Move APP to SD card? - LG Optimus G Pro

Can it be done in LG G PRO?

Short answer: No, not yet.
Long answer: No, probably never will be. The way the external SD is loaded is emulated. No hard coded(so to speak) hopefully that makes sense to you.

Question about epic touch

Im getting my phone tomorrow but I was reading that the phone diesnt come with a sd card and that it is partitioned for 2 gb of app storage. Then there is 11 gb available for pics, videos, and music. Is this true? Im used to these going on the sd card
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Yes its true. SD slot is empty and your numbers for internals are correct
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
Yes, you can put what ever you want on it.
Sent from my SPH-D710 using XDA App
I'm sure it won't be long before we have the ability to set our own internal app storage partitions.

sd format type

I'm not sure if this is something I've just blatantly over looked on all my android devices (shsme on me if so) but is there a way to see if my sd card is fat32 or exfat without having to connect it to my pc to check? thanks for any help.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
i always thought it could only read fat32, so my guess is it has to be fat32
i can assure you that "only fat32 is pretty far off, as im pretty sure ive had ext2,3 and 4 amongst a few other types. but thanks for trying

some recoveries have an option that lets you view all the different file systems on your phone and sd card. see if your recovery supports that.
maybe i just didn't realise that i may have seen it in clockwork...does anyone know of a recovery that specifically has this function/ability?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
Ext4 does but we don't have support yet...
Do it on your pc if you have an sdcard reader.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
my pc croaked last week. that's why I'm trying so hard this way...now when u say "ext4 does" are you meaning that there is a new custom recovery named ext4 just like the format type? or do you mean something else?
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
There is a custom recovery called ext4 that allows you to see what format your sd card is. Not for the gs3 yet.
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda premium
It's actually called "4ext recovery", should've mentioned that

I'm not sure why you'd need to but try apps2sd from the market - it's free.

That's pointless in this phone.
If you read the app description is even says, "Not supported devices: * Galaxy S3, Note 2, Galaxy Nexus, Tablets"
The only way to get apps installed in sd card is: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1931500
Ahh, my bad. Thanks.

You need something like Directory Bind. Kind of tricky though. Unfortunately gone are the days that google will support moving apps away from internal memory.
Hey I need because internal memory is 14 gb so when it geys full I want app which I move the data to sd card
Sent from my GT-N7100 using xda app-developers app
has anyone tried this method? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VE0vSelmUiE&feature=youtube_gdata_player
I'm going to give it a shot.

This function is not supported, however you can change to custom roms that may support this, or just install redpill kernel and use the function in the stweaks to make your external sdcard an internal sdcard. This is the easiest method If you get any problems just post some question in the link below, i'll be making some tutorial on how to do this kind of things soon

Root Help/Quick Question

Do I need an external sdhc card to root my note 2?

No external SD card is needed for root. However if you plan on installing custom ROMS you will need an SD card for backups etc.

Trouble with internal and external storage.

Hello everyone. I got my Note 2 back on Saturday and I'm enjoying it A LOT so far
I have just one big problem.
I would like a MOD which would make my external sd card my primary storage so that all the apps data and apps are being stored there. This is really important to me as the internal sd card has like 10gb of usable storage and with some heavy apps like GTA:SA and Fifa 14 it goes full!! Now if this isnt possible is there any MOD to merge the storage of my internal sd card with my external one? I'm using a 16gb sony external sd card and it would be great if I could get that storage moved on my internal sd card.
Just in case this is important
*I'm rocking DN3 ROM with MJ5 BL N7100 Inter. version.
Thanks a lot in advance, any help is appreciated.
One more thing. Do you know which is the best kernel for heavy games and compatible with DN3? Again THANKS!
Personally I use folder mount which you can get from xda or playstore and is idiot proof. There is an internal to external memory swap script that works well too. Just search the forum for it
