probably need to flash a rom or firmware.
To see files in /system in recovery you first hsve to mount system.
I'm already running the latest snapshot of CM11 right now. And I can't mount anything. If I go to the mount menu of TWRP and press anything, it just freezes and I have to go back to the main menu. If I try to fix permissions it says "unable to mount (everything)." Why does CWM work and TWRP doesn't? And why can't I get TWRP to mount?
What version of TWRP are you trying? What version of CWM?
2.7.1.0 for TWRP and 6.0.4.5 for CWM
Not sure then. Usually its none, or both thst have that problem. It has to do with the devices hardware revision if im not mistaken. They solved this problem in the Sprint forums and I am hoping to use their info to do the same here. Just gotta find the time!
I prefer TWRP as well, but my best advice is to just stick with cwm gor now until we can figure this all out.
Were you able to flash a rom or firmware and get it to boot?
Now that I think of it, you might want to Odin flash the stock or root66 firmware and try TWRP again after that. You never know....
CyanogenMod 11 is running fine right now with no problems (no major bugs at least). As for Odining back to stock that would take hours for me. It takes well over an hour and a half just do d/l the CM ROM. I'll just stick to CWM for now i guess. Maybe i'll find a fix or somthing that will make it work. Thanks Doc :good:
If you decide to give it a try, download from my firmware thread. itll be faster than sammobile or other firmware sites.
So I went back to stock with the root66 fw and I did it all over again and its still not working. The CWM version works and I'm back on CyanogenMod, but TWRP is still not working. Could it be because I have BOOTLOADER RP SWREV 1 or Qualcomm secureboot enabled?
I dont believe so. My best guess is its the hw version of your device. Like I mentioned before, they ran into similar problems in the Sprint forums. CWM may have already incorporated the fix and TWRP may not have.
If thats not the case then im really not sure what else it could ben
I guess I'll take a look at the Sprint forums and see any contacting the TWRP team.
Just thought I'd post and say that TWRP 2.8.0.0 did not fix the issue. *sad face*
There's another recovery I think I forgot about before. Look for Philz cwm recovery. Its a modified cwm, but a lot of people who had trouble with cwm or twrp found philz worked fine.
Sorry youre having so much trouble still...

question i want to make a flashable update zip help please

I have the Verizon lg g3 and since we don't have a custom recovery yet I like to make a update zip that I can flash using the stock recovery I'm able to make a twrp or cwm backup using an app from the playstore and I'd like to turn that backup into a flashable update zip
I tried several different tutorials but when flashing I get a signing error so can someone either point me in the right direction or post an empty update zip that I could just put the backup in if that's possible
The reason I'm looking to do this is I want to do some more tinkering with the ROM but I'm tired if having to use the tot method when something goes wrong and I'm stuck in a boot loop so I was hoping to make a zip that then I could boot into the stock recovery using adb and flash it back so I don't have to keep starting from scratch
Thanks in advance for any help Rob

Unable to install TWRP Recovery on LG G Pad v50020f

Hey guys,so heres the problem...recently i had to use the LG Support Tool and prior to this i was v50020d. When the tool had finished restoring the stock ROM,it upgraded me to v50020f. So i went and successfully rooted it with KingoRoot surprisingly enough with no trouble at all. I then tried to install TWRP Recovery, through the TWRP app,Flashify,Rashr and i even tried Fastboot and ADB which im led to believe don't work with the v500 but i still tried it and had absolutely no success at all in installing TWRP. I have tried flashing every version of TWRP from 2.8.7.1 back to 2.6.3.0 i think using all those apps mentioned above. So i came on here to XDA to see could i find any solution to my problem but no luck either but i did find a post where a script was used, edited and apparently worked. I downloaded the zip file that was used in this process, edited the runme.bat file by changing the last letter of the build to f which would correspond to my build which is v50020f. I saved the edited file and then ran the script which when finished told me that recovery had been installed so i rebooted the G Pad,it started up,the blue teamwin screen came up and then it just hung there for hours! Thats was it nothing more. No recovery installed. So then i went and used Flashify & flashed `twrp-2.8.7.1-v500.img´ and when i rebooted i got 'secure booting error, cause:device unlock:so boot success!!' rebooted the G Pad again and the same thing happened blue teamwun screen loads and then nothing,no recovery. So i flashed the same recovery image with TWRP Recovery app and when it was finished i got the message 'Success!! Flashing recovery was successful, would you like to attempt rebooting into recovery? so i did and again the same thing happened. Teamwin blue screen and nothing more. When i check TWRP Recovery app afterwards it tells me that there is no recovery installed or it us not recognised. Can anybody please, please, please find a solution to my problem? Oh yeah,i even tried booting into recovey by using the power and volume up and down trick too and got the same result. Thank you so much guys...hope you can help.
I think I've seen that in order to install TWRP on the V500 is similar to how on my VK810 variant, at least the part that requires downgrading your bootloader. If it's like the VK810, it has to be the bootloader from 4.2.2. I'm sure there's TWRP threads in these sections, specifically for the V500 that give the details and files.
I'd love to know a way too. I just rooted which went great, but I have the V50020f and don't want to do another thing until I see what happens in this thread. After years of flashing and rooting I finally hard bricked my Lenovo Yoga 10 and this is my replacement tablet, so I don't want to chance it at all. Until I read a concrete solution for this build I'm staying where I am.
That wall of text is really hard to read @[email protected]!c, when I first saw it I was too tired to try and decipher it so ignored it. Now I've had another look.
Have you tried downgrading to an older firmware which people have had success with?
I had trouble when I first got this tablet but kept reading the forum and found a method to downgrade, it isn't pretty but eventually it worked. As I'm new to this device I'm not overly familiar with the different official firmware versions so I'm not exactly sure what you've got.
My tablet was more complicated as the LG tool put the Chinese, no Google apps, version on for me as that is where it was bought. So I had to downgrade so I could get apps from the Play Store to flash my recovery!
So patience and research will reward you.

Hi!! I'm in the same boat! Any chance you were able to work out a solution? Thanks so much for any help!!
I know it didn't work for the OP, but coming from bone stock v50020f, I successfully rooted using ioroot25r1, updated Supersu through playstore, then using flashify i installed TWRP 2.8.7.1 (newest I think). Once booted into TWRP recovery, I wiped cache, data, and system, and then installed AOSP Marshmallow. All went smooth as silk, no problems at all. Now I can finally stop being jealous of my wifes Nexus 7!! Hope this helps some.

Thanks.!
i have just used twrp manager apk from playstore (similar to flashify) to get TWRP 2.8.7.1 on stock v50020f, rooted using ioroot25r1 on a mac, with updated Supersu through playstore. just had to run the apk twice as it failed first time, and have booted into twrp recovery.
Had the same problem with the recovery but worked by rooting and flashing recovery with flashify.

[Guidance] SGH-T989 UPDATING ISSUE!

Good evening everyone!
I've recently wanted to update my Hercules from 4.1 (I know it's reeealy outdated) to version 6.0 Marshmallow.
So I did a few steps and now I cant' seem to go any further, and I need your help.
So far, I've done the following:
-Installed TWRP 2.8.7.0
-Used Odin to flash the TWRP mentioned above
Now, I know there are a few problems regarding this version of the TWRP on the Hercules, so I tried fixing it by using Odin again and flashing the updated 2.8.7.1 and even the 3.0 version that I found on some threads, but with no sucess.
I haven't even had the chance to install Marshmallow on my phone in the first chance, because I couldn't find any .ZIP folders on the TWRP instalation menu.
I really appreciate your help guys, I'm a noob at this and I'm just starting to figure what is what, I just need my phone updated. It's running so far atleast, so it's not hard bricked I guess.
Did you follow the instructions to flash TWRP using Odin?

I'm pretty sure I did everything I was intended to do. I installed Samsung Kies so I could install the drivers on my mobile, and then TWRP through Odin properly with the blue light showing up. After flashing it, it turned green and said PASS or PASSED. So I think I did everything right on that end, I can even access TWRP with no real problems.
I even tried to do a ROOT on my system, but again, I couldn't use ZIP or any other files on the TWRP installation option because they simply do not appear
bump
Watching this thread as I have the same problem.
I can boot to TWRP 2.8.7, but if I try to install, there's no file to install from.
I can go back to TWRP 2.6.0, and then mount the card and see the ROM, but every ROM I try fails. Something about non-virtual partitions if I try 4.4 or better, and error executing updater binary if i try 4.1

I don't know of any problems with any of the recoveries. However there are different recoveries for different roms which need to be used in a specific order and in a specific way, the first time that you virtually repartition your phone.
Have you gone through the process of applying the "virtual partition" and installing the modified "virtual partition" recovery? This is required for most of the MM roms on this phone (Hercules). The process is very well documented here http://forum.xda-developers.com/galaxy-s2-tmobile/help/guidance-sgh-t989-updating-issue-t3414641 in the #2nd post.

Hi, thanks for replying
No, I dont' take I have taken that step actually. I'm pretty new to this and I tried following every step correctly, but I know that I failed or skipped something at some extent and I've been trying to figure out what exactly, so I can fix it. I guess I need to Virtual Partition my phone then, could you post me the link do to so? Because I think you posted one that would take back to this post

I shut it down in TWRP then hold volume down and power to go into download mode.
My phone has gone backwards now though - it doesn't matter what I load in Odin now, it won't boot up. The SAMSUNG screen is on, with a progress bar, but it never gets to the end. It stops right near the end and it sits there until I reboot it again.

OnePlus 3 keeps booting into TWRP Recovery Mode - PLEASE HELP!!

I will try to explain what happened as best as possible.
I wanted to install the AKT Profile on my un-rooted one plus 3 and so I decided to root it.'
I looked up on google and used the OP3 All In One ToolKit to unlock bootloader and flash TWRP.
Then I booted up phone to download SuperSu in order to flash it.
This is where the problem began. I went into TWRP recovery mode and it asked for a password and that stopped the nandroid backup too. but I googled and found out that doing a Wipe helps you bypass the password bug, so I did that. Now I went ahead and did a nandroid backup.
This is where I don't understand what's going on. How much ever I try to reboot the device, it ONLY loads me back into TWRP Recovery screen.
I even tried to restore the backup, it completes the restore but I dont see any reboot option right after it is done, So i have to long press power button to reload back into TWRP.
Now I'm confused as to what to do and would REALLY appreciate help, ASAP.
P.S - I'm a noob so I probably wont understand high level jargon
thank you guys in advance :crying:
SOLVED : I flashed TWRP 3.0.3 once again and somehow it got fixed
'' doing a wipe help you bypass the password''... Well yes probably, but depending on what type of wipe, you might have wiped your rom/system. So if that is the case, there is no rom to boot into, and your stuck in twrp recovery. Restoring an empty Nandroid wont do anything either. So my guess is you will have to download stock or custom rom and do a fresh install.
If needed, this method works very well.
I used it to day, with success.
Good luck !
Thank you. but will this work with latest TWRP 3.0.3 or will i have to use old one as mentioned in that post?
Use latest twrp 3.0.4.0. Also for clean install with OOS 4.02 or OB11. Also keep both firmware and supersu/magisk superuser close by. You can find all dl-links on xda.

Its not official but working for me...
Try flashing the stock recovery. I got stuck in recovery loop after the OTA update got installed over twrp. Flashed the stock recovery and right away it booted me to the rom.
It's a problem of older twrp with nougat so you need to flash twrp new version
