Wipe internal storage? - Sprint Samsung Galaxy S III

will factory reset in cwm wipe my internal sd card...

No, you need to choose the "wipe internal sdcard" or "wipe /data/media" (depending on recovery, I don't use cwm) for internal to get cleaned. Factory reset wipes /data without wiping/data/media which is where the internal storage is located

cant wipe sd ext partition

Hi
I can't wipe my ext3 partition can I wipe it with a zip
You can wipe it in the custom recovery. Go to mounts and storage and wipe the sd ext. And I don't think you can wipe it through a zip file. If you want, just use gparted or something equivelent to wipe it.

[Q] Wipe Data and Internal Memory.

I'm not sure if this was answered elsewhere, I couldn't find a thread about it.
If I copy a ROM/GAPPS to the internal memory of the Verizon GNex and do a wipe data/factory reset in CMW. Wouldn't that erase the ROM/Gapps that are stored on the internal memory? If that is the case, how are we supposed to do a factory reset/wipe data and leave the ROM on the "internal sd card?"
EDIT: Nevermind. Got it. It won't delete them.

Click to collapse
Boot into clockworkmod and select "mounts and storage" when you scroll down you find the options "format /emmc" (internal storage) & "format /sdcard" (self explanatory)
After that run a full wipe from here
Hope that helps !

[Q] TWRP Question

Hi, my question is, what of way do you format device to flash a ROM. In picture A there is swipe to factory reset and in picture B you have to type yes to start. While flashing a ROM which option do you choose? Factory reset or Format data. I forgot which one I used to format data.
With TWRP if you wipe "factory reset" clears, / data, cache / and / dalvik but in / data does not erase / data / media / or your internal storage.
But is you wipe /data from Advance wipe, it will delete everything in data partition including internal storage.
:good:
Format Data now what
I used TWRP to "format data" on my phone and then loaded CyanogenMod from an external sd card, but it is stuck in the load screen. Do I have to use a different ROM after a "format data"?
