Hello all!
I'm rather newly rooted, and have been running CM10 nightlies. I absolutely love the ROM, but it could be better on battery life. I've heard this ktoonsez kernel is great for battery life, but after searching google and these forums, I can't find any information on how to get and install the kernel with CM10. Does it even work with CM10? Everything I've seen has it working with AOKP, but no mention of CM10.
Thanks for any help guys, and sorry if this is found somewhere else on the site. I really did search a lot before posting this.
Download the aosp jellybean one.
It is in original development forum.

Yea, I actually downloaded that one a bit earlier. And you're positive it works well with CM10?
Yes. Download the aosp JB version. As always make a backup before you flash anything like a kernel or a new rom.

Task650 I have been following your thread for quite sometime now and I have to say THANK YOU for all that you do. I searched the thread on how to install your custom ROM [which I've been using since the early late September build]. I am currently on the 10/13 build and was looking to update to the 10/16 when I get home tonight. I want to also update my Kernel but I did not see how to install this...is this built in on the 10/16 ROM
Where can I find the how to install the current Kernel?
Thanks!!!
The kernel thread gives you all infos you need to flash it.
Always read the OP and you will be set

How, if it is possible can you get it on the US versions of the s3 running rooted stock? Is there like a installable zip or something? Thanks

I'm not sure if there's a way to get it on rooted stock. But I do know the synergy rom with multi window is incredible. My phone has been stable and smooth running for awhile, had a little issue but smoothed it out pretty easily.

Not going to happen buddy, sorry. Unless you can port it yourself, it's just to much to try and get working on 4.1.1

Doesn't work like that you'll have to go the custom rom root (see what I did there?)

I know when I had my Galaxy SkyRocket, you could replace the samsung apps with the ASOP apps such as messaging, phone, ect.. is that possible to do on the S4 as well? If so, can someone point me in the right direction?
Thanks!
I would like to know this as well.

The browser and keyboard work as far as I know. I tried the aosp messaging app but it kept force closing. Some of the apps need to be tied into the tw framework to work properly.

Is that even possible?

I think for that you need to download a T-Mobile based ROM. Yes they are cross compatible from what I know.
Wi-Fi calling is a T-Mobile only feature so it isn't on At&t ROMS. Nor is it an At&t feature.

Thanks SuperAfnan. Which ROM do you suggest? Preferably one that does not brick my phone.

I like the stock roms, but roms come down to preference usually. DeTmobilized is awesome! So is hyper drive, dandroid, and many others. I would start with DeTmobilized though and see how you like it. Enewman did an amazing job with the aroma installer.

You can try this. I've used the kernel before, but haven't tried the dual boot function.
