[Q] IMEI non existent?

HI and thanks to anyone that can help on this!
a friend bought this from the US and it wont except any sim cards so i took it to a phone store and they have said that the phone does not have an IMEI?
can anyone answer this? if so how can i fix this?

Dial *#06# and check what msg pops up?
If it is null than its because of downgrading or wrong update
If its 00something than its a corrupt imei

You probably upgraded to a new firmware type of rom, then went back. This can cause the EFS(Root folder for some phone information) to be corrupted. Did you make backup(Which are most likely to be suggested in any rom thread found here)? That could solve your problem quick.

It's brand new never been used the problem is that someone bought it for me from the states, kinda hard to take it back... i also got an iphone but had no issues with that...
but, ill give that a go

hello guys please help me restore my network on my p6 ,I have done factory reset,wipe data ,turn off airplane .no other line seems to work on my phone .it just keep saying emergency calls only

Is your SIM card put in properly?
Did you pay your bill to your phone carrier?
If you did the above, do this:
1. Can you please tell us which build you are on (B125? B111? International or Chinese?)
2. And can you tell us which carrier you are with?
We need answers to 1 and 2 in order to help you.

Pay his bill? LOL
Now you know they would not just suspend a number without a prior notice, and I think if that was the problem, he would know.

And check your phone didint lost IMEI.. Settings/Status/IMEI

He posted how you can check go to:
Settings>About Phone>Status and then check the IMEI number
or go to the phone dialer and dial:
*#06#
and see if the number is shown or post whatever output you get from that...

So IMEI is fine, flash b125 im kinda sure your problem will be fixed after that.

Are you using a locked sim ? Did you have a regional specific firmware before updating to B111 ?

Put the update.app file on a folder and name that folder dload, on your sdcard. Push power + volum up/down at once for 10 seconds.

did normal update but still no network ,arrrrrrrrrrrrrr I give up

repost : not register to network ( GT-N5100)

Hye all,
Need help on my GT-N5100, actually after upgraded to 4.4.2 my note has error, and now it saw not registered to network, i try flash back to original firmware, and yet still "not registered to network", i also try flash custom rom, and still this error occur, how do i fix it? i do all possible way, uh, really need help here, im from malaysia.

I never face this issue myself but did you set Access Point Names in Settings?

Check IMEI and hopefully you have a backup of it.

my imei was different from old imei ( found at the back of my note 8.0). how do i change it back to original imei?

Without efs / imei bachup I think not possible.

Does this also happen with a different rom?
I can only think then that is could be a baseband/radio problem

yes it happens , i tried 3 different ROMs
and i tried to change my baseband but still the same problem !
is there any other options ? really need help

Is your IMEI at the back of your phone the same as you see in the phone info?
If you have conflicting IMEI numbers, you may have a grey market phone..i.e. a network locked phone that was unlocked using an hacked ROM or other method

no, i've changed it with z3x box and now just one SIM is working as i posted in screenshots

The problem is that it has been unlocked in a dogy way.
I never heard of the z3x box.
I have to go check it out and will be back later.
Looks like an interesting box.
But very dangerous if you don't know how to use it.
I see that z3x has a repair function for restore damaged imei to original only.

i don't know but imei under battery isn't the same with my phone info

Hello! I upload a capture of all the errors. I'm very interested in solving the IMEI. Thanks for your help!

On stock firmware does it show a correct IMEI?
If so, the problem is random flashing.
Do you have backup of the .cert and or .efs files?
If so, search on how to use them.
If you know the IMEI and it is network blacklisted, use a service for unlocking it. Online you can find it.

Hi. Thanks for your answer. In all the firmware I do not have IMEI (unknown). And I do not have a copy of .cert or .efs

I don't know if it helps, but when I flashed a Combination for my phone, when i had an unknown IMEI, it showed me one working and network working too but I don't know if you can make use of that IMEI or even if it is valid.
And solved my unknown IMEI just by flashing last stock rom.
If you have your phone rooted, you can extract those files via adb, plenty of tutorials online.

The combination "os" is not a full os, is like a test one, so i would not recommend you to install it.
Here you can find it, the page need you to be registered and to pay for a fastest download, none the less, it can be downloaded without paying but it is a little bit slower

Slide the upper menu and get to config, in device info or something you should find an IMEI and you probably have noticed that the phone is connected to the network, or that was what was shown to me.

Hm what is left is just to flash stock, keep it in a wifi connection 168 hours and then flash twrp for rooting the phone and getting those files, lets hope they are not corrupted.
The waiting it is because samsung have seven days as the time.for the bootloader to be unlocked and allowing the phone to be modified.
