Hello all!
I'm rather newly rooted, and have been running CM10 nightlies. I absolutely love the ROM, but it could be better on battery life. I've heard this ktoonsez kernel is great for battery life, but after searching google and these forums, I can't find any information on how to get and install the kernel with CM10. Does it even work with CM10? Everything I've seen has it working with AOKP, but no mention of CM10.
Thanks for any help guys, and sorry if this is found somewhere else on the site. I really did search a lot before posting this.
Download the aosp jellybean one.
It is in original development forum.

Yea, I actually downloaded that one a bit earlier. And you're positive it works well with CM10?
Yes. Download the aosp JB version. As always make a backup before you flash anything like a kernel or a new rom.

Task650 I have been following your thread for quite sometime now and I have to say THANK YOU for all that you do. I searched the thread on how to install your custom ROM [which I've been using since the early late September build]. I am currently on the 10/13 build and was looking to update to the 10/16 when I get home tonight. I want to also update my Kernel but I did not see how to install this...is this built in on the 10/16 ROM
Where can I find the how to install the current Kernel?
Thanks!!!
The kernel thread gives you all infos you need to flash it.
Always read the OP and you will be set

Hello!
I've installed the Rogue Kernel v1.1.3
"Outlaw"
How can I uninstall this kernel and install the Stock Kernel back? Please, give me a link on the stock kernel only?
I really need it. After I flashed this kernel I started to have some very strange errors.
Thank you!

I was just thinking guys which ROM do you guys think is better.
Sent from my SGH-I747 using xda premium
canned answer follows: no comparison threads allowed. Try for yourself and let us know your thoughts about both.
There is a ROM poll thread in the general section you can look at to see what everyone is using
PS: Euroskank Jellybro is another JB rom out there.

So, I was digging around today and I kept ending back to a thread in the SKYROCKET side of the Galaxy S II forum. Are ALL kernels compatible or does the dev have to compile for both devices? (I did use google) (I did search forum)

Are the skyrocket kernels interchangeablewith 989 ROMs? Yes. As long as the kernel is made for the ROM. Like AOKP, CM9 and the like. Also the rotation .zip would be in order if using a skyrocketkernel

Awesome, much appreciated kind sir.

Have to flash the fix for auto rotation and if u want a beautiful Ui and use 7-4 paranodroid and skyrocket kernel over flash fix
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda app-developers app
Ahh, so it would be ok to use Instigator's kernel, but I would need to flash rotation fix, correct?

They are based on the Android Open Source Project. No carrier overlay, pure Android; though AKOP tends to have a few more things in it
Google can help define them. That's how I learned the difference.
ROM - OdexedBlue
Baseband - LI3
Kernel - Stock LI3
XDA Premium - Support our developers, modders, themers, and other contributors!

I've wondered the same thing I thought aokp was aosp? That aokp was just the name of the ROM?

Yes, we can use Jeff's ROM as a base for ports until we get official builds.

Re: Q/a wip cm10.1
Can't wait for an updated PAC or JellyBam on 4.2! By the way, is there a 4.2 kernel for this yet? Haven't really been keeping up with kernel progress.

Thanks for this thread. I started feeling weird for a moment when we got off topic. Can we put links and zoos in the op? Like suggested flash able gapps, inverted apps, mods and etc?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T989 using xda premium
I'm gonna wait and let more of the bugs get worked out. I would recommend the 12-12-12 gapps. Just search Google gapps. You can also use Justunbean inverted gapps, they update them pretty regular and are up to date currently. Just remember when switching gapps to do a backup first than in cwm factory reset/ wipe cache/wipe delvik. This will ensure less bugs and errors. Happy flashing

Just curious as to what your obsession with linaro is ? I've seen probably no less than 10 posts from you about getting it implemented.
