This is happening often. My phone says no sim card. I tried to find out how to remove it but I cannot find anything on this for my phone.
I have the samsung galaxy nexus lte verizon. Can someone please tell me how to remove this card. It maybe a stupid question but I do not see how to remove it. I think it is right above the battery there is a white paper sticking out of the slot. If I try and pull it out I think it is going to ripe.
Does the metal slot open or is there something I am not seeing.
If I do remove it can I get another one for the phone. I did read several people who had changed sim cards and it did not fix the error.
Not sure what to do. I have rooted phone. Miui OS. I have a picture of my phone see picture in above reply.
No sim card picture of phone
See attachment to this email for picture of my phone. To answer the question about no sim card and how to remove it?
press the end of it in and it should pop out some more
battery has to be out first.

Has anyone else come across the problem where the micro SD card seems to just stop being available to the phone? I'd say maybe once or so a day, anything that reads data from the SD card, such as the music app, stop working. If I try and play a song, it just hangs and does nothing.
I tried a search and somebody in the G1 forum had a similar problem but it didn't really contain any conclusions on what it is likely to be.
Anyone else had this issue? What is it most likely to be, the phone or card?
Thanks.
yeah I've had this occasionally with the camerea and seperately the 3d gallery software I installed.. have no idea why
Yea I've had that a couple of times actually. Just have to turn it off and on again and its ok, but its annoying.
Yeah, rebooting does sort it out, but it's starting to happen every day now, sometimes a couple times a day. If it's just a dodgy card or whatever I'd rather get T-Mobile to sort it sooner rather than later.
hmm a dodgy card.. included with the phone, that sucks
Backup your SD Card data and then try formatting it to see if that helps.
Cheers, will give that a go tomorrow. I might ring up T-Mob tomorrow anyway just to make them aware of the issue I'm having.
If I format it, will I be able to copy all the contents back on to it?

Yes, back it up to hard drive on your PC, then after you have formatted your SD card, copy back the contents from the hard drive to your Removable disk (SD card).
I've had this a few times Took the card out, reinserted and restarted the phone. Seemed to fix it, but it is annoying.
Sorry I can't remember when and how I know this.
But backup the card on your PC
Then format it in/with the phone and this should solve the problem I believe
I had killed one of my 16 GB card in Nexus one.
I found a problem that if i use Win 7 or Vista i must remove the device by using safely remove the USB device. Since now am doing this way i never had any problem.
Word of warning you could simply kill a card if you just remove a device.
My first thought was it has something to do with the USB connection. If you safely remove device in Windows - the phone 'prepares' the SD card.
I was having the same issue. I connected to the PC and mounted the SD card. I performed a disk check on the card and it found some errors which it then repaired. I then unmounted the card
I haven't had any issues since.
I formatted my card yesterday and haven't had any problems so far. thanks for the advice.
I ended up replacing the card. All of the previous advice didn't work for me or if it did it didn't last. I reckon there was a bit of a dodgy batch supplied by SanDisk.
~Since replacing I've had absolutely no problems whatsoever, it used to happen at least every 48hours. Very annoying when you try to take a photo and it tells you there's nowhere to save it.
I've been having problems too when taking pictures, which is really annoying!
And i'm not sure whether this is a related problem or not, but it could be...when trying to receive a file over bluetooth it sometimes says it doesn't have permission to receive the file or something along those lines, could this be the SD card playing up?
I'm on T Mobile, would they replace the SD card?
Not sure if it is the same reason, but I had all kinds of problems including the one you've described.
I'm on Orange, they told me that my SD card wasn't covered by Orange Care (the orange phone insurance). I said I didn't have Orange Care anyway and that surely it comes under the 12 months manufacturers warranty. They said pop it into the shop which is a bit of a drive and would cost me more than the value of a new card to get there.
At the time I wasn't certain it was the card as I didn't have a 2nd to try it with. Given my problem was very intermittent I decided the bother of going into the shop - it wasn't worth it for a £5 card. Now that I've bought a new one that works perfectly, I'm going to head into the shop with the old one next time I'm passing. The problem is I don't really need it replacing now! You could always lie and tell them you've tried your friends card at home for a couple of days and it worked perfectly?! No harm in trying.

Mhh - maybe I've had luck, but I use my over 1 year old 8gb cl6 card from magic/mt3g and never use that win function while unpluging anything (not while data transfer). So maybe depends on quality or manufacturer?

2-3 weeks since I've formatted my card and now I'm carefully unpluging my phone only when it's charging it hasn't happened ever since

I hate to say it, but it will happen again. Have card reader or other phone prepared, just in case your sd card stops working totally
so, I am usually pretty paranoid when it comes to my phone. I set up Avast anti-theft and I set a pin for my sim card.
if someone steals my phone, then I can text it and it'll track it on a map. If they take out the sim card and tries to use it on a different phone, they can't without the pin number.
now, the problem is, someone stole my phone. they turned it off the second they got it. I sent it the text to track it. after a while, I realized, the person would have to unlock my sim card before the text can be sent.
I did get it back, but to prevent this, is there something I can do to auto-unlock my sim card on my phone?

As far as I know from personal experience you can not unlock the sim without the pin code. It would take away the whole purpose of having security on your sim card. It is there just in case of this scenario. I mean you can leave it off if you want to be able to find it.
I leave mine with only the main screen lock for that reason. I want the phone to turn on so that prey cann do it's job. If I lost my phone's and couldn't recover it then it's easy enough to blacklist in the UK!

To keep the story short my G2 fell in water and I got it out fast and dried it out, everything worked fine afterwards except it will not read the sd card. When I go to settings it says sd storage unknown and if I go to something like gallery it says sd card unmounted or not present. Any ideas as to how I can fix this? If theres something I can buy and replace or what, any thoughts are welcomed.
First try reformatting sdcard if possible, try different sdcards, if all else fails buy a new sdcard tray/flex of eBay or wherever and replace it.

Is there a service manual for the G2, I searched but can't find one. I did find the part on ebay though and im reformatting now to see if thats it, my computer reads the sd card fine though.
My phone still vibrates as well if that helps since the vibrater part is attached to the sdcard tray.
Um manual? I don't know, if your looking to take it apart their are guides all over. The sdcard tray is really easy to replace. If computer reads it fine chances are you need to replace the tray. Even if the vibrator still works dosent mean the slot is bad. You can also open it up to check if there's corrosion at the contacts

Sorry guys I have recently purchase an SM-P601, (for about 2 weeks ago), It's amazing tablet ever i have, and also root it while it has continue Warranty period.
Few days ago, I inserted a SIM card into the tablet, it said "SIM Card inserted, reboot to access SIM Service", but it's quite bizarre - after reboot the tablet seem not recognize SIM card it said the same message pop up and required to reboot again. I follow the process (do reboot about 10 times).
Remind that: i freeze some services via Titanium backup that i believed all of them is bloatware.
After 10 times reboot, i did restore from TWRP (the backup i use for the first time i rooted the tablet) and this time it's fine. The tablet recognize the SIM card and no more reboot, 3G access like a cup-cake.
I tried to freeze less bloatware than later, it seem ok and no problem until now, Tablet doesn't recognize SIM anymore, the signal column is still 4-5 bars while the tablet said No SIM inserted. This time tablet doesn't required reboot anymore.
I wonder if anyone see the issue similar to me, and if anyone has solution for it please help me.
In worst scenario, i will try to go to Samsung Service to claim Warranty (about SIM reader replacement - but cross finger and hope they will do - regardless i tripped the knox flag into x1).
*update*: On the way to RMA, I returned to retailer first, and at there they said they will help me to return to Samsung Services. Cross finger and hope it's gonna be fine.
Read This and I just think if SIM Card holder is some kind of clipper or removable/ replacable then i should try myself too.
So I have a AT&T GN8. At one point I had some SIM card issues and I needed to insert and take the SIM card out a couple of times. In doing so, it led me to this problem.
- The SIM card insertion process now is reversed. For example, when I insert a SIM card and "click" it in, I get a window that pops up saying that the SIM card has been removed, please reboot the device. When I remove it, i.e., click on it to remove it, it says that the device detects a new SIM card, please reboot.
- The only way that I can get the SIM card to work is to click it out, but then leave it partially inserted for the device to read it. I then close the plastic SIM card cover to try to get it to stick in place, but sometimes the cover gets loose and the device notifies me that that the SIM card is out. Obviously not an ideal situation.
Does this make any sense at all? Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can fix this?
Thanks.

I only remove or install a SIM when the device is off. Maybe you can do this with the Note 8.0, but I like the tried and true method that works all the time for me without any hassles.

Thanks. Tried that a couple of times but no go. It's very odd, for some reason the mechanism thingy is reversed so clicked in signals out and vice versa. I finally put a piece of scotch tape on the SIM card cover to keep the cover from popping out with the SIM card. Works fine for now, but I'm sure the next time I'm overseas it will be a pain.
