After some help with flashing custom ROMs, I was able to get the custom ROM and the kernel installed. Wifi works just fine and have been using that until today. Today I signed up for an account on Virgin Mobile and was giving a phone number on their website and instructions to "activate the phone".
Here is where the problems continues.
I restart the device and get the service icons in the upper right and can get weather updates using their data . I can't however send SMS or make calls.
Do I have to reflash to a stock ROM and activate the phone?
Yes, most custom roms delete the activate app

Ok, thanks!
Fixed, it after figuring out I needed to re-lock the bootloader for the RUU to install.

I have been using t-mobile phones on simple mobile for a while now. But I'm having trouble with the m8. I installed a custom ROM so that I could edit the APN, but every time I saved the simple mobile APN the phone would switch the default back to t-mobile. Happened multiple times. Anyone got any insight into what might be wrong?

Im on a stock T-Mobile HTC One and if you dont want to use the stock APN simply create a new one.
I did that because i dont want to use IPv6. I have data connectivity issues with it.
Flash back to stock ROM then do your WiFi testing.
Right now its flawed because your using modified software and if the wifi stack is not properly dont you will run into problems.
Hi, I recently flashed the skydragon rom v 10 for my AT&T M8. Everything seems to be working fine except I cannot get incoming calls. I can send calls and texts but cannot get incoming calls. Anyone know a fix for this?

Sorry about posting it in multiple places. Do you know if the disable is right away or takes some time? I called AT&T and they told me it was disabled and would send me notification, but incoming calls still not working and no notification. I will be calling back later today to verify though

Don't know. I wouldn't think an account change like that would take long. I wonder if they just told you that to get you to hang up?

Even with VoLTE off, no incoming calls. But did see that sky dragon team is working on it so I guess I'll be off LTE until then. Thanks!
Is there a way to return to stock? I know you can use RUU but I am getting confused with all the talk about S-Off and S-On. My M8 is S-On with skydragon v9.0 with the lollipop updates from April. Do I need S-Off to use the RUU or do I simply lock the bootloader then use the RUU as instructed??

Are you sure they turned off HD Voice for your account? Understanding of this feature by the first tier customer service reps seems dodgy, at best. One user here reported that one rep said it couldn't be disabled; so he just called again, and got a rep that could do it.

Of course there is a way to return to stock.
If you made a TWRP nandroid of the stock ROM (which is always recommended before modding the phone), just restore it in TWRP.
Alternately, you can restore to stock with RUU. RUU will run fine with s-on with the following conditions:
1) Must be equal or greater main version (in getvar all, or OS version on hboot screen), hboot, etc. that is installed on the phone. In other words, no "downgrading" by RUU is allowed with s-on. So if you are on Lollipop firmware, you can only run the 4.28 AT&T RUU (not any of the previous ones).
Speaking of firmware, are you on the latest AT&T Lollipop firmware?
2) As you have somewhat determined, you must relock the bootloader to RUU. Relock with the command: fastboot oem lock
3) You can only run an AT&T RUU, not a RUU for another carrier version (but you may already know that).
4) Additionally, the RUU will wipe the phone, including internal storage. So backup any personal data you want to keep accordingly before RUU.
Another option (although not quite stock) is to use the following custom ROM. Its based on AT&T software (just debloated, optimized, etc.) and should therefore work correctly on AT&T's network: http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-htc-one-m8/development/att-4-4-3-2-22-1540-3-debloated-sense-6-t2837365
I ended up going the second option with the Rom by WNC.
I'm not 100% sure about the HD calling. First customer care told me they turned it off then I called again and the second told me it was off. Anyway to check?
Again, thanks for the help!:good:

Not that I am aware. If you were told by 2 different reps that its off, then that is prob the best you can do.
The problem did not occur if you manually switched off LTE (HSPA and GSM only)?
Did switching to WNC's ROM solve the incoming call issue?
Also, you didn't answer my question on whether you are on the Lollipop AT&T firmware?
A slight feeling this may be a different issue than the HD Voice problem, since:
1) Disabling HD Voice on your account did not solve the issue
2) You mentioned in your OP that SMS worked fine. Other folks with the HD Voice issue had problems sending/receiving SMS.

I was able to get calls if I manually switched to HSPA and I am running the latest lollipop firmware. Flashing WNC's Rom made everything work again. I'm guessing HD voice was switched off because when I call out, I am switched to hspa if I'm on LTE.
Not sure why the work around didn't work for me, probably unlucky
I've had trouble with this on the same device before, but had it working and now it seems to have begun again after a friend borrowed it and made a software reset.
No matter what simcard i place in the device i get a "Limited Service" message, and no calling or data is working
What can i do ? The phone is running with custom rom everything is unlocked. S-OFF, CID1111.., Custom recovery and custom rom. Not sure if the carrier is unlocked though, how can i see that?
Any suggestions ?
Maybe a reinstall of the correct firmware will reset the radio back to normal. Please try that.

Hello dear all,
I bought a few days ago a Samsung Galaxy s6 phone in my country. As I am a bit curious, I noticed later on that the phone have been unlocked before I purchased it with the local seller, as it worked fined with my local SIM Card operator.
I also noted the phone was CDMA, as there was not anywhere I could setup an APN. I used a third party all, APN Configurator (downloaded from the Play Store) to define a custom APN and then I could go the the internet using mobile data. I used the phone for two days without any noticeable issue. Then, one night, I rebooted the phone and it got stuck into a bootloop, with a message displayed in red in the upper left corner of the screen : "Custom binary blocked by FRP lock".
I made some research and I understood FRP lock was a sort of protection related to OEM (which could be deactivated in Developer Options). I did not knew anythting about that. Anyway, as it was useless to me at this point since I could not even start the phone.
However, Download mode and Stock recovery were still available. I downloaded and flashed a stock rom for Sprint (G920PVPU3BOL1) and I flashed it via Odin. It went fine. Now when I boot the phone, It gives me the following message :
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
I get get past this screen. I only have Wifi-available, but still, I can't go anywhere with that.
I am loocking for a proper way/tutorial to bypass this screen and then unlock the phone from here.
Much thanks in advance.

Thanks @jinderation. I already came accross that tutorial. Unfortunately I can't apply it since it requires to install some APKs. I cannot even do that since I am stucked at the activation screen and I can't get past the message I mentionned before:
"Attention - Power off your device, insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device."
So, no way to access to the menu, where I can connect the device to a PC and then send an APK and then install it from the device.
So I am looking for a proper way to bypass the activation screen first. Then I can proceed with the tutorial you mentionned.
Take it to sprint.. Have u checked for its imei no. Whether its blacklisted or not...the seller whom u bought from did he make his payments to sprint cuz if he didnt then you are screwed..share the imei number here so i can check
U can also try flashing this firmware its 5.11 BOL1 as well i dont know where u had downloaded the firmware from mine is also unlocked but doesnt show the type of screen that you are mentioning

A massive thanks to you! I actually downloaded an unlocked version of 5.1.1 BOL1 updated from somewhere else, not yours, I flashed it via Odin, and it workied fine. I even rooted it by flashing UniKernel for Sm-920P and its all perfect now.
Except that the Sprint logo shown at startup is a bit annoying, and also the battery life which is quite short....
@jinderation, thanks again for your helpful support!

My phone is unlocked and works fine on 5.1.1 but when i upgrade to 6.0.1 it becomes locked.
It will be stuck on 5.1.1 forever or is there a solution to keep it unlocked and upgrade safely?
Thanks

Well I am not that knowledgeable on the matter.... But I do not know of any way of doing that. Maybe you could try looking for a Marshmallow stock Rom already unlocked ?
no unlocked rom exists for g920p i believe

Bought an S6 recently and it was on 5.1.1. It was already rooted and not showing firmware update option. So we thought we will flash the stock ROM and flashed the SM-G920P 6.0.1 ROM. After this, the phone displays the following message and SIM card is not showing any signal "Power off your device and insert the service provider UICC that came with the device, then power on the device". Any suggestions to fix this issue?

Hi, I have a problem after re-lock and factory reset. My bank app, paylib, which allows to pay with phone using NFC, recognize my phone as a new one. The problem is that if I choose the"new" terminal for installation it doesn't work and installation aborts. Just message : error #tech. 03000# at the end. Is it because I relocked bootloader?
Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

It's not working not because of your relocked/unlocked or locked status, it doesn't work because you probably messed with the OS.
See if you can find a ruu and flash it to be sure you are completely stock. If you had at some point rooted your software and unrooted it by the uninstaller it leaves traces. Bank apps are very bad when it comes to root.

Strange. Because i know several banking apps are even working on a custom rom rooted via Magisk. With the needed modules they are able to use the applications without any strange behavior.
Not sure where your issue lies then.
