it will be stock if you flashed the stock recovery

No if you once unlocked the phone it will never be stock again, cause you cannot get it into locked state, only in relocked state.
I was lucky that the shop I brought it to, covered the warranty (cause they opened the device before sending it to the repair center).
The repair center wanted to charge me for the repairs, cause the state was relocked in stead of locked.
Maybe you are lucky too. Cause it looks close to stock, and maybe your repair center does not care about relocked state.
After repairs it was in (stock) locked state again and I never unlocked it anymore... lucky me, cause i had to send it back again for repairs.

Yes I did that. Thanks.
I have sent in the phone unlocked before and it was no problem.

it's a lottery, sometimes they check sometimes they don't. cross fingers and hope for the best, and refuse to back down

I would search the forums and see if there is a hboot you can flash that will have it say "locked" instead of "relocked" I have an HTC one and I have a moonshine hboot which makes it look like stock. Anyway good luck.

[Q] Stock rom install / Broken screen replacement

Hello,
I inherited a stolen and recovered One X from my mother-in-law. The screen (top part) is quite smashed but works fine, touch is good, screen is fully readable under the cracks.
Some questions if I may;
1. has anyone managed to replace just the top part of the screen, or is it just better to replace the entire assembly?
2. has anyone had experience of ipod-repairs-4-u on ebay (UK) and would you recommend them, or just do it myself?
3. The phone was an O2 one and I am on Vodafone (plus I don't like the O2 stuff!). I have installed Viper/venom rom but I would rather have just the stock HTC rom as this one gives me no wifi strength for some reason. Until I get used to the phone I think I would rather just be stock. How can I install the Stock rom from the ruu_endeavor_u_ics_40_htc_europe_1.29.401.11_radio_1.1204.105.14_release_260491_signed_c9d22 RUU I have downloaded?
Thanks for your patience!

Oh God How do you use it with that damage
Sent from my HTC One X
I don't think branded (locked) phones are 1.29.401.11, make sure that the ruu u have corresponds with it device. Or you could Brick it! Simply fastboot oem lock, and run the ruu.

Luckily, I have a Sensation! I have ordered the tools to dismantle the unit just to see if it is worth my trying. Otherwise I can get it done through an ebay seller.
It's quite cool though isn't it! Still fully working under there!

I have installed Venom ROM but ideally want a stock rom, my guess is I can't use an RUU anyway so would have to do something with the rom.zip, anyone have any how-to's?

I just bought one from this eBay seller from HK for the missus and it's also S-OFF. I unlocked bootloader, upgraded HBOOT to latest version using the RUU and flashed the latest PA ROM.
There's a thread here, but development seems to have been halted a long time ago. Looks like nobody cares anymore I'm also willing to provide any required information on my device.

S-ON PRODUCTION flag in bootloader?

I need to claim warranty on my HTC 10, bootloader is Locked, S-ON, Software status is Official, but there is this "PRODUCTION" flag next to "S-ON" (look at the photo below). I think it appeared after oreo update.
- Can someone verify for me if this is normal for stock never modified HTC 10 phones ?

After flashing the "2PS6IMG-2.51.617.32-US-Unlocked-aboot" the "Production" flag was removed.

Correct because the flag comes with the OREO firmware. When you flash an older firmware the flag will be gone because you are no longer on the oreo firmware.

Sorry Mr Hofs, let me give more info.
I have an Unlocked HCT 10, Official, Locked, and S-off. I am running 3.16.617.2 Oreo software. I wanted to see if I could remove the PRODUCTION flag.
I RUUed the 2PS6IMG-2.51.617.32-US-Unlocked-aboot. (I know never flash anything but the correct software version).
Phone booted up perfectly with no production flag. Running stable.
Knowing this I then used a text editor on the 3.16.617.2-aboot-no-red-text and removed the production flag.
I'm NOT telling anyone to try this!
I'm just telling you what I did and it worked great for me.

Flashing refurbished 64GB Red HTC 10 I bought off Ebay

Hello
I bought a refurbished 64GB Red HTC 10 off eBay. It came with Android 7. OTA says there are no updates available. When I enter download mode I see that the bootloader is LOCKED + S-OFF (guess they paid 25$ to get it S-OFF?) + CID 1111111
OTA doesn't work because CID is set to 1111111? As far I am aware S-OFF and OTA work together.

How can I flash my phone safely to the latest stock, just like my main silver htc 10? there is any custom from that's better than the latest Oreo stock?
Thank you very much!
EDIT: I just realized they have sent me HTC 10 lifestyle instead of HTC 10!
I suggest you return the phone, as the ROMs for HTC 10 might not work properlyon your HTC 10 Lifestyle.
(P.S. It might be possible to flash with HTC 10 though since it is S-Off, but its not recommended.)

I think that's what they did. because the model shows HTC 10 but it's not.
How can I flash an htc 10 lifestyle stock rom?
I can see there are 3 models
A56DJ_PRO_DUGL https://easy-firmware.com/index.php?a=downloads&b=folder&id=16988
A56DJ_PRO_DTWL
A56DJ_PRO_DTWL | Easy Firmware

A56DJ_UHL https://romprovider.com/htc-10-lifestyle-firmware/
Thanks!
As far as I know, there are no furthur updates than Android 7 for HTC 10 Lifestyle.
yes, I know.
I suspect the model shows only "htc 10" because they flashed the wrong from...
Here is what you should do. Install CPU-Z adn Aida64 apps, and share screenshots of system details. That would tell what Soc is there, how much RAM, etc. The model would be confirmed then.

Already done that. the seller wanted a photo of the settings that shows the model that's why I thought flashing stock but you're right that is enough I shouldn't waste time on it
