As mentioned in the title. What would you guys say about the performance of CyanogenMod-based roms on the International Note (N7105)
Of course in terms of stability, battery, and lag

I now happily own the Samsung Galaxy Note II, the SIM free international version. This phone was never locked or branded.
In the past, when rooting was discussed, it always had to do with removing the branding annoyances from those US carrier phones.
Are there any significant benefits of rooting the Note II (GT-N7100)? If yes - what are they?
Thanks

Congrats on your Note 2! There are quite a few reasons you can / should root and / or install a custom ROM & kernel:
1. Rooting gives you complete control over your phone. Be it for customizations or for running tweaks and mods.
2. Custom ROM's add additional features to your OS.
3. De-Bloated: branded or not, the phone comes from Samsung with all kinds of bloat-ware installed. Custom roms usually come minus that software.
4. Performance! Most custom roms come tweaked with Performance enhancements so your phone runs alot smoother and faster. (overclocking etc)
5. BATTERY LIFE! Custom roms & kernels allow you to get the most out of your battery. Via Underclocking / undervolting, different CPU governors & IO Schedulers.
I am personally running WanamLite ROM V1.4 & RedPill Rev 0.5 Kernel. With Pegasusq / Deadline IO Scheduler. (Awesome performance & battery life)!
Hope this helps! If you need any more help or suggestions PM me.

I'm just curious from a technical standpoint which would have better performance and battery life. I'm leaning towards myrom for customization and aosp/cm tweaks. Does anyone know if there are any fundamental differences?
Hi,
I just flashed the latest omega rom yesterday on my N7100 and I am having very bad performance and stuttering in the menus (antutu 11000 vs 14000 before). Also the battery consuption in very bad. Phone seems a bit hotter than usual.
Everything was just fine when I was stock on Revolution HD. Do someone know what's wrong ?
Why not ask in the Omega thread?
Different roms have different tweaks, you just need to find one which suits you.

I've had an android phone since my tmobile g2 ( the one with the flip out keyboard, sweet phone!) and have always rooted and installed custom roms but this is my first nexus device. What are the benefits of a custom rom here? I'm not asking whether I should root it but just wondering what major improvements a custom rom brings to an already debloated rom.
Just go to any ROM development thread to see all the additional features it has.
Yeah, I know that. I'm not new to android or custom roms, to be more specific do the custom roms for Nexus offer significant performance or battery increases? With htc or Samsung the touchwiz and sense overlays use memory and cpu and there is an obvious increase in speed when flashing an aosp or aokp rom. Just wondered if it's the same or if there's less noticeable difference.
Well I've heard about performance increases with custom ROM's and increased battery life.

A custom kernel will have more impact on performance and battery life with it allowing you to overclock, underclock, undervolt your CPU and GPU.

Hello you fine people. My TAB 3 10.1 inch is sitting unused for many reasons. 1: stock rom is lacking in app support and audio playback from youtube has weird glitches and the video lags. 2: most of the custom roms are not that good on my tablet having slow performance and so on. and the list goes forever. i wanna know that is there any rom for the santos10LTE thats good on performance and battery life. i whould prefer android 6 or newer. the stock rom is the best bet of usability on my TAB 3 4G but you aldready know... any suggestions to somehow breath some life back in to this thing?
