Is there a version of this phone with 3G in the 850/1900 MHz AND 2100MHz frequencies?

I am a Kaiser (ATT Tilt / TyTn II) user who would like to upgrade to the Touch Pro II (Rhodium).
I know that the T-mobile version of this phone supports the 1700 & 2100 frequencies; while the European version of the phone supports the 900 & 2100 frequencies.
My Kaiser supports the 850/1900 AND 2100 Mhz frequencies, which means that I can travel all over the world and always find a 3G provider for my phone.
Does anybody know if there is a version of the Touch Pro II (Rhodium) that supports the same three 3G frequencies as my Kaiser; namely the 850/1900 MHz AND 2100MHz frequencies?
IMPORTANT: Please note that I am talking about the 3G (HSPA / WCDMA ) frequencies. I already know that the Rhodium is Quad band for on GSM/GPRS/EDGE; but for me to switch to this phone I MUST have triple band in the 3G bands; just like I have with the ATT Tilt right now.

My guess would be the Tilt 2 (AT&T's version of the TP2) could have the bands like that. But I don't for sure...

Does ATT have the Tilt 2? For months I saw posts on the internet saying that it would come to ATT, but as far as I can tell (from ATT website) it was never made available.

We're still waiting for it
Some current rumors put it in October for the WinMo 6.5 launch.

TP2 - T-mobile US version does support the following bands - no 1700
I believe the T-mobile US version does:
Here is what I see in the phone "band menu" - No 1700 support..(I believe TMo US did not win this US frequency..)
GSM(900&1800) + UMTS(900&2100)
or
GSM(1900&850) + UMTS (1900&850)
or
UMTS(2100&800)
I can switch from "Auto" to GSM or WCMA..

TMO has the 1700

No there is not currently a phone in the market that will enable you to use AT&T 3G.
Wait until AT&T releases their own version of the Touch Pro 2. (they will)
Or, if you don't care about 3G (you should care) then the European Version, T-Mobile version, Sprint version and Verizon versions will all work on AT&T's EDGE network.

Thanks for your reply and the reply of all others. So my own research confirms that there is no product out there yet that will support the same three bands as the HTC Kaiser (Tilt).
I am not in a rush at all. I was a Blackberry user for many years (had 3 blackberries) and I got fed up with Research in Motion because of their lack of operating system openness. That's when I switched to Windows Mobile...through a brand new ATT Tilt (Kaiser) which I purchased only a few months ago.
Its just that I am SO happy with my choice that I am thinking ahead to my next upgrade, since a bigger nad higher resolution screen, combined with faster processor, and more RAM would be ideal. But I am not planning to switch to the Rhodium anytime soon.
I will first wait for ATT to launch it at full price, then for people to start selling new units on Ebay, for competition to get intense, and prices to come down..and for xda-developers to really get active on that unit; then I will switch. So I am thinking that for all those things to happen I will wait about 6 to 12 months after launch date of the ATT model (which is the one I would need to get in order to gain the trully global flexibility) to switch over to that unit.

You can import Telstra Australia's version of TP2 which runs on UMTS 850mHz

Not on my T-Mobile SP2 (US) - I remember reading that they lucked out on some frequnecy but maybe it was not 1700...

Well the reason I stated that T-Mobile was using the 1700/2100 3G frequencies is because those are the one that they mention in the catalog of the SP2 that they make available through their website!
There is plenty of articles on the net which say that T-Mobile chose a frequency which is not used by any other carrier in the world, and they refer to the 1700 frequency. Here are just a few:

In September of 2008 T-Mobile began rolling out it's 3G network (operating on the 1700 MHz band)

Since the T-Mobile website says they support both 1700 and 2100, I wonder if a phone that supports the "850/1900 MHz AND 2100MHz" combination (such as the Tilt, and perhaps the Tilt 2) works with T-Mobile's 3G network?

It has 850MHz and 2100MHz, but not 1900MHz. It will work on part of AT&Ts 3G network but not all of it.

i see. Thanks for the reply. In that case I am going to wait for the ATT model as that has the frequency combination that fits best with my international work.

I found the HTC Touch Pro2 (US Version) at On The Go Solutions
Last Friday I found the HTC Touch Pro2 (US Version) at On The Go Solutions:

They told me it will be available in about 2 weeks. According to them it will run Windows Mobile 6.1 and not 6.5.

Yes, price is definitely going down and quickly. Don't be fooled into buying at such high prices. If you take a look at the T-Mobile model it is being sold on Ebay brand new, unopened for US $449; and that is only a few weeks after the product was released. I expect the same behavior with the ATT model, or even lower prices if it doesn't include a front camera...and has less memory (as some have speculated) than the other models.
I am going to wait 6 to 12 months to get mine, and I expect to be able to obtain a brand new one, without a contract for aproximately $300 within that time frame.

Nokia Lumia 900 may not support T-Mobile 3G after all.

Pocketnow has recently leaked specs for the Lumia 900. Among them is that the Lumia 900 will support the 1700MHz band.
It has concluded that the Lumia 900 will then support UMTS 3G for T-Mobile USA.
On closer inspection, however, this not be the case. You see, AT&T uses AWS for LTE, but not for UMTS.
We will take a look at the HTC Vivid and Samsung Galaxy S II Skyrocket (the only two LTE phone for AT&T at the moment) as examples. Both of these handsets uses the Qualcomm Snapdragon processor.
Both handsets support the 1700 Mhz band for LTE, but not for UMTS and as a result will not work on T-Mobile's UMTS network.
In addition, there has been little evidence that there exist Snapdragon processor that support pentaband.
As a result of this whole investigation and to the dismay of many T-Mobile customers, I have to conclude that the Lumia 900 will likely NOT support T-Mobile 3G.

That is not correct... T-mobile uses the AWS band (1700/2100) for it's UMTS network.
AT&T has never used the AWS band and after the failed merger is required to give some of it's AWS spectrum to T-Mobile as compensation. AT&T uses the 700 MHz band for it's LTE network.
If I remember correctly, there are no integrated LTE radios curently. The current crop of LTE phones have a separate LTE radio to complement the GSM/UMTS radio therefore, if the Ace actually does comes with a pentaband radio, it still is possible the AWS band will support T-Mobile's AWS UMTS network.

You are both right, at&t uses both the 700MHz and 1700MHz bands for its LTE network, as mentioned in this article http://www.theverge.com/2011/12/16/2640728/pantech-p9070-att-lte-850mhz-fcc. Remains to be seen what the 900 actually supports but if it was designed with the falied merger with Tmo in mind the 1700 band may not be used for LTE but could have been intended for Tmo compatibility. The 710 coming to Tmo next week has support for at&t's network so its possible the 900 was designed with the same intent. We'll know soon enough.

Don't worry. I am 99.99% sure that the Lumia 900 will be available in Europe.

Not exactly limit, but no HSDPA data access. Only EDGE/GPRS.

This is a huge disappointment. I want to like keep using WP7 but the hardware restrictions hobble the device makers too much. Nokia was the biggest proponents of pentaband but now they can't even support it due to chipset restrictions. It really puts a big hurdle in front of my decision to buy their phone when it requires me to use a carrier that costs twice as much and has data caps.
If this was pentaband I'd probably choose it above the Galaxy Nexus, but as it stands owning this phone would mean an extra $40 a month on my phone bill.

T-Mobile users need not worry though. T-Mobile is adding 1900MHz spectrum for HSPA+.

Ah well, what you're going to do?
T-Mobile always seems stuck with the low-end crap simply because they don't have the money to purchase exclusivity for the good stuff.
Makes me just want to sign up for their hotspot and start getting international unlocked phones instead and forget the whole idea of carrier branded phones.

Why shouldn't I blame the OS? Last I checked Nokia seemed pretty fond of pentaband devices. All their recent high end phones (up to and including the N9) were pentaband. They didn't stop using pentaband until they started developing WP7 phones and were forced to use chipsets that don’t support pentaband.
There are 3 reasons Nokia wouldn't make a pentaband WP7 phone;
1. The OS doesn't support any chipsets that would allow a pentaband radio
2. Nokia doesn't want to make pentaband phones
3. The carriers told Nokia not to make a pentaband phone
Option 1 is provably true. Option 2 is unlikely since Nokia had been making all their recent high end phones pentaband. Option 3 is also unlikely because the phone was first released in Europe where carriers have less sway and where Nokia was already selling pentaband phones.

The Nokia 710 has quad band UMTS frequencies and it uses the exact same chipset as the other 2nd gen WP7 devices so its definitely possible for Nokia to at least inclde support for both US carriers, though not pentaband. This was obviously a deliberate decision to make it at&t compabible only.

Is anyone using the international version of the Note 2 (Which I gather has the model number N7100) on T-mobile in the US? I am only interested in makign sure HSPA+ "4G" speeds will work for me.
In case originating country matters, I am looking to import from India.

The 3g speed will not work on T-mobile only edge. I am using At&t and I am having hspa+.

Have you tried using it? The 7100 specs show support for 2100 band o 3G and wikipedia says T-Mobile runs on 1700/2100 for 3G. Do both bands need to be supported for it to work?

Yes, TMo US uses a split AWS band 1700/2100 for 3G and needs both to work.
However, in some cities TMo has refarmed some spectrum at 1900MHz for 3G use, and if you are lucky enough to be in one, you would get 3G.

For t-mobile USA, their HSPA+ network (or 4G you called) use AWS band, which refers to 1700/2100. The international version N7100 is UMTS/HSPA 800/850/1900/2100. This N7100 is missing the t-mobile USA magic number 1700. So you will not get their HSPA+ speed.
However, with recent t-mobile project on refarming their PCS1900 frequency in the US, the N7100 will work on HSPA+ network, BUT not at current moment in all states. Only specific cities such as Las Vegas, NV will work.
T-mobile USA promised the PCS1900 band will fully operate by end of 2012, so i would say NO for now, but yes in year 2013.

Thanks guys, I really appreciate the input. Gives me a better idea of what I am looking at. I spoke to T-Mobile and it looks like my area does not have 3G on 1900/2100 as yet. (Though a couple of towns close by seem to have gotten it recently).
I was looking at getting the phone quickly as I am stuck with a Nokia N9 with a cracked screen and need a new phone.
I really dislike the T-mobile branding on the phone. Are there any other issues like locked Bootloader or T-Mobile bloatware I should be worried about? And do they sell unlocked versions from day one?

well, in my opinion i would say i will get the t-mobile branded t-mobile galaxy note II. Reason why is the FCC report for SGH-T899 shows it is LTE ready. N7100 is LTE capable, but you wont be able to use T-mobile LTE network when they finsihed deploying. Again, T-mobile LTE magic number is 700 and 1700 for their LTE band frequency. I am not exactly sure if N7100 has 700 mhz band, but if not, then it will be stuck in HSPA+ while others can enjoy the LTE speed.
Yes, SGH-T899 does have t-mobile bloatware, and bootloader might be unlocked but since you are in this forum, so i am sure great developers in this forum can get easily fixed.
They dun sell unlocked version, but if you are the t-mobile primary account holder, you can call them for the unlock code. They will email you unlock code and instruction with 48 hours.
Side Note - N7100 UMTS/HSPA max speed is 21Mbps. T-mobile branded SGH-T899 is 42.2Mbps max speed for HSPA+.

I am currently using my GT-I9300 on T-Mobile's 1900 band in Las Vegas and i'm getting "ok" speeds of about 4-6mbps down and 1mbps up in certain areas and at certain times. For example during night time i get that speed but throughout the day i get 2-4 down and 1 up. It's ok, not that great...not awful either but it works. I'm honestly tired of having a beast phone with a crap internet connection. Take the bad with the good if you can.

I'm a little confused. I thought (and was pretty sure) N7100 does not support 4G LTE.

Hi, I am.
I live in the DC area and usually get h+. Only problem is that when I am moving around and going into an area that hasn't been refarmed, I pass to edge...
It got so annoying that I bought a nexus 4 and started using that, which always worked on h+ seamlessly.
Too bad I got tired of it after two weeks and went back to the note2! I'm hoping that tmobile will improve the areas it covers with h+...

I wish this was true..I have a Galaxy Note II GT-N7105T:
2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 850 / 900 / 1900 / 2100
HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100 - N7105
4G Network LTE 800 / 900 / 1800 / 2600 - N7105
I live in an area in Las Vegas where 1900 is supposedly refarmed but I am only still getting EDGE.

My intention is to use the phone here in the United States on T-Mobile and also in Philippines(via a local SIM card purchased there). I've heard that the International version(N9005) only supports 2G(Edge) on T-Mobile here in the United States. Does that version support all bands(2G, 3G, 4G, 4G LTE, etc.) in Philippines?
Does anyone know if the T-Mobile unlocked version of the phone will also support the same bands used in Philippines when I take it there?
Because it seems in my case it might be better to get the T-Mobile unlocked version of the phone so I could possibly still use it in Philippines at their maximum available speed in addition to being able to use the maximum speeds on T-Mobile's network here in the U.S.
Also, are there any specific pros and cons with each of the two versions of the phone?
Any info would be very appreciated.

Thank you for your response and the helpful link. It looks like both the International(N9005) and T-Mobile unlocked versions of the phone will support both of the 2G and 3G bands. For the 4g band, the respective phone covers the following Philippines 4g bands:

unlocked T-Mobile version: LTE 2100

Definitely T-Mobile version unlocked.
Not just it has penta-HSPA, but you can use wifi calling with T-Mobile SIM attached to keep using your US number under wifi mode (and save you from roaming).

Do you guys know, if the unlocked t mobile version will allow us to use it with local SIM card when we are travelling oversea?

The i337 (AT&T model) does the same LTE bands as the T-Mobile model. It only lacks AWS HSPA+ (3G), which the mod in this thread enables. I would have gotten the M919, but T-Mobile doesn't sell the 32GB model, plus AT&T variants are generally cheaper.
No model sold in the US (including the i9505G Google Edition) will do 800 or 2600 MHz. The i337M does though (Rogers Canada). Europe uses completely different LTE frequencies than the US.[/QUOTE] END QUOTE

The m919 according to this supports 2 and 5 bands that the i337 does not, i am new to this but as i said i picked this phone for international use aswell and would like to know the truth. But according to my information, Vodaphone in Germany uses to main bands 7 and 20. 7 Being the one that the US variant could receive.
since the I337 is basically the same in Canada, i looked up Bell

Both 4 and 7 are support by both devices, since 7 is on freq 2600mhz in Canada and is the same I337 as AtnT would it not be right to assume that the phone could get band 7 in europe? It is true that AtnT does not use those bands in the US but that does not mean the phone cannot support them. Furthermore i picked the M919 because of its native AWS support and the 30$ 5GB 4GLTE Tmobile Plan BOYA talk about savings..... I am curious to know if im correct, my research lends me to think I am. Europe uses mostly band 3 and 7! 7 Being the one you want!

They list there LTE in MHz but i believe 2600 IS band 7 which the US variants support. My confusion is that AWS is listed in there LTE part and in the US its under the HSPA part. A little clarification and first hand experience with internation use of US variant S4s would be great for poeple who have trouble getting good information from the other side of the world!!
Worst case tho im sure you can always get texting and calling and stick to Wi-Fi while travelling, but to us super-users, thats like going back to dial up.

Lol why are you copying and pasting my posts? As for your question, AWS is used for LTE on T-Mobile (and in very few areas by AT&T, which is why their devices also do AWS LTE). However, AT&T requests that AWS HSPA+ be disabled on their devices because they only use 850/1900 MHz for HSPA+ and it would only benefit those looking to switch to T-Mobile if they left that 1700 MHz band activated.
