Hey guys,
I've been trolling the forums for some time now, and I have yet to find the answer that I am looking for in regards to cooking my own ROMs - specifically for the HTC Vogue (Bell). I have looked through all sorts of stickies/readmes, but I still cannot figure out how to put it all together...
I've got a stock ROM from Bell, it has been extracted (so I have the bootloader, .nbh file and so on)...
Now HOW do I extract the .nbf, or even edit it for that matter? The only solution that I have found is the UNIX-based one, but I'll be honest, PERL and I dont get along well...is there a GUI or commandline based solution for WIN32?
I feel dumb for asking, but if someone could help me figure out the editing/compiling/flashing aspect, I'd be forever grateful
Thanks.
Most of the kitchens will take that nbh and parse it out in to the OEM and SYS folders you need.
I would suggest you search for DogGuy's command-line kitchen, and use that as a learning tool as he has batch files that automate most everything, and yet you can go through them to better understand what is happening.
Good luck!
Also some recent threads at ppcgeeks on this topic with useful info.

Yeah, I did check that post, however, it seemed that they were a step ahead of me...the tools that were provided did not (both gave application errors on launch...?).
Thanks for the replies, any one else have other tips, pointers, etc?
PPCGeeks.com is the answer...I still haven't found it yet...there's too much info on that site. Have you seen this thread:
http://forum.ppcgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=18745
By following that method its a TON of work...and that's using a 'kitchen' someone already made. What you and I want to do is create our own kitchen by stripping a stock rom...and there aren't any guides on how to do that...I'm assuming because that's even MORE work. So basically a (TON of work x MORE work) = Fu%$ that.
If you find a somewhat easy way to do this before I do, post it for us!

Hi,
I have been searching all over the forums and online for a way to create and sign themes using my MacBook Pro running Leopard. I followed a guide http://www.threaded.com/2009/02/getting-started-with-google-android-on.html but as soon as I entered the make command, it would do its thing and then stop because it could not find clearsilver-jni. I'm really frustrated, and about to make a Linux dual boot partition (would that even help?) If anyone has some tips or instructions, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

It looks like you are starting from scratch. Is this true? If so, I would start here (this worked on my MacBook Pro w/Leopard).
Download the Mac OS X version from here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/index.html
Install with these directions (follow these step by step):
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/installing.html
I also chose to install Eclipse (Ganymede version); it works well for me.
This will give you the SDK, a programming environment, and of course adb.
Oh--and if your issue is only about signing the files, check out this tutorial:
http://www.androiddevelopment.org/2009/01/19/signing-an-android-application-for-real-life-mobile-device-usage-installation/
Wow, thank you.
I've been wondering the exact same thing.
Thanks!
Thank you, Derfolo. I already had th SDK up and running, but I really appreciate the simplification of signing files. That's awesome, because now I can modify any theme released, resign it, and throw it on my phone. Thanks again! And no problem ffff00 (hexadecimal?) Have a good one guys.

Hi there,
First of all! Great forum! You guys have build a great community and I like it. But I hope you can help me with this. i know there are a lot of threads about this, but because all the different type of phones/android versions ect... I don't know what to do...
My question, how can I get Adroid running on my HTC Touch Pro 2 (Rhodium). I have the standart version, so not a branded one.
I've tried to install it but android won't launch. Maby one of you could create a mini tutorial or a noob tutorial, because I think there are more people like me (with less knowedge of phone tech) who want to run android on their phones. I hope you could help me!
Thanks!
Kind Regards,
Sami

Haret is part of the android program. (haret.exe)
You can either use a file explorer to navigate to storage card/android/haret
or with the .cab installs (anything after 2/22) you will get an icon in your start menu.

I have Android installed on my phone and it works fine except one MAJOR thing. I messed up the touch screen calibration and now I can't use the touch screen in android and I cant figure out how to recal the touch screen in android.
Got it. i just deleted the ts calibration file from the android project folder and started android again.

Ok man maybe you can help me out with the problem im having. I go to file explorer and i launch Haret.exe and it immediately takes me to the linux booting page with the penguin at top. But it soon stops saying "Cant access tty. Job control turned off. And it doesnt move from there. What am i doing wrong?
delete all the contents from the .cab file you downloaded, make sure your memory card has wiped any remaining files from the original download, re-install and make sure you are downloading the correct .cab file for your handset, install to memory card and try again.
Yo Ihwparis chill out. This is a forum for information trading and gathering. Everyone was a noob at one time or another including you and asked questions that have been asked a million times already. Stop treating people like idiots. Help them or stop reading the thread. Someone else will help them out. It's not that serious. I can tell you one problem here that I encountered was a thread would be started and trail off into someting completely different never answering the first question. After reading pages upoon pages you get nothing. Some people like myself have real lives and real jobs and dont have time to sit here and read every post. If you take it so serious maybe you should sticky an informative how to guide and maybe that will stop people from bothering you so much.

I was actually on XDA for about 6 months, reading, before I finally decided to even MAKE an account, because I didn't want to be "That Noob". It was about another 6 months to a year before I posted anything at all. As you said yourself, most questions have already been asked a million times. This means that it is only a matter of reading, before you find someone that has asked the same question. In most cases once you find the question, and read a little further it leads you to the answer. He was smart enough to post in the correct sub-forum, which means he must have read through the forums a bit anyways. It wouldn't have taken much more work to read the top 3 sticky threads in that same sub-forum, and find the answer to the question.
I can get the whole thing to load however I cannot ever get the start screen (touch the androind to start) to ever let me touch it. The only thing that works is the keyboard input. Any suggestions?

Guide on how to actually use Radiocomm 11.11.11?
I've only seen screen shots for it but it has a lot of options and looks like a really complex program. All I need it for is to simply flash SPRecovery.spf on my phone when I root it. So could anyone link me to a Radiocomm flashing guide or at least tell me what I need and what to do and if I need to do it before or after rooting? Thanks and I've rooted a lot but never changed recoveries, all the one click root apps give me recoveries that I hate such as RA-eris V1.6.2 because they are a pain. I'm manually rooting my Eris [I've already done manual rooting before] and just choose my own recovery and SPRecovery has gotten a lot more kudos than RA-eris v1.6.2 [Amona Ra?] and ClockworkMod. If anyoen also knows of any other recovieres they like better than please let me know, but for now just a good how to guide for flashing with Radiocomm. Thanks a lot in advance guys! =]
Hi There,
I apologize for not having any links off hand, (though i may be able to update int he future).
I know i have ran across a few guides for radiocomm on the internet... Try using Google.com, and keep an eye out for .pdf files..
I am sure you can tinker around in the menu's also... It is a very robust program...
And, just curious... Did you mean to say .SBF file? instead of .spf?
Good Luck
Here You Go,

yep this tool is interresting...
Here is version 11.12.2
Thanks for posting these files but I can't get them to work. They will not find any of my phones. I have the motorola drivers installed and my puter finds the phone but the radiocomm program won't connect, it stays red. I am running windows 7 with motorola 5.5 drivers, net framework 4 is installed. I tried it in compatability mode, the phones are set to pc mode. my phones are a droid 2 global, and two are a bionic. Can someone please help me out?? Thanks!
For all to know.
The low level tools are written for use with WinXP or lower.
Use with a newer Windows in XP-Mode at your own risk.
That's why to keep an old XP machine (or Win2K) on hand.

Well technically the most important thing with these kind of programs is the bits. Most of them are written for 32bit OS.
I'm using win8 32bit and all of my tools work fine. Just used Radiocomm today and yesterday to read some info from some older motorolas.
Granted not *everything* will work. I had to use Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 or newer to get it work right.
5.0.1 or older would BSOD on me when I tried to do too much with the RIM Virtual Serial Port.
How to use this program to enable the FM radio on my Motorola phone? Someone claims to have done this using this program but he's not responding to requests for more information. I've installed the program but don't want to brick my phone. In the past I've messed with other programs like QPST and QXDM to enable additional bands so I'm not an entire newbie. Thank you.

Windows 10 compiled for the original Surface RT devices has leaked.

Another thing we need to find out, does it require configuration to boot? Or is it just a bootable install image?
Well I manage to get the file. Its not iso its a zip. But I have honestly not Idea what to do with it, and I try in all inventive ways, LOL!. I could make a torrent file if any its interested on. With the compromise on do a tutorial later if some one manage to do anything with it.

In the end, I won't know how exactly to fix the timebomb unless I can see the file itself. Replacing the drivers are just as easy as copy paste into the wim file.

PM you in a moment!
I've been trying to get this running on Surface 2, the way I've been trying with this is a dual boot with RT 8.1 and I've partitioned my device to allow roughly 12GB for the Windows 10 installation.
Unfortunately there is an issue with nvpep causing a BSOD that is beyond my abilities to solve, without nvpep nothing else will work. I don't have a Surface RT to test with but I read that this issue does not manifest on those devices, however it still won't work out of the box.
I've pieced together some information that might be of help if your trying to install that applies to RT and 2.
Make sure secureboot debug policy is applied and don't forget to enable testsigning and nointegritychecks. If you have Jailbreak killing updates installed its probably faster to factory reset your device.
You will need to replace sdbus.sys and ststor.sys in \Windows\system32\drivers\ with versions from RT 8.1.
You will need to edit the registry on build 15035 to disable UAC - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System - EnableLUA set value to 0.
Before booting 15035 you will need to create new directory on EFIESP in \EFI\Microsoft\Recovery and then create an empty BCD Store in that location.
If you don't add the Surface 2 drivers it will actually boot to the desktop but no devices will work (Pretty much every device requires nvpep up and running first), you can play around with it using a USB keyboard and mouse but its a little pointless at the moment.
Would it be possible to share the build with wider community, so more people can have a shot at getting it up and running? I know I would love to play around with it.

Please make no mistake on the significance of said leak. There is no other known more-recent ARM 32bit Windows 10 build available on the Internet. The driver hacking community could appreciate a more open leak very much (just look at what it did to the Lumia 950/XL hacking scene around gus33000).. Sites like uup dot rg-adguard dot net fail to list this build.
