CM currently, looking around at other roms.
Elementalx (lovin the S2W/S)

Rom Deb
I´m running Carbon-Rom atm as its the only featured Rom for the Nexus 7 deb (LTE Version).
As soon as PACman Rom will be fully working, i will use it (or paranoidandroid).

I was pretty happy with stock rom and kernel rooted, but now flashed Carbon and a custom rom to test. Just a few tweaks I need like expanded desktop mode, lowering the size of the nav bar, themes etc and Carbon offer me all this so happy with my set up for the time being.

ZTE v8403 ram 256m up rom 4.0.4

I second this. I have also been running this since it first became available, and I am very thrilled with it. Runs well, very fast and completely stable.

[Q] Milestone 5 or Slim 3.5 ?

I'm confused which one to use.
Slim 3.5
Anyway - what rom is the best, is a personal thing. What works for me might not work for you Just try some roms and stick with what suits you best.

Thanks! Actually I am running Slim 3.5 but sometimes have experience FC on browser was thinking to try Milestone 5.
I would recommend M5 or the AOKP Nightlies. Very stable, no FC and LOTS of tweaks and stuff in ROM Control in the phone menu.

Its really personal decision. As for me, I'm using AOKP M5 + Franco Kernel. Buttery smooth and very good battery. Absolutely love it. Also tried with "stock" faux kernel and its really good, but I prefer franco because its really fast and good for battery.

Your daily ROM?

I'm just curious of what ROM you guys are using as a daily driver for your galaxy nexus
I personally use Black Jelly Bean (based on aokp) because I love the true black theme and the inverted gapps
Also I find it one of the most stable ROM out there and battery is pretty solid too!
I wanna here from you guys!

I've tried several but always return to liquid, its the only one I've found that includes all the features I got used to on ICS. Love the theme of black bean but will wait til aokp incorporates more features into JB.

I have been on paranoid android and I like it so far. Forget which kernel I am running. Under about phone it just says unavailable lol. Good battery life so far. Smooth too. tried aokp, bamf and code name android.
Been looking to switch it up though... anyone have a suggestion for a ROM/kernel combo that has a decent amount of features and customization without sacrificing battery??

Liquid/trinity. Auto sync mobile data and auto brightness on the whole time and I just did 21 hours with 4½ display, will add screenshots from laptop in morning.
I wanted a change so I'm now trying rasbean jelly with trinity kernel. As long as battery holds up the same I'll probably stick with this for a few weeks.

[Poll] [Toro] What ROM are you running as your daily driver?

Like the title says, this isn't about what's "best". It's just to try to get an idea of metrics. As far as I know there's no one tracking how popular any given ROM is, and this won't go a long way to help, but I'm curious.
Please don't check "Yes this is a question" for polls in General. Qs go in Q&A. Edited title.
Thanks

Huh, I'm really surprised there aren't more CyanogenMod users coming through.

From what I've seen CM is more widely used on manufacture skinned devices. Nexus users don't need CM as much as rest of the android world.

I'm running EOS4 nightlies, and EOS3 nightlies before that with very few problems. Check it out, it's a pretty sweet ROM.
Fitsnugly's CM10.1 has been great as always. Tiny's kernel too.

I'm using pure AOSP with Trinity Kernel. I can say It's awesome.
It seems like all of the 4.2.1 ROMs are still experiencing issues. Is that even true of vanilla AOSP?
right now liquidsmooth with air kernel, but that's bound to change as i can't leave my phone the way it is anymore.
Sorcery for me excellent amount of customization and battery life is great running the stock kernel packaged with the rom I could go on how awesome this rom is.

Hay im running Dirty Unicorn(4.4.2) and the latest elementalX kernal and it does charge my nexus 7 with the OTG cable and sends power to my DAC, but the sound is still playing through the speakers of my Nexus.
the DAC im using is the Behringer UCA-222 it works fine with CM10.2, but no OTG charging.
Could someone please help me out?
Thanks
There's a reason why these threads are frowned upon, and this is a prime example. To the OP, there are no real roms that are/are not noob friendly. Some just have extra optimizations...it's up to you to utilize them all. As starters, get comfortable with the stock rom, then try the others. Then you can truly determine which rom is best for you AND for your device (since each device may respond differently).

Franco or ElementalX Kernel?

I've heard a lot of good things about both, I'm just wondering which one is the more "popular" one to say. I've been using ElementalX for a month now, and it works pretty good overclocked to 1.8Ghz.
I don't really use touchwake that much, so it's not a deal breaker. Since I hear a lot about Franco, what's so good about it?

They are both great kernels made by respected devs. I use ElementalX but I suggest to give them each a try and see for yourself.
Sent from my Nexus 7 Flo running Odex SinLess ROM 4.4.2 with ElementalX kernel using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
I tried Franco and thought it was slower than ElementalX. Have it over clocked slightly more at 1.8Ghz, but I don't think it makes the difference. ElementalX has made me happy, so I'll keep it.

At the moment ElementalX is the best kernel and I can recommend using it because of it's great stability, performance and variety of customisations.
Does anyone know if there are known issues that are causing bootloops? I have a 2013 N7 running on CM 10.2 and I flashed both Glitch and ElementalX kernels and both gave me bootloops

You want to make sure you are using the proper kernel. The most recent ones are for 4.4.2 but you're running 4.3 JB. Other than that, make sure your ROM is AOSP based and it should work. This is not withstanding some CM 11 builds.

Thanks for the answer. I also tried Franco kernel and I was able to get the lock screen but all the colors seemed to be negative. Perhaps is a GPU issue. I get a totally cyan screen when the CM Boot animation appears. Also with Franco kernel it said: com.phone.android has stopped, I wasn't able to get out of the lock screen. Ill try with another ROM like AOKP, Carbon, Omni or PA
Sent from my Nexus 7 using XDA Premium 4 mobile app
Are both of these kernels compactor with CM11.
I used to use Franco kernel exclusively on my N4, but the CM team changed something (related to colour?) that made it incompatible.
Also, do they both support usb-otg so I can mount my USB stick?
