You can't install that ROM on locked bootloader!
Read this carefully! Here is solution, if you really want to install this.

The MIUI thread has a complete tutorial of how to unlock bootloader (okay you did that), but after that it explains you how to root and install CWM. What firmware are you on? From what I can see the instructions for how to root .200/.211 are a bit daft though (the author expects you to already have a custom recovery). If you're on .200 or .211, skip the rooting step and just flash one of the custom kernels with fastboot (for how to flash a kernel with fastboot, you can also use Flashtool to do this, see here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1963961). Depending on which recovery you installed/tried to install, there are different ways of accessing it. If you used RecoverX, you need to tap the Sony logo a few times when you're rebooting. If you used a custom kernel or the 6.0.3.0 recovery for JB DooMLorD has posted, you need to press volume up when rebooting.
If we're to help you, we'd like a little more information. So what firmware are you currently using, which recovery were you trying to install?

Unlock with normal method or testpoint (drm data keept)
Get root/cwm
Find your rom and fitting kernel
Flash.
If you just go first to general selection theres a lot fully made threads about unlocking and getting CWM. (on top, the pinned ones)
Then go to dev. selection so find your rom and follow the guide to flash

In those steps where do I flash CWM?
nope not required..this is the best short cut and time saving + safe...try it and let us know..
CWM is in custom kernel..u dont need to flash it seperately...
Just flash a kernel & you can use CWM to flash a rom

CWM is for flashing ROMs. You don't install it, once you've unlocked your bootloader and downloaded your sdk's etc, set up fastboot on your PC to boot custom kernels which contain cwm.
Your phone won't be blank, just user data(not sdcard)will be wiped. Follow the instructions on the SE site, or here.

How to install latest Recovery?
Hi guys. I have just one simply question. I just unlock my bootloader at my ARC S with installed latest Android 4.0.3 4.1.A.0.562. My question is:
How can I install CWM Recovery on it?? I'm asking because all of these tips were written for Android in version 2.3 and I don't want to brick my phone during using wrong guide.
If it's not a problem redirect me to proper Guide and tools.
Thanks
Like I mentioned, CWM isn't installed, as such. No matter what version of android you're running, if you've unlocked the bootloader then, using fastboot, you can boot a kernel that contains CWM.

No image tutorial. Plain text.
DRM keys are Digital Rights Management keys. You will lose these when you unlock your bootloader. TrackID and some other (not really important) Sony apps won't work.
So, first, go to http://unlockbootloader.sonymobile.com/ and download the tools needed.
There you have all the steps needed to unlock bootloader.
After you've unlocked bootloader head down to the CWM thread and download the flashable file. You have the instructions at the thread.
Flash CWM and the phone will boot in CWM mode now. Remember to put the ROM you want to flash on sdcard, or put kernel.sin file so you can boot back in the system.
Download the Root.zip flashable file for cwm (you'll find it in most of the root threads), and put it in the root of storage.
Then flash the CWM through fastboot, and the phone will boot in CWM recovery.
Navigate to "Install zip from sdcard -> Choose zip from sdcard -> "root.zip" (use the volume buttons to navigate and power to select).
Select Yes and your phone will be rooted.
If you want, you can download a kernel like Advanced ICS which will autoroot your phone when you flash it.
If you don't flash another kernel, then power off the device and boot into fastboot mode, and flash kernel.sin.
Your phone will boot into the system and will be rooted

That's not how you unlock bootloader, that's how you check if your bootloader is unlockable. Head over to Bootloader Unlock thread and unlock your bootloader, then flash a CWM recovery through fastboot, and flash a kernel which will root your device.
There is Jelly Bean for our device, AOKP, CM10, PA etc etc.. Use the search button!

Hey guys, as the post title says, I'm trying to install the xperia play z rom, and I'm hitting a lot of road blocks. First one is, I don't even know if my phone's bootloader is unlocked! I'm pretty sure it is, because I thought all r800a's came with an unlocked bootloader, and I also used the flashtool, unlock bootloader tool, and it said it was already unlocked.
So, naturally what I do, is I flash the firmware in the guide (located here - http://www.android-hilfe.de/root-cu...a-play/417392-rom-xperia-play-z-v1-1-0-a.html), and after that I want to root it so I can install a recovery. But when I try to root it, it always fails on part 1. So I tried to install cyanogenmod recovery without it. But after the apk is installed, i'm not able to install the actual recovery because it is not rooted.
My main problem with the guide is that it says to just boot into clockworkmod recovery, but I don't know how to. I turn on the phone and press the up button, but without installing the CWM/X-parts recovery, there's no way I can expect it to come up.
Any help please? I'm totally lost here. I know how to get roms that are based on gingerbread, but for some reason, Ics/Jellybean roms don't work at all, and I don't know if it is whether because my phones bootloader isn't unlocked (even though it says it is), or it's something else, like me missing a tutorial specifically for ics/jellybean roms.
Thanks in advance.

Sorry, another question. What happens is that when I try to flash an ics kernel, it goes into an infinite bootloop, but when I flash a gingerbread kernel, it works fine. Is this a sign of a locked bootloader? Cause I thought you wouldn't be able to install any kernels if it was locked.

For future readers -
a. The r800a indeed does come with bootloader unlocked
b. It is normal for the phone to bootloop, Just go into recovery like normal and install the rom .zip. (It's usually tapping back while starting the phone, but if that doesn't work, try up volume or down volume)

You could check tutorals at http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1836530
You could also check sticky threads in q/a and general section
Maybe cwm installer (or xparts) don't work on unlocked bootloader, and that's why you can't install it. Or, as i recall, only some versions work (v5 is working, as i recall)
Before all that, make backup of your apps with titanium backup, just in case.
Custom kernels have embedded cwm recovery (two things in a single file).
