Battery Life AOSP vs TW - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy Note II

Is everyone else having the same experience as myself in that TW roms crush AOSP roms in the battery department?

Not true exactly. I use to run Paranoid on my GS2 with killer battery life. I can get through the day still with my Note but it is just not near as good....

Will do, On TW i'd be around 35% at your mark.... post some shots soon.

Yea it just depends on how well asop roms are compatible with the device. Like for us I would imagine it's our exynos cpu that's holding the note 2 back.

I've gotten pretty good battery life on 4.3 roms (CM10.2) but nothing can touch stock battery life (8-10 hours screen on time). Think i'm going to have to switch back...

Couldn't be more true I dont even see why aosp exists... just refarm the tw ui to look like aosp..
Never had good batt experience on non Tw roms.. Although the n2 battery life is generally the best to date so I guess in a sense ...aosp roms get thru the day ok.

Avatar ROM (N2)
I have to admit that I haven't had any hood experience with battery life with AOSP ROMs. But I've been using Avatar ROM with greenify and clean master app and I've noticed a huge improvement, esp since Avatar's most recent update.
Sent from my SGH-T889 using xda app-developers app

TW seems to last longer but I cant sacrifice the speed of an AOSP for the current TW ROMs running 4.1.2.
Any AOSP ROM still gives me more than enough for like 4+ hrs of screen. I usually charge at night with like ~30% left.

I'm on a 4.3 ROM and I've never had a problem with battery life, as the other person said I'd rather have the latest features and speed over a longer battery life. Thats what I have the zerolemon 9300MaH battery for.

My experience exactly the opposite: main reason I switched to AOSP (CM 10.2) is because better battery life. Plus it's 4.3

Yeah..screen ontime would help. I usually last like 14 hours with 5 hours screen on time. I don't hold back since I have a spare on the external charger lol.

You should give undervolting a shot if your kernel supports it. That helps with reducing power consumption while in use, while juice defender helps with reducing power consumption while not in use.

You need something like JD. The 4g looks like it's killing you.

Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
yeah that's rather bad. i would put on average that our phone would last 4+ hours display on screen without the use of JD and other stuff.
I would say voice uses more battery than display on.. but barely... like 1.3 : 1 ratio in use voice : display.
Your android system looks a bit high too. Maybe a fresh wipe and install would help things.

I also used the Juggernaut and Darkside combo when I first got my phone but that was ages ago. Just before getting rid of my S2 I was using Jedi Mind Trick X3 and the kernel that's baked into it. It was loaded with features, smooth and had excellent battery life.

It' all really personal preferences. I've flashed all the roms and each roms have there own special features. Your best bet is to flash and see. Happy flashing

Try every other rom if you're looking for a good combination of battery life, speed, or whatever else you may want from your phone. But, in terms of stability and stability alone, I'd most likely suggest any TW 4.03 roms in the android development forums (notably Darkside.evolution v8 if you can find a link). All of which are known to be incredibly stable
I've tried quite a few now, Honestly I like the basic vanilla roms... Ran CM9 for a few months and now Im running AOKP 6. Found them both extremely stable and simple. Prefer AOKP to be honest

Help me find a good kernel for jellybam?

I finally got rid of tw and flashed jellybam. The only thing bothering me in the battery life. It's worse than what i had in my s3. I tried using soap and dagr8s kernel. But no luck. Battery falls 10% for less than half hour on screen time with medium use of texting and browsing. What is a good kernel and what are your recommended settings with it , like governor and stuff.
Thanks in advance
