Hello everybody,
I was using my Optimus G for one month, I was rooted it and installed CM 10.2, today I decided to install Custom Kernel (this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2312735) and I did it via CWM (I think that was my mistake). So now I'm getting kernel crash and I can't boot. I know, that I can unbrick my device using KDZ, but how to get into download mode? I'm pressing vol+up and vol+down and than I'm plugging my optimus G to USB but nothing happens. Any ideas? Thank you very much.
Edit: I found, how to enter to download mode, but maybe it's possible to enter to the CWM and just flash my CM 10.2 ROM again so all my apps could stay in my phone?
Edit 2: everything works, huge thanks to Jishnu Sur . What I did? Just enter to CWM (enter to fastboot, using vol+ and power buttons and than, enter to recovery - just click your vol- button many times and than click power button) and flash your ROM again, without wiping any data and etc.

hello
i have an unlocked boot loader and rooted optimus g E971. today i flashed rom kitkat 4.4 everything went well no issues. I decided to go back to my back up and reflashed my stock rom once again everything went well. i noticed i was still rooted when i went back to stock but wasn't when on 4.4 which is another topic later. anyways i decided to install rom manager to experiment and i had stability issues with it. i noticed the phone would crash and reboot with secure booting error, i was able several times to restart phone and use. Now the phone cracshed before i could delete rom manger and im stuck on secure booting error. I followed this guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=44874388&postcount=36 however the problem is i can't get into download mode or recovey... Phone does nothing but say secure booting error, boot certification verify. trying numerous times nope not happening .after reading several posts im assuming this is all because the bootloader was not unlocked after reflashing back to stock.. is my phone garbage or how can i fix...pls help :crying:
This means you didn't unlock the bootloader.
To enter download mode, turn off the phone, then press vol up+vol down at the same time and plug the micro usb cable to pc. You will enter download mode. After using kdz updater, make a hard reset by turning off phone, then press vol down+power at the same time, until the hard reset menu will appear. Press power twice to confirm and that's it. A new stock phone.
After this, you can root and unlock it again. Just remember to put somewhere safe the freegee folder after you unlock.

Press just the power button for a minute
Now press both volume buttons and plug in the USB cable. It should go into download mode.
If not press power again for a minute and plug in charger and see if it shows regular charging animation.

Hello guys,
I am experiencing a hard issue with my GPad. I have the V500 model (bought in France), I have unlocked it, and rooted it (everything was fine).
I decided to install CM ROM, so I have installed TWRP using the loki method, booted in recovery, formatted everything except the external SD card (the CM ROM zip file was in it).
The installation of the CM ROM failed, it showed an error. So I decided to reboot the tablet but I am now stuck on the LG logo, nothing boots. When I decide to enter Recovery mode (without USB cable plugged), it shows the screen OpenRecoveryScript, and then the tablet restarts. I can't access the main menu (see pic 1).
The only thing I have managed to do is to access the tablet via ADB. Unfortunately I don't seem to have root access...and it shows an error message (see pic 2)
I have tried lots of things these past 2 days to try and restore the system but I feel really lost now !! :crying:
Would you mind helping me with my issue ?
Thank you very much in advance!
Follow the instructions in this thread to flash the stock ROM. The only difference is that the button sequence to enter Download Mode on the G Pad is to hold volume up and volume down (not just volume up) while plugging in the USB cable.
First off you didn't read. Second off you have the wrong recovery version installed. You need 2.6.3.1 to flash CM
Thank you coleam, I will try this method and give you an update!
Hope it'll work..!
same problem

I met the question before, I resolved the question with guide in this bbs, But i can't find the thread again, So I write it with my poor english. Wish this can help you.
1. Press the volume down+power button
2. when you see the LG logo, relaese the power button,(Don't relaese the volume down button)
3. Press Volume up and power button immediately (Now, you press those three buttons, the volume down, volume up and power)
4. Wait a while, you can see the recovery mode.

Thank you so much coleam, I've been able to restore the tablet and install CM ! :good:
Hi all.
I need help from a hivemind. I've got a LG G E988 with E98820B firmware. I've rooted it via ioroot (successfully) and tried to install custom recovery via freegee, and now my phone is not booting into download mode. If I try to reboot it from my PC using adb, I get "boot certification verify" error. Otherwise phone is booting fine into it's stock HK firmware.
So, long story short, I need download mode to flash stock european firmware but I have this strange error. Closest thing to solution of my problem is this thread , but I want something less radical. In case if something less radical exists.
Any ideas?

Did you power off device via home power button? When you power down, then try to power back on just hit the power button then hold the plus and minus volume rocker while letting go of power button.
Yes. It casually boots up into rom. I think I somehow messed up my recovery. So is there any way to restore recovery, or flash custom recovery, without booting up in download mode?

Enable USB Debugging
Connect mobile with PC and select LG Software (Wait for 1-2 minutes and let the drivers install)
Once drivers are installed, Run LG flash tool and start flashing KDZ. It will automatically boot it into download mode and flashing process will start. (If flashing stops / stuck at 4% and your phone is in download mode, remove USB cable, close LG flashtool.... connect USB cable again and restart KDZ flashing)
Tried. Now I can't boot into download mode AND can't boot into rom. And none of my computers see my phone in this state. Any possible explanations for such situation? And what to do about it..

You need to unlock the Bootloader first.
I used FreeGee on my E975.
After you can access the bootlaoder to flash a new Recovery (i suggest the new TWRP) or use the one from FreeGee.
If FreeGee is not working there will be any other method to unlock your bootlaoder, but this is what you need!
Hi, I'm trying to find a way to try to recover an LG D680 smartphone. I have a weird problem with it. It used to get stuck on LG's Logo boot. I used Download Mode and LG Mobile Tool to fix it and update it. Everything was ok but 1 month later this happened again, but this time it cannot get fixed.
I tried to reinstall software through KDZ and flash tools (2014) in Normal and CSE mode. I tried Iusacell (AT&T) images (V10A_, V10B_, V20A_ and V20B_) wich are Jelly and Kitkat versions of images. Last I tried to reinstall with V20A_ Factory Free image and still problem, but now there's another problem. It seem that there are not really hardware issues since device is correctly recognized in Windows System, can enter Download Mode, LG Flash Tool can still manipulate hardware (Install, reboot and finish install). The new problem is that even after reinstalling any of the images it keep looped and stuck at the "Android Hard Reset" icon, the one of the Android with the red triangle.
I tried using fastboot and adb but devide is not recognized by fastboot device even after installing drivers.
Is there another way to completely wipe ROM and install System and Boot clean? I already have system.img and boot.img files, but can't find a way to do this nor what I do works.

If it is looping on LG's boot animation, then you should boot into stock recovery and do a factory reset from there - saved me from sending my E988 to service last time I flashed stock. Try one of these recovery combos: Vol Up + Power, Vol Up + Vol Down + Power, Vol Up + Home + Power, one of those should work. My E988 uses Vol Up+ Power - have to press both while device is powered off, and keep them pressed until capacitive buttons flash twice. Not sure how will that work on D680 though (is that a G Pro Lite?)

Yep! It's an G Pro Lite. I'm still trying some of th combinations. What is stock recovery? Should it show more options than just hard reset?

If it's anypart similar to ones found on E98x, it will have only hard reset, update install and reboot options. I really don't know much about Lite series, probably there is more info about recovery in their subforum here.
