Major Battery problem Basic Android apps is taking 48% of battery!!! - HTC One X

I got my HOX back last Friday from service which replaced after a dropp my mainboard and battery.
Since then battery only lasts 4-5 hour max with no heavy usage(NOT EVEN MODERATE USAGE!!!!).
Sense 5 android 4.2.2 installed in Service.
As you can see in my screen shots Basic Android Apps is responsible for 49% of power loss.
Is there anything I can do?

I would try and update the firmware. I had horrible battery life with Sense 5 before updating my firmware as well. The battery never lasted longer than 12 hours. Now it's more like 20-24 hours.

If your phone runs on stock ROM, you should get the update OTA.
If you are enjoying the benefits of a custom ROM, you should go back to stock, and wait for OTA.
Also, you can find your CID specific firmware, and flash it manually through the fastboot.

Check your hboot version (that's also the firmware version).
If you are at 1.7x, you have the most recent firmware, and no need to update.

If you make the factory reset will the OTA appear or you will have to flash it manually?
Remember that my new mainboard that service used to replace the old damaged one was already on sense 5 android 4.2.2.
Did I also mentioned that they said they replaced the battery with a new one?(could that play a part in this?)

just make factory reset ...normally ota should be keeping there...if not you will get it and you can download again...but normally it should be still there it just resets everything so that things like that can be fixed...or look at first in accounts etc and at google if there is some problem with auto sync or so...if yes turn off whole auto sync and restart device and see if the problem with contacts etc is still there...if yes? then make factory reset

[Q] Downgrade from 4.4.2 KitKat to 4.1.2 Jelly Bean

Hi guys,
Now that we have KitKat available for our Note 8 tablets, I've taken the plunge to upgrade but immediately ran into a fairly significant issue that makes me want to go back to 4.1.2 Jelly Beam.
Is it possible for me to downgrade this tablet through Odin or any other methods?
Thanks.

From what I read, the only way is to have upgraded to 4.4.2 using Mobil Odin, as it leaves your boot loader as 4.2.2 or 4.1.2.
You may be stuck until someone patches a ROM update to force older bootloader for use on Odin.

I just read that we cant flash stock 4.2 if we updated to 4.4. I might sell this tablet now. Any help is greatly appreciated. I was in love with this tablet. Now my spen is way off. Battery life is much worse. And I cant disable the service app that puts the recommended spen apps in the notification bar. The handwriting recognjtion is backwards and doesnt work nearly as well. I am reading that m stuck and cant express my frustration.

You can downgrade, but can't use ODIN to install.
If you have a custom recovery already installed, then you can just install any 4.2.2 custom ROM from recovery.

I took the plunge and used Odin to flash back to stock 4.1.2. The bootloader stayed upgraded to 4.4.2, but the ROM did flash back to 4.1.2 without any apparent and immediate issues.
I've been using the tablet for a couple days now and haven't had any problems other than the occasional sleep of death. Some people have reported charging issues with the new bootloader in combination with the old rom, especially with the device turned off. I'll try to confirm or deny that over the next few days.
what's up!

My Note 8 is doing great after downgrading. No problems at all.
At a high level, basically grab the proper 4.1.2 firmware for your device from Sammobile and a version of Odin 3.09. Put your device into download mode, and flash the firmware. I would suggest doing a factory reset before flashing your firmware through Odin. That's all there is to it.
I honestly haven't noticed much difference in battery life after the upgrade. I find that depending on what you are running and what your settings are makes more if a difference, at least to me, or in my case. I've learned to reduce my screen brightness and not run over clocked all the time unless the app calls for it. Stuff like that. Also use Clean sweep app and Battery doctor, they both do a nice job managing my ram and battery ussage usage.

If you did a factory reset after updating to KitKat would it have KitKat or Jellybean when it is finished.

I am the one having problem with charging with the device turned off after downgrading form 4.4.2 to stock 4.1.2.
I can charge the device only when it is turned on.
When it is turned off it still charges but the display is never dimmed/turned off… and the device hangs… so hard reset is needed.
If anyone knows how to fix it please help!

I also have this issue after downgrading, but compared to dealing with an inaccurate S-Pen after upgrading to 4.4.2, I would consider this a minor issue.
Avoid turning off your device or draining your battery so much that it shuts off (it's not really good for the battery to drain it frequently anyway). If you do have to charge from power-off state, let it charge for a few minutes until you can turn on the device, do a power off when it appears to hang, and then turn it back on, and then charge with the tablet booted into Android.

Sure. If I like 4.4.2 I would never downgrade to 4.1.2. Also I will not install 4.4.2 any more at note 8.0. However it is somekind heartening that I am not the only one with the same problem.
But I am interested in the real fix (eg. getting back to the previous bootloader version).
Samsung by blocking owners the possibility to officially downgrade their devices to STOCK firmwares and by doing so voiding the warranty is just violating my ownership rights to have the device the same quality of functionalities that I have bought! As 4.4.2 in my humble opinion is functional disaster in comparison to 4.1.2.

Sanctrum, I agree with you that I'd like to see a method to revert to the previous bootloader version, but as far as I'm aware (and I admittingly have not dug very deep into this) there are no ways to revert back to a previous version of a bootloader. Once you upgrade that, you're kind of stuck.
Still, it's a relatively minor bug to put up with in the grand scheme of things, so it doesn't really bother me all that much.
Good luck on your search, and please do post back if you find a solution!
Thanks,
S.
Am i right?
Can we downgrade from 4.4.2 Official to 4.1.2 Official?
How? What about knox?
Tell me step by stem.. Thank u..
Yes, flash with Odin. Knox will stay because 4.4.2 bootloader won't be downgraded with flashing 4.1.2
I just downgraded from kitkat today and boy does my tablet feel good! It is back to bug free and super fast. The only downside now is that I also have the charging issue when devices is off. Glad my second note 8 is still on 4.2.2 boot loader.

Factory Reset Venom ROM Help

Need some help! I lost my phone last weekend so used the android device manager and performed a factory reset. Long story short the phone was returned to me. Left it in a taxi.
As i got wifi the phone then reset. The venom rom i was using then started playing up. I reflashed it but the wifi no longer works. This is the case with various roms and now it says my mobile is rooted and s-on. The phone still has twrp 2.7 running on it.
Could you guys please advise what I should do here.
Thanks.

do not update , i repeat DO NOT UPDATE .... the update will heat ur phone like heater and make ur phone lag , like samsung , it will even decrease battery life
u should wait a month by then 5.1. or 5.1.1 will be out then update ...and for unrooting u can use su......just see to it u revert back to defaults by uninstalling and removing rooting supplements like xposed etc.....

Haven't had that problem, in fact my battery life has been pretty good... I've had the phone on for over 12 hours now, some screen on time (approx 3-4 hours) and am at 80%.
Is much better than previous rom...
Haven't overheated once.
I have a 64gb 2.3ghz 551ML with unlocked bootloader and root access. I believe I installed busybox but haven't installed the xposed framework.
No special power saving features activated, wifi always on as well as GPS and NFC.
The way I upgraded was to flash the latest pre-rooted image file with fastboot and then install the update using the settings option.
As the pre-rooted image file is considered "stock" as long as you don't update supersu or install busybox/xposed again it should update through OTA with no bootloops.
That's how I did it anyway...
Cheers...

I agree with you.
Haven't faced a lag since the update. Plus the battery too has improved greatly. i have not checked about the SOT. But still noticeable positive change.
So far too good.:good:
4G all the time, screenshots says it all..estimate of 5++ hours of SOT in my opinion.. all i need left is a custom kernel that have undervolt or other governor option, and helps in decreasing down android OS drain..

Nougat Battery Life [HTC 10]

I updated to Nougat couple of days ago at firmware 2.41.400.5 stock rom
Battery issues was huge to me and couldnt find out why, can anyone help me to identify why my phone was awake overnight? It happens even in safe mode.. ><"
Will be glad if anyone could help or suggest anything, did a cache partition wipe and reset from recovery after the update.
These are some additional stats from GSAM battery
Mine is definitely shorter, but not as yours. And no issue like the OS huge consumption. I saw some other guys have the same.
I used to get 6h+ screen on time, now is less than 4h30.

I had this issue both before and after i upgrade to nougat, but anyway, what I did was I let the battery drain the same way it does for about 1 week and recharge it every single time. I think after that the battery sets and now the battery life is pretty awesome during idle, less than 1% drain sometimes overnight, less than 5% if wifi is on. Perhaps just be patient. I doubt its a software problem.
Hope that helps mate.

how to downgrade to android 6

hi
I have an HTC 10 Nougat 7.0 v2.41.401.4
phone is unlocked and S-ON
It's camera stopped working so I googled and I did a lot of work (clearing cash ,master reset , .....)some told it might be a software problem so there is a chance by downgrading to Android 6 and camera might work!
how could I do that?
I'm not professional at this would you please explain with detail?
Is there any official Rom higher than mine(v2.41.401.4 )?

I don't see how that would fix your issue, but in any case the only way to downgrade to 6.0 would be to pay for S-Off first.
You could try running the ruu for your current version and see if it helps. It would restore your phone to a fully virgin state.
I really dont know how could it help (downgrading)but some people who had same problem told downgrading to android 6 helped camera came back!
you mean I download RUU with the my current version and flash it ?

You don't really need TWRP to clear cache.
To do that, you go to setting -> Apps -> Camera
Click on Storage, at the very bottom, there is clear data and clear cache buttons. <You want to back up all your pictures before clearing anything!>
A factory reset will also do the same thing, but that would erase everything on the phone.
Both the steps assume something in the software is messed up, and you are returning the phone to virgin state to start over.
Clearing cache/data in camera app resets the app in case some setting is messed up. Factory reset should restore all settings of the phone to default, get rids of all added apps, etc. More drastic step is to reinstall the firmware in case it is corrupted. You can do that with TWRP if you have a nandroid backup, or use an RUU from HTC.
(I downloaded TWRP for HTC 10 -one file about 30 MB- and after installing through twrp I wiped all cash and after reboot camera came back also with auto focus problem and bad picture quality)
well only it was OK for one hour and after that camera gone!!!
Its a hardware problem
All things done by me was useless !!!
I recommend you send it to HTC support (warranty)
and don not waste your time like me!!!
