Can anyone tell me if there is a way to show the screenshot option in the settings pulldown. I have seen it on different videos & web screen shots. Is it available on the verizon one? Thanks

Didn't take you as rude. Sorry if I sounded rude. Various videos and screenshots show the option on 4.2.2 but can't find it

Not a problem. I love that app. I use it to take notes when I have my browser open to a research page or a text message. I love the whole "window" feature.

Well if you're on a cm10 ROM, go into settings and assign the long press menu function to "voice search" and then I'll mod the apk to add the ability to launch it from holding the menu button.

Haha yeah it's not possible in touchwiz. I believe the long press menu function acts as a regular search button single press. I'm certain that could be changed but I'm not sure I never ran touchwiz. what version of floating note do you have?

I am on CM10 and was able to change my long press menu button to function as long press search. If you can get me your android.policy.jar file i should be able to change it. it might take some time though im not 100 percent sure what to change.
I've seen many questions and request for mods to disable the stock sms wake/ sms notification preview. I just recently stumbled (duh) over the settings menu in the default app to disable it. It also gives us many other options as well. Info and pictures below.
Path: Open stock Samsung messaging app (don't click a thread) --> Menu --> Settings
Options:
Bubble Style
Background Style (custom pictures!)
Delivery Reports
Remove Notifications
Add Signature
Any many more.
Pretty basic stuff, but figured it was worth a thread as this is commonly overlooked...
Awesome Thank you!
But which setting prevents the screen from turning on when a message is received?
(yet still produces a sound and lights notification LED)

Just untick the notifications box. You won't receive any notifications from the stock messaging app.
I think you missed his point. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think people want to know how to disable the screen wake upon receipt of a SMS message via stock messanger.

I don't think you can do it in stock app but free app - go sms pro - can do it.

Un checking the notification button will disable all including the led light and screen wake.

This is a reason why I use third party app. No screen wakeup but I preset led to blink very fast and in specific color.

Check the box for reverse halo, then you can double tap and hold on the halo icon to drag it around the screen and remove it by dropping it on the X at the top of the screen.
Thank worked, thanks borkan.

There isn't a way to do that yet out of the box. Though there might be some fix for that out there. I have not searched for one.

Anyway to make the home button double click to run a different program?
Or can we change the swipe up to run another program?

I think the only way is to use a different launcher. I've been trying find a way myself. On the home button click mine has a nice solid click sound. I actually like it. Feels sturdy, not like a squishy feel which I've had in the past with hard buttons.

It seems like I can not screenshot while in the app "snap chat". I hold down the volume down and power key but it doesn't do it. It screenshots like that anywhere else. Is it blocked now? Or just the G?
any help would be appreciated.
*I know that isn't what snap chat is for, but there are some funny things I would like to screenshot sometimes. Please no "That isn't the purpose of the app comments".

Running a stock ROM u can push volume + and - at the same time for a screenshot. Then click the button in top right of screen. It looks like a little floppy disk. That will save the pic. And I've done this using snapchat.

Yes I believe they would still get a notification that it was screenshot. Look up Snapchat holo. U can find the apk file and install that version which is a mod so the sender will never know a screenshot was taken.
