Super Smooth
Have to say out of all AOSP type ROMs, my experience has been terrific with this one. My only issue was initially having apps such as Gallery seeing my files on my 64Gb Sandisk SD card which is partitioned with a second EXT2 partition I have used with International ROMs that support apps to SD. But those Roms as nice as they are are so bloated that even with transferring apps to SD using Link2SD app in conjunction with my EXT2 partition, that I still could barely squeak out 1GB free space Internal Memory. Even with upwards of 150 user apps installed, I still have just under 9GB free !!!!
I basically installed a Gallery app that allowed me to point to SD Card1. Then automagically the built in Gallery app recognized the location of all my various jpg folders and Music folders. Weird that Root Explorer could see my SD card with no problems, but I had to still install an app (FStop) that would manually point to the SD card1 location. If this is a known issue with CM/AOSP, then my bad. Just stating what my only issue here was. Great ROM!!!

Thanks back. One weird issue just popped up. The menu button at times is non responsive at times bringing up the settings options. Long press always works. A reboot takes care of the issue, but it is happening with a bit more frequencies lately today. Not sure if it's related to any of the customizations using the Vanir app. Any recommendations of where to look would be appreciated. Of course I can't make it NOT work right now
EDIT:....OK...menu button non responsive after opening message app, posting and then going back to home screen. NOT blaming the message app. Only stating what I just did to have menu button not work.

Nice nice nice fast and volume tweak man!!!

Love the ROM & thanks for the update. +1 to awesome new 'fuller' screen boot ani.
Anyone else getting persistent AOKP Statistics notification?
As I do miss the integrated PA, I love that Xposed will get more exposure (pun?).. because it's awesome and really changes the game. Great ROM-- look forward to testing more.
Note to anyone looking: When using the dpi changer, I find that when changing the dpi or res of an app, for changes to apply, need to click on the wrench, FC the app, back out, then hit the play button to see changes. fwiw. Hitting the Save button alone doesn't seem to really FC it.
Gmail settings that look nice for me are: DPI 225, res 800x1280, tablet (for good split screen layout)
..Same for Settings (com.android.settings)

The TouchWiz Launcher does not depend on the Samsung core framework, so it can be used. S-Pen should definitely work (in its basic form), although S-Pen Gestures have not yet been added back into the ROM.
John, yet another huge thanks goes out to you. I hope you're getting some well deserved rest right now! I did notice that the build.prop device DPI is set at 280. Will this give us issues with Market Compatibility? Obviously there is a difference between Xposed + PA Prefs/Hybrid Engine, however I'm not very sure of the particular differences between how each works. I haven't seen any Market issues yet (was cautious because changing the entire system DPI on my older devices (without PA) caused those Market issues).
Anyways, everything is working great apart from the known issues (which are quite irrelevant). Lots of merges to CM were made last night for our t0ltes, and I'm sure AOKP will see continuous action, so this will just keep getting better and better. Awesome first mr1 release, thanks again!
Wow.... and I was just starting to settle in with Jelly Beer. There is no way I can't give the new Jelly Bam a try. Thanks a billion!
does anyone know if this rom natively can handle an exfat formatted exernal sd card, or, do we have to flash the perseus kernel to get that to be "seen" properly?
thanks!
EDIT: so, natively, this rom can NOT see external sd cards formatted with exfat; I tried to flash the perseus kernel with this rom, so I could see my extsd card, but the phone would NOT boot...
My problem is, all the computers in my house are either win7 or 8, and when I go to format my ext sd card, it only gives me EXFAT as an option; any ideas on how I can format my card for fat32? I was an all OSX house until a few months ago, and osx allowed fat 32...
thanks again!

I included a multi DPI play store so there should be no compatibility issues.

any install instructions? what partition layout should be used for this rom? i will give this a try and see what i can figure out, thanks
one thing i found was after first boot there is two toggle panels in task bar, too fix go to rom control in system settings and pick one to turn off.
Rom is fine. I like baked rom control, it is better than AOKP rom control. Animations are quite smooth. I will benchmark this in a moment and post result here GOOGLE DRIVE (Yeah, I have benchmarked it after it settled, rebooted etc, not just after flashing)

If you want to activate swap, use this init-d.scripts:
"Swapon" activates swapping (before you activate swapping, you need to create a swap-partition on your sd-card)
"swappines" sets swappiness from 60 (default) to 50 in order to increase ram-speed a little. you can change the value in the script by yourself.
"handleswap" has the same function as "swapon" but it activates "zram" aditionally - if you want to use "Swap" AND "zram".
Viel Spaß! (Have fun!).

Do u know many aosp ROMs that have WiFi calling?

Running smooth. I crashed while changing to the inverted theme but after it fast rebooted the theme applied and all was well. No complaints so far.

So far so good. I left everything stock after the install, and everything I use works great. I had to toggle bluetooth twice to sync with my car dock, but otherwise very smooth and responsive
Is this cyanogen or straight aosp? Just asking, will try out soon.

Its not straight AOSP like a Nexus 4 but it is AOSP. It has some features from CyanogenMod and others but its kept to a minimum. Feels like a tricked out Nexus 4 to me honestly.

Excuse me if this seems out of place or should be in a different section.
Does this ROM address correcting the wifi mobile data hand-off issue in 4.3. Or does that issue no longer exists? I have been on a 4.2 ROM for a few weeks b/c I like having not having to manually switch between wifi and data.
Vanir for the S3?! Woooooooah!
Looks like there's some bugs to be worked out but I can't wait to run this. Been using it on my Nexus 7 as my daily driver for a while.

This is what happened to me when I flashed. Signal would come and go and the error would keep popping up every time I clicked ok.
Hope this gets sorted because I love Vanir on my Nexus 7.

[ROM][t0ltetmo] Vanir 4.3.1 Nightlies

TeamVanir presents
VANIR
Yeah, it's got a HEMI.
Based off of AOSP Jelly Bean 4.2.2, with original modifications, as well as kangs from Linaro, CodeAurora, CyanogenMod, AOKP, EOS, Slim, and our belly buttons.
Our webkit, chromium, and skia are aosp/master merged with codeaurora, with linaro fixes on top.
BY LINARO, I MEAN GLOBAL "-O3 -fstrict-aliasing".... we didn't just switch toolchains. Here at Team Vanir, WE GO HARD.
Please see Github/gerrit for realtime updates,
Support can be best found here or in our Google Community
Sometimes live support can be found here #vanir on freenode, please be patient.... we have day jobs too.
VANIRAOSP
Vanir was founded on the premise of performance tuning Android. We are based on AOSP, but include features (many of which have been rewritten to be more efficient) from other ROMs.

I'm going to download and flash this tonight, maybe tomorrow morning latest. Anyways I went to the gapps link you provided and don't know which ones to download. Some say "don't brick your phone alpha" or something of that nature... I'm kinda hesitant to flash that, am I completely missing something or maybe just being paranoid??

Oh, I apologize for that. It seems that DHO's links are linking to something weird. O_O, lol. Download the one above that. (Nuke's nightlies). And as for the Gapps, its linked to the correct one? But, i'll definitely be taking down DHO's links for now to stop from confusion.

There was a couple of things I ran into in the short time I had it going. In settings -> about phone, the very bottom line (I forget what it says, something like TELinux or SELinux) I tapped on that a few times and it instantly threw my phone in a bootloop. I honestly don't know why I even tried that to begin with. Then after I pulled the battery I tried to go into recovery by holding the volumes and power button and it would just reboot normally. I might have brought these on myself though because I doubt I let it sit long enough, I was excited to flash something different and jumped the gun. I had to nand back to a previous for the night but I will definitely try to give it another go tomorrow if I have time. It does seem promising!!

Was that the first thing that you went after when you installed the rom? If not, how was the performance on it? I haven't tried the rom yet cause my internet has been acting up today. Do you think there was anything else wrong with it?
Hella smooth rom!
The only problem i'm having is Titanium Backup won't install any of my apps. It just freezes on the install.
(Even after changing the preferences to Legacy and etc.)
That's really the only deal breaker for me = /

Disregard my last reply yo this thread. Everything is working perfect!
I some how tapped SELinux in About phone and it changed the setting to "Enforcing" when it is supposed to be "Permissive".
Apps installed just fine. Thanks for putting in the word. :good:
