[Q] will nexus 7 2013 receive another update after JSS15Q - Nexus 7 (2013) Q&A

will nexus 7 2013 receive another update after JSS15Q...?? if so.. then when....

Email Google, and please post their response, as there's little chance that anyone here can answer that with any authority.

They might just leave it till KitKat is released.

Gonna be a TON of unhappy people then...

in my opinion lets wait to see the kitkat nexus 7 winners
in my opinion there are two possibilities:...
1. if the kitkat nexus 7 winners get kitkat on their devices.... then.... kitkat will be the next update....
2. if the winners dont get kitkat.... then we'll have to wait and might get new 4.3 updates as people are still havin issues with jss15q.

Updates to GNex first.

As you may have noticed google releases updates first to it's devices. Of course I'm curious to know when the next will be, not that I hate JB, but updates are so exciting. I bought the GSM phone from the play store, so I should receive the updates first, right? Last thing, has KLP been confirmed?

So obviously the best course of action is to bump them.
To the OP: No one knows anything about KLP-- no concrete details have been leaked or officially announced thus far. But I think it's very safe to assume that you should not expect it until Q1 or Q2 2013.
Sorry for my curiosity.

We literally just got Jellybean . . . . . . .
^ this. are you kidding me? this is why small updates come out without huge feature increases, because people have barely had the newest thing and they're demanding more already.
seriously close this thread, no good discussion will come of it.

The Google guys can't be that retarded to release a new version of android when there are no other phones with jelly bean besides the nexus s and gnex. I think the next major update (aka klp) will be announced june - july 2013. Till then we will get minor updates (4.1.2, 4.1.3...)

For god sakes people, calm down! A guy can't ask out of curiosity? You swear I'm ungrateful. Why would I be after I spent nearly $400USD on it. Ganging up on a curious guy. Excuse me for thinking, apparently it's illegal to think here.

A new nexus is always released with a new system version if history is to repeat itself.
Nexus One - Eclair/Froyo
Nexus S - Gingerbread
Galaxy Nexus - Ice Cream Sandwich
Nexus 7 - Jellybean
Assuming history is followed we should be able to expect a new version with the next nexus. But we must keep in mind googles plan for 1 major update/year and with that in mind it could be June when we get our next major release.
The waiting game begins...

I'm just the opposite. I get bummed when the new os comes out. It seems like all the custom ROMs just about become perfect, then they get abandoned to work on the new os.

Thank you. That's about the most straight forward answer I've gotten.

Can you not see how to be a little ridiculous to ask when the next update is when jelly bean just got released?
No I cannot see because curiosity blinds me, but thanks for pointing out the obvious.

are you kidding me? the facts he gave you about the different Nexus phones are EASILY google-able.
the rest is just him speculating anyways, which accomplishes nothing other than to sort of semi-satisfy your "blind curiosity" that is clearly you just trying to blind us with the fact that you're LAZY to look it up yourself.
Go to rumor sites if you want speculation, this is NOT rumor site, and this forum for the Nexus even less-so.

Key lime pie.

I'm just wondering if the galaxy will get the new update in a couple months.. I know there using the 3.8 kernel and do not know if our phone will be compatible. I hope so cause I don't plan on a new phone until the next nexus device. However it may be that our phone will rest in peace with 4.x. Your thoughts?

There has been an armada of threads about this. Google updates the gNex for 2 years. Closed.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
There is already KLP thread in this forum and in this 'general' section so I don't understand why to do new one thread..
Ofc. Nexus gets newer version ... It doesn't mean nexus can't get the update when some devices gets newer kernel....
And Iif for some reason nexus won't get android update then I'm sure there will be the new version as CM's build version or something like that...
Answer to the question is that Google promises 18 months of development for a nexus device, either way I'm sure developers will make it happen.

Will the new Nexus 7 JSS15Q update be available to JWR66N users?

Hey everyone, this is my first post on the forums and I just wanted to verify somethings about the new update.
I just replaced my apparently not defective (multi touch issues) Nexus 7 2013 and a new one is coming in. The problem here is the new one will be on the JWR66N build and I want to know if this new update will be available for this build or will I be stuck using this build without Netflix?
Thanks!
There is an update I also came from a JWR66N built. Netflix works..

Hooray!! Thanks for the fast reply! How do the multitouch, reboot, and gps issues look like? Still there or has it been removed? still paranoid lol
Honestly.. I was scared to upgrade at first because of all the post I've been reading but after updating, there was no multitouch issues.. No reboot or any other issue.

Thank you so much for your info. Now I know that I won't be returning the new one I'm getting in the mail friday
Well this is my experience with my tablet.. I'm not sure how yours is going to respond to the update.. Since I've read that users have different experiences. Hope for the best

Is this different build a different version of LB?
Please consider consolidating JSS15Q experiences in this post

Please confirm that you are indeed running JSS15Q and not JSS15J.
I got JSS15J. Is this the new or the old build?

[Q] Android 4.4 Kitkat for nexus 7 2013

Ey guys Just wanted to know when android 4.4 will be officially released for the nexus 7 2013 edition Im so excited:fingers-crossed:
Thanks!!
Right now, we have no official date. HTC said the GPe One will receive the update within 15 days of release. That is November 15. That suggests the 4, 7, and 10 should receive the update before then.

I honestly don't know. I bought mine the minute it was released on the Play Store in the US and received it Monday afternoon. You can try checking the Nexus 5 forum. AC posted this, but it currently only covers US, UK, and Canada http://www.androidcentral.com/nexus-5-where-and-when-can-you-buy-one

Thanks for the link I'll check it out. If flashed an aosp android 4.4 ROM but the app drawer isn't transparent and so is the buttons and the status bar. Is that normal?

Not yet, they work well but some things do not work at the moment. I'm still happy with 4.3 and my current set up so will patiently wait until proper sources are out.

Here's a brilliant idea: nobody post anything about 4.4 until there's actually news about it.

[Q]Will I be able to install new android update?

I have nexus 7 2013 running android 4.4.4 with xposed and supersu installed will i be able to install android update without removing xposed?
Please anyone reply
Sent from my Nexus 7
Possibly yes with the Xposed uninstall feature. No OTA, of course. However, going to the totally new system without a wipe may not be a good idea, and Xposed is not ready for L so no point in not uninstalling it. I do wonder what the OTA will do to current user data-how will google handle the drastic os change. In any case, within a week of release, there will be a dozen options posted on XDA.

Given that L is ART only and I don't think Xposed is ready for it yet, you won't be able to use Xposed.

It's only 04:27 in Mountain View, CA right now. OTAs are rolled out in stages. A very small percentage of users receive the OTA on the first day. This gradually increases in the following days and the next week.

It means it will take 2-3 days more to release the update?
But thanx for information Jhall08

I think your question has been answered multiple times. If you want the OTA, wait. november 3 is when N7's (some of them) will START getting the updates. If you're desperate, just flash the system images once they arrive on the Google site. Those WILL be up today.
Has anyone got Android 5.0 update via OTA (System Updates)
