USB Mass Storage & ViperX4 - HTC One X

hi!
I installed the viperx4 and I noticed that, although I still appears the option to connect your phone to pc via usb, unfortunately one once you click "connect to pc", it connects(and i see "disconnet from pc") but the pc does not see the phone.
If I mount the phone from recovery, pc sees it!
How can I fix?

turn off usb debugging

Kernel doesn't support it. Need kernel source for that which isn't out yet.
Maybe spoke to soon, try this kernel and test again

make sure your phone is disconnected from the computer and then try going into the settings and in the top section that is wireless and networks press more, then USB utilities, and press connect storage to PC and then plug your phone into the computer. had about the same problem and came across that.
You can also try going into your device settings on your pc (samsung/modem) and resetting the driver it seems to get "stuck" sometimes.

+1 to this... its the new way to connect
I put this on my sd card (by taking the card out of the phone) and putting it in a card reader. I flashed the file from the stock recovery and this gave me custom recovery. Then I restored my previous backup. I was having the same issue and FB21 has too many bugs. I went back to gingerbread but kept fb21 modem.
You can actually get MTP working quite simply...

To use USB MTP you have to unmount SD Card first then plug in.

Did this and that got my computer to acknowledge I had connected my phone but not it says unrecognized, so I'm going to uninstall kies and then reinstall again and see if that helps

Unable to connect USB mass storage on Slimbean 4.2.2build 6....

Hello geniuses,
Can You tell Me how to make the usb mass storage in slim rom working with windows7 x64/32..?
I have all the drivers installed along with the hTC's blotware HTC Sync Manager..
Every time I connect My HOX to pc, the "turn on USB storage" screen pops and as soon as I press that button it just gives Me the loading circle running forever..
# I tried connecting with usb debugging either on and off..
# I tried switching to windows 8 pc, but the same thing happened..
# the ums was working with stock ics..
# ums was even working with Slim 4.2.2build 4.7..

Does the kernel support UMS ?
My apologies for not replying for such a long time..
Yes I tried disabling the usb debugging and ums is already checked in storage..
I have no idea about the kernel if it supports the ums or not.. The current kernel version is 3.1.10n3okernel_v33-gf404256

Same problem still persists in build 8.
Edit: After a few tries and after a reboot I managed to get it working.
Having this problem now with SlimKat 4.4 RC3 2.8 for samsung Galaxy S i9000 (trying to upgrade to official 3.0)
It refuses to detect that its connected to a computer. Have to reboot several times to get it working, and once it works, it only works for a short while. Then all of a sudden, connection dies.
I suspect it's the low memory condition that causes this. Slimrom has an extremely aggresive memory management, and some important services, such as bluetooth, usb connection, wifi etc...etc... is killed due to low meomory condition.

1) For your first query
a) Go To Setting --> Connect to PC :
in it you will get two options
Default connection type and Ask Me.
Just check weather Ask Me flag is selected or not. If its not then select that.
It will ask you the next time you connect your HTC one V to your PC.
2) Just check weather you have installed HTC USB drivers in your system. You can check it in
Control Panel > Install and Uninstall Apps (Inside your PC if you are using Windows)
If that is not present then ,
Go to this link
HTC SYNC Manager Download
download and install.
I have done every thing still no good

Are you trying to mount as storage or use adb commands?
Do you have USB debugging enabled?
Does the PC recognize the phone from recovery or fastboot?

I assume you have tried other USB ports ect? Do you have another PC to test with to rule out the wildfires micro USB is not damaged?

This is sometimes a bit finnicky. Try changing to PTP instead of MTP. If that doesn't work, enabled Android Debugging. For some odd reason, Windows 10 wouldn't discover the storage on my HTC One M9 unless I enabled debugging from the developer settings menu.

I've tried everything that you suggested... and I'm still having the same problem as the OP.
Did you open the notification that appears on your phone after you connect it to the pc and select mtp?
How about just using a USB OTG memory with Type-C connector, something like this...
http://www.amazon.com/WEme-Type-C-MacBook-Devices-Surface/dp/B013OIGJFE/
Yea MTP nor PTP didn't work. What I did was plug it in and wait for it to show up in device manager. Then I deleted the device from device manager. Then I unplugged the device and plugged it back in... Then waited for drivers to install on it's own. Everything was good after that.
