As the person above has said, you can first flash a ftf file of .96 with Flashtool, but you don't need to follow that rooting procedure since your bootloader is unlocked. All you have to do, is flash Doomkernel V6 and then flash this zip in recovery - http://d-h.st/M10

Sorry..Didn't notice you had UB..

[Acro S][Kernel] Stock Kernel + CWM + Root (updated latest 6.1.A.2.55)

[Disclaimer] Do it at your own risk. I am not responsible for anything happened to your phone.
Hi all, I've just upgraded my phone to Acro S recently. It is running ICS 4.0.4 build 6.1.A.1.58. It has been updated to 6.1.A.2.55
So here is a modified Stock Kernel with CWM which I created based on Arakmar's Stock ICS kernel (Build 11) for XS
Credits:
1. Arakmar - for the ramdisk and CWM
2. DoomLord and FXP team - for too many things to mention
Link (do not mirror)
6.1.A.2.55 - http://www.mediafire.com/?zuzatcl3it3zce7
6.1.A.2.50 - http://www.mediafire.com/?jrjiwg13w3gvxpf
6.1.A.2.45 - http://www.mediafire.com/?rq43glb93khd9ia
6.1.A.1.58 - http://www.mediafire.com/?wsuha53wvcc3cav
Instructions:
1. Unzip the files to the fastboot folder, there are 2 files:
kernel.sin -- Stock ICS Kernel
kernel-cwm.elf -- Stock ICS Kernel with init.d support and CWM 5.5.0.4
2. Get into fastboot mode, type:
- To flash the CWM kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot kernel-cwm.elf
- To flash back the Stock kernel
Code:
fastboot flash boot kernel.sin
To get into CWM - Reboot your phone, tap the screen (not buttons) a few times when the blue led and button lights appear
To root your phone, follow instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=30320507&postcount=11
If you like it, please hit the [Thanks] button or you can buy me a beer
Thank you.
But i have a question: what is ram disk use for?
I used xperia s mod kernel to flash supersu.apk, then flash back stock arco s kernel, and add CMW. But some .zip file can not use.
Does this give us root or do i need to root the phone first and then flash this kernel ?
Also, do we need to unlock bootloader for this ?
Can anyone please comment on performance? Thanks in advance!!
Hi do i need to flash these 2 files or just one i want cwm.and does it include root or not?

ramdisk is part of kernel. it runs initial scripts that control how the phone starts.

You need to unlock bootloader first. This kernel won't give you root. But you can boot into cwm to flash any package that root your phone or you can flash a complete rom, if available.

You need to flash only the one with cwm. It won't root your phone.
Thanks for your reply,is it ok to flash cwm without root first?and unlock bootloader is the same xperia s right?

I think you're right. The moded kernel is kernel-cwm.elf.
Root Package
Here is the Root package after you flash the kernel with cwm
To root your phone:
1. copy the RootPhone.zip file to sdcard (internal storage)
2. reboot into cwm
3. install the package
4. reboot

Sorry.
Thanks alot.
It works on Acro HD with Acro S's ICS ROM flashed exlude baseband.
UPD: I did not like the ICS. There are only 320 mb of free RAM. I have 460 mb of free RAM on 2.3.7. So, I installed back the 2.3.7
if you could add 2way call recording patch to this kernel would be great

This worked for me, unlocked bootloader, flashed kernel-cwm and then flashed rootphone in CWM. Thanks.
Just a suggestion,
You might wanna add "+ Root" to your title seeing as this is another way to root the device.
With CWM, can we then flash custom ROMs for Xperia S or a Kernel with permanent root (e.g. DoomKernel)?
I'd like to get rid of all the Facebook-crap in the stock ROM but if it will be there again after the next update from Sony it's no use.

Once you unlock bootloader, you can flash any custom kernel.
If the kernel comes with CWM, you can flash any rom/zip with root
But I think current S custom kernels/roms are based on older version: 6.1.A.0.452
Bootloader unlock will probably void warranty.
But how about rooting? No righht?

Flashboot is not a software , you can flash kernel using flashtool.
You need flashboot to flash kernel, If your bootloader is locked you don't have access to fastboot.
So unlock boot loader first
Read this tutorial.
Its easy.

Read this to learn how to use fastboot in flashtool to flash kernels: http://forum.xda-developers.com/sho...img / kernel.elf / kernel.sin using flashtool.
Remember your bootloader needs to be unlocked! And that kernel isn't auto rooted as far as I know, it's just stock kernel with CWM. But there is a file you can flash with that CWM to root, Doom has linked to it I think. There's another way to root as well, bset check a few more threads.

[6.2.b.0.211]Need help after fail trying to root Xperia S

Hi, today I tried to update my Xperia S to 6.2.b.0.211 using this method: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2302631
But I got a brick which put my phone on a bootloop like the sony logo wouldn't disappear. So I used PC Companion to repair it and now I'm at 6.2.b.0.200 without root.
What I'm asking: Is there any way to root/flash a pre-rooted rom or whatever to have my phone rooted?
Thanks in advance.

Hello guys, u dont need pre-rooted rom or use the old .200 rom anymore
just get the .211 stock rom and u can root it!!
Seems the .211 rom is not available in many country, including Hong Kong (where i'm from)
u can just flash the .211 rom with the ftf file with flash tool in your XS
u may download it here : http://goo.im/devs/DooMLoRD/xperia_s/LT26i_6.2.B.0.211.ftf
u can flash it in without wiping data or cache (while the pre-rooted rom will wipe data)
then root it with doomlord easy rooting kit : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2327473
hope it helps

Here is very easy and wonderful way !
1. Unlock the bootloader ! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1560613&nocache=1
2. Download flashtool and install it. http://androxyde.github.io/
3. Download doomkernel and SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2305591
4. Now flash the doomkernel via flashtool and restart the phone. Now when you see cool doomlord logo, pressing at 'volume +' you will get CWM recovery and pressing at camera button you will get TWRP recovery. choose any one of them and flash this 'SuperSU-1.25-Busybox-1.20.2-UPDATE.zip - 1.43 MB'
ALL THE BEST !

I'm not sure if it's region free but i can instal in on my Hong Kong version Xperia S so i believe it can be installed on yours
i believes most languages are here too
but there's only xperia international keyboard by default
seems other keyboard can still e added in setting
but the Xperia Chinese keyboard is missing and i have to flash it myself
if u dont like this version, u may look for another ftf file

If you're going to use Stock ROM
if you flashed back .587 ftf, you probably left all .sin checked. You should have unchecked kernel.sin, No final verification unchecked.
Reflash custom kernel. If still no root, flash flashable zip in SuperSU thread
If you're going to use a custom ROM
Just flash respective kernel, wipe data, cache, dalvik, system in CWM and install rom. No need to root .587, flashing .587 is for increasing partition only(in case).

If your BL is unlocked you should download Rom and kernel that you want
rom must be .zip and you should place it in sd card
kernel must be .img or .elf
and kernel Wi-Fi modules must be .zip and you should place it on SD too
then you download QuickIMG tool and place the kernel in images folder of it
then turn off phone and hold menu key and plug usb cable
LED would be blue
then you open QuickIMG and choose your kernel and flash it
then turn on phone
when the led is blue you should press Vol down key
then you enter CWM
do:
-wipe date
-wipe cache
-mount and storage > format/system
-advanced> wipe dalvick cache
then install zip and choose Rom
then install zip and choose Wi-fi modules
reboot...

CM10 you say then you need a custom JB kernel, like Fusion,Lupus or nAa kernel, or whatever kernel you want.
You don't need X-Parts. There are many tutorials out there. But I'll just help you.
Download kernel and paste to pc, in any folder.
1) Flash .587 ftf
2) Flash custom kernel (with phone off, hold menu button, connect to pc. Go to Flashtool, then click the thunderlike button, select fastboot mode, select kernel to flash, point to kernel file)
3) Boot, then repetitively press back button to boot to CWM. If lupus kernel, it is volume down.
4) wipe data,cache,dalvik cache,system
5) Install ROM

The MIUI thread has a complete tutorial of how to unlock bootloader (okay you did that), but after that it explains you how to root and install CWM. What firmware are you on? From what I can see the instructions for how to root .200/.211 are a bit daft though (the author expects you to already have a custom recovery). If you're on .200 or .211, skip the rooting step and just flash one of the custom kernels with fastboot (for how to flash a kernel with fastboot, you can also use Flashtool to do this, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963961). Depending on which recovery you installed/tried to install, there are different ways of accessing it. If you used RecoverX, you need to tap the Sony logo a few times when you're rebooting. If you used a custom kernel or the 6.0.3.0 recovery for JB DooMLorD has posted, you need to press volume up when rebooting.
If we're to help you, we'd like a little more information. So what firmware are you currently using, which recovery were you trying to install?
