Creating Themes in Mac OS X - G1 Themes and Wallpapers

Hi,
I have been searching all over the forums and online for a way to create and sign themes using my MacBook Pro running Leopard. I followed a guide http://www.threaded.com/2009/02/getting-started-with-google-android-on.html but as soon as I entered the make command, it would do its thing and then stop because it could not find clearsilver-jni. I'm really frustrated, and about to make a Linux dual boot partition (would that even help?) If anyone has some tips or instructions, I would be eternally grateful. Thank you!

It looks like you are starting from scratch. Is this true? If so, I would start here (this worked on my MacBook Pro w/Leopard).
Download the Mac OS X version from here:
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/index.html
Install with these directions (follow these step by step):
http://developer.android.com/sdk/1.5_r3/installing.html
I also chose to install Eclipse (Ganymede version); it works well for me.
This will give you the SDK, a programming environment, and of course adb.

Oh--and if your issue is only about signing the files, check out this tutorial:
http://www.androiddevelopment.org/2009/01/19/signing-an-android-application-for-real-life-mobile-device-usage-installation/

Wow, thank you.
I've been wondering the exact same thing.

Thanks!
Thank you, Derfolo. I already had th SDK up and running, but I really appreciate the simplification of signing files. That's awesome, because now I can modify any theme released, resign it, and throw it on my phone. Thanks again! And no problem ffff00 (hexadecimal?) Have a good one guys.

I'm trying to find a easy to install iPhone theme

Hi guys,
I have an HTC Touch Diamond and need some advice from the pros .
I've never installed any type of theme on my phone, so I need a place to find a theme that gives easy to understand directions for someone that doesn't have much experience with that.
Thanks,
Gavin
You can try iFonz.
It is not a simple theme but a full software for make a PPC similar to iPhone.
You can read info here
Thanks for the link
I'm sorry, but I have another question.
It says I need .net framework? How would I know if I have that? I don't see it in my programs list.
Thanks.

[Q] Ubuntu on my G2?

Before I begin, let me explain.
I checked links in the sticky in the Dev thread, but the links are all broken, and multiple issues have been reported.
When I still had my G1, I made it the ultimate nerd machine. I was able to get Debian on it, including AndroidVNC and LXDE, all thanks to JesusFreke's RC33 modded firmware.
Of course 2.5 years later, times changed. security was amped up, etc.
I LOVE Ubuntu (makes me wonder why I stuck with Micro$oft Window$ for the last five years) Can anyone please direct me to a tutorial optimized for the G2/Desire Z/etc. where the links aren't broken?
On a side note, can anyone tell me where I can find a tutorial to install adb/AndroidSDK on my netbook (on Ubuntu 10.10)? I'm tired of having to use Window$ just to make use of adb.
All help would be greatly appreciated

Take a look here: http://wiki.cyanogenmod.com/index.php?title=Howto:_Install_the_Android_SDK
I used this and have everything working as expected. I even did the setup under Oracle's VM VirtualBox in my Win7 setup. Flawless.

I gave up on trying to run a permanent Ubuntu image on my phone. It's not that the hack doesn't work, it's that it only works once. I'm still having a fun time showing off my Gingerbread-fueled G2 to the coworkers still on stock Froyo (and then offer to root and upgrade it in exchange for money).

RadioComm v11.11.11

Here we have it,
RadioComm support tool, used for Motorola Handsets.
I found the link somewhere on the net
This is the latest edition i have found so far,
Good Luck

Like the availability, Bump the 'Thanks' button. ;]
Guide on how to actually use Radiocomm 11.11.11?
I've only seen screen shots for it but it has a lot of options and looks like a really complex program. All I need it for is to simply flash SPRecovery.spf on my phone when I root it. So could anyone link me to a Radiocomm flashing guide or at least tell me what I need and what to do and if I need to do it before or after rooting? Thanks and I've rooted a lot but never changed recoveries, all the one click root apps give me recoveries that I hate such as RA-eris V1.6.2 because they are a pain. I'm manually rooting my Eris [I've already done manual rooting before] and just choose my own recovery and SPRecovery has gotten a lot more kudos than RA-eris v1.6.2 [Amona Ra?] and ClockworkMod. If anyoen also knows of any other recovieres they like better than please let me know, but for now just a good how to guide for flashing with Radiocomm. Thanks a lot in advance guys! =]
Hi There,
I apologize for not having any links off hand, (though i may be able to update int he future).
I know i have ran across a few guides for radiocomm on the internet... Try using Google.com, and keep an eye out for .pdf files..
I am sure you can tinker around in the menu's also... It is a very robust program...
And, just curious... Did you mean to say .SBF file? instead of .spf?
Good Luck
Here You Go,
I found an older manual for Radiocomm... Idk where i found it, or how helpful it may be... but it's a step in understanding...
Good Luck
yep this tool is interresting...
Here is version 11.12.2
Thanks for posting these files but I can't get them to work. They will not find any of my phones. I have the motorola drivers installed and my puter finds the phone but the radiocomm program won't connect, it stays red. I am running windows 7 with motorola 5.5 drivers, net framework 4 is installed. I tried it in compatability mode, the phones are set to pc mode. my phones are a droid 2 global, and two are a bionic. Can someone please help me out?? Thanks!
For all to know.
The low level tools are written for use with WinXP or lower.
Use with a newer Windows in XP-Mode at your own risk.
That's why to keep an old XP machine (or Win2K) on hand.
Good info everyone!!
Here is a backup link to the version epsylon updated us with.. :]

Well technically the most important thing with these kind of programs is the bits. Most of them are written for 32bit OS.
I'm using win8 32bit and all of my tools work fine. Just used Radiocomm today and yesterday to read some info from some older motorolas.
Granted not *everything* will work. I had to use Blackberry Desktop Manager 6.0 or newer to get it work right.
5.0.1 or older would BSOD on me when I tried to do too much with the RIM Virtual Serial Port.
How to use this program to enable the FM radio on my Motorola phone? Someone claims to have done this using this program but he's not responding to requests for more information. I've installed the program but don't want to brick my phone. In the past I've messed with other programs like QPST and QXDM to enable additional bands so I'm not an entire newbie. Thank you.

[Q] Help! Please!

Sorry in advance if there's a tutorial already out, but i can't seem to find it. I want to begin by modding themes. I have d/l and installed apk manager, sdk tools, java, eclipse and have, as far as i know, associated everything properly. My prog exp is little: some visual basic and turbo pascal in college, along with a flirting fascination with assembly. My thought was i would begin by modding code instead of learning java outright, but if i have to learn c or java that is just fine. where? Anyway, every time i run script.bat in apk manager, i receive an error. Put .apk in mod folder, run script.bat, start project (the .apk is (1)) 1, decompile...error! what am i doing wrong? If anything, just point me in the direction of a good tutorial.

I'm not sure if what you're looking for would be there, but have you checked the General Android Development forum? http://forum.xda-developers.com/forumdisplay.php?f=613
I'm sure you would be able to get more detailed help there, since you are talking about non device specific development. Good luck!

Thank you! I've seen some, but not all. I have a nitro, so dev would be geared towards that. further along i was/would ask how you get the emulator to approximate the lg nitro, but for now i thought i'd stick with just requesting a solid tut.

Never messed with it, to be honest... I've got so many things I want to do but can't seem to find a good starting point for any of it. Pretty sure I've downloaded eclipse, JDK, and the android SDK in both windows and linux environments but that's about as far as I've gone... I may have installed them, not 100% sure. I get side-tracked too easily. :cyclops:

Dual Boot Linux or Windows

Hello everyone,
I wanted to first just say that I am very new to the android community and this is my first experience as I have been an apple user forever. My end goal is to be able to dual boot android with either windows, or a version of Linux. I am wanting to install the tablet in the dash of my car and run a program call "rom raider" so that I log real time data and tune my car at will. I have already unlocked and rooted the device, which was a learning experience in itself. I am just needing some direction as to which would be more stable to dual boot (windows/Linux). How exactly this process works. An anything else that I might need to know while I continue t try my hand at this project. Any input would be greatly appreciated.

You'll be able to use MultiROM to boot to Ubuntu, but I'm not aware of any ported Windows OS.
Of course this requires Unlocking, Rooting, and installation of a MultiROM kernel.
Have fun, Read,Read,Read before you start.

Thanks for that information. Do you have any suggestions on where I could start? I have been looking in the LinuxonAndroid Project, but being a new user the instructions are a little confusing.
