So Google Voice doesn't work reliably with the P6. If you try to make a call through Google Voice (official app) the dialer gives the error "Call Not Sent" and the phone instead makes the call through the SIM card's phone number. This must be due to some customizations Huawei have made with the dialer. Sometimes if you hang up quickly, the call will be completed through a Google Voice phone number, but this is rare.
It also might be related to the permissions manager, but disabling it still didn't resolve the problem. I tried different dialer apps, but that also didn't fix it. Any ideas? Making GV calls over data (Groove IP, etc) isn't an option for me.
I've emailed Huawei a couple of times without any response and contact Google Voice through their support page, and basically there is little hope that this will be fixed anytime soon. Unless CM or MIUI are ported.
i already asked this ques few days ago and noone replied... http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2435521
I'm actually talking about the Google Voice app:

I use Google voice as my voice mail. After changing to cm7 I cannot return calls that come in through Google Voice. Example: Someone calls and leaves a voice mail. I listen to the voice mail then attempt to call them back. When I select menu and call, the phone attempts to dial but never starts to ring. After 30-60 seconds I here busy signals. I can manually type the number into the dialer but this is not ideal. Any idea as to why I cannot press the call button in google voice to call back numbers who left a voice mail message?
Thank you!
Do you get a +1 in front of the number? I had that problem before too and eventually came to an error message. I wish I could recall how I fixed it, but double check that to make sure you're not dialing too much.
The main reason I don't use Google Voice is because it requires a 3G signal in order to place or receive a call, that might be your problem- not sure. Never heard of a Google Voice issue specific to CM7, I think the problem may be in another area- but I'm not sure.
Hello everyone. My epic touch works great except I can't receive calls. I think that this is a google voice issue because once I disable the google voice + sprint integration, everything works fine. Sometimes, my phone tells me that I have a missed call. The last time I remember receiving a call is before I installed the google voice app (not sure if that this is the cause). I haven't been able to receive a call for nearly four weeks now.
I am at my wit's end. I think I have tried everything short of posting to this forum until now, including:
1.) Following the advice on a similar thread in this forum. (To dial *710)
2.) Elsewhere it was suggested to dial *720, *730, and *740.
3.) Calling sprint. They suggested it was due to a service outage, though I doubt this is the case as I live in an area with good coverage.
4.) Doing a PRI reset to factory default settings.
5.) Uninstalling the google voice app (and reinstalling it).
6.) Setting up another google voice account to try with a different number.
7.) Having google voice integrate my carrier number over instead of the google voice number.
8.) Following the instructions on post #4 on this sprint forum thread. (To remove google voice, reboot phone, update profile etc., call sprint)
9.) Googling around. There seem to be others who have asked google directly for advice, but they all seem to be "closed to responses" before the issues are definitively resolved.
10.) Flashed another modem.bin found elsewhere on this epic 4g touch forum.
11.) I'm sure there have been other things I've tried..
Can anybody help me? I rarely ask for help but I think I've exhausted all of my options. I'm running StarBurst 1.6.
PS - Is it bad forum etiquette to write in bold so much here?
My phone wasnt receiving calls and i thought it was a google voice issue, so i uninstalled it and still the same issue of not receiving calls.
I dont know if your issue is the same as mine, but when my phone isnt connected to a charger or computer in sleep/idle mode, it wont receive calls or text. my text will come in when i hit the power button to bring it out of idle/sleep mode.
I got the run around from sprint customer service for about a week because of the issue so today they told me to take it to a service center to get it checked out. Turns out the phone is defective and they're going to take a week to get me a new phone.
Its not google voice, with the guy above me that makes 3 of us who are not receiving calls while in sleep mode!

I'm not sure we have the same issue. I never have a problem with text, regardless of whether my charger is connected or not. If I disable google voice integration, I can receive calls to my carrier number, whether or not the phone is in sleep mode. It doesn't look like google forwards calls to my phone when someone calls my google voice number, though.
After re-enabling google voice integration, I left my phone out of sleep mode, called it, and awhile later the phone did ring for about half a second before displaying a missed call. This does not consistently happen as this is the first time I've seen this.
My gf's phone has been having some issues with google voice for awhile now. She's always wanted the stock incredible VVM back, but no one's ever been able to find it on other forums. If anyone has the stock VVM for the phone, I think she would like that better.
If not...
Her issue is that whenever someone calls her phone it always has different responses. Some people call and say the number is unavailable, others say it asks for her subscriber number. I've called three times now and i've had those two errors along with one that actually got through. The problem is that she isn't receiving all her calls, which anyone on this forum can attest that this is a MAJOR issue, especially while she hunts for jobs. If ANYONE can figure out a solution to this problem it would be awesome. I've searched the web for weeks trying to find a solution or even an alternate VVM, but I haven't had any luck.
I just need to figure out one of the following:
- how to get back stock Incredible VVM
- how to fix or permanently get rid of google voice
- find an alternative VVM that works decently and can get past this google voice issue.
Any help would be appreciated...
Phone is Verizon Droid Incredible running CM7 version 7.0.3-inc
What are her Google Voice settings set to? Open GV and navigate to: Menu/More/Making Calls? This setting should be set to "Do not use GV to make calls." I've been using it for about a year and across different roms with absolutely no problem, so this is a surprise to me.
To remove Google Voice (no don't do it, stop...aight I'm done):
If you want to remove GV, sign into her Google account from a computer, along the black Google title bar click on "More" then select GV from the list of Google services. Now, click the gear icon below your account name and there is a "deactivate Google Voicemail on this phone" link in blue. Once you deactivate Google Voice, your Verizon voicemail should be working. I haven't personally done this, cuz I actively use GV. I believe your Verizon voicemail is *86 if you want to access it over the phone. If you want, call Verizon to ensure the second phone (the GV account) number is disconnected from the account as well. Last step requires you to call and test her voicemail to make sure they come through.
P.s. Doesn't every rom include Voicemail Settings under Settings/Call? Does changing your settings there fail as well?

thanks that got rid of it. i also found how to set it back to the carrier voicemail like you said. i like google voice, but that problem not being able to receive calls 50% of the time just kills the functionality of a phone almost. i wish i knew the deeper problem of it so i could make it fully functional. thanks though, this fix will work for now.
Not a problem, sucks that you had that issue arise. Glad I could help.
In leu of the newly released Hangouts app with Google Voice integration and Hangouts Dialer release, I downloaded and tried out the new Hangouts Dialer just now. It's awesome! However, I'm noticing that if someone calls my standard number or my Google Voice number the stock LG dialer intercepts the call and makes me answer it through the stock interface.
So now I want to permanently disable the stock LG dialer apps safely. I used Titanium Backup to freeze the "Answer Me" app but the calls still come through the stock dialer. Anyone know what else is required to freeze/uninstall to get this to go away?
EDIT 1:
I partially figured it out. In order to freeze the stock dialer app from intercepting calls to your Google Voice number, freeze the following 3 apps...
Answer Me 2.0.0
Phone 4.8.24 (VOICEMAIL)
Phone/Messaging Storage 3.5.16 (SMS/MMS/APN)
This solves the issue for your Google Voice number or if you've forwarded your standard number to your Google Voice number. However, if you don't have your standard number forwarded to your Google Voice number, calls to your standard number will still come through the stock dialer for some reason...
EDIT 2:
I also noticed that if you click on a phone number in the phone's browser (Chrome in my case) or Google Maps, it still opens the phone number in the LG dialer app, even though the app is disabled. So to make a call in Hangouts you need to copy the number then paste it into the Google Dialer. This obviously isn't a great solution by any means. Hopefully we can figure out a way to make the Hangouts dialer act as the stock dialer across everything within the phone.

Yeah, it's obnoxious. It's got me missing the AOSP ROMs on my Nexus phones. With AOSP you can just set the Hangouts Dialr as the default phone app and call it a day.
My understanding is if you stop forwarding your number to your cell phone on the Google voice website, it will stop ringing your cell number and the only ring will be Hangouts. You may find you also need to remove the now largely uneeded google voice ap, it conflicts with hangouts... NOTE: if you do this, you will not receive GV calls if you do not have a good data connection. You also wan't dial out on GV if you don't have a data connection. Since they aren't going to your cell number anymore.
I did a search on the forums and didn't find any relevant threads, so I'm creating this one.
I have my Google Voice app set to show a prompt asking which number I want to use before each call. However, I've noticed that on occasion the call will go through using my carrier line before I even make a selection on the prompt. I tested this further and set Google Voice to always use Google Voice line to make calls, then I made calls to another number I have access to. After several test calls, I found that about half the time, the call still goes through my carrier line. There wasn't any indication on my phone that it was using the carrier line or Google Voice line.
If I use the Google Voice app to make a call, it will always use my Google Voice line, even though it's going through the phone's stock dialer app.
I'm wondering if anyone else has similar issues and what solutions there might be to fix this. I wanted to replace the stock dialer with Google's dialer app and Google Contact app, but it seems that Google's dialer app is not compatible with the Mate SE/7x.
Can anyone think of a solution? I think that by somehow making the stock dialer delay for 2-3 seconds before each call, it would give enough time for Google Voice prompt to show up and freeze the dialer until I make a choice. I'm not sure how to do this, though.
Alternatively, are there any good dialers to replace the stock one?
I am having a similar issue on my Honor 7X and my wife's 6X. GV has been working great for months on both phones. Now (I think we noticed it in late April) when someone calls our Primary Phone # it doesn't get routed to GV Voice Mail, it goes to the Carrier's VM. For my wife, when someone calls her GV # it doesn't ring on her phone and is routed to her carrier VM. When she sets removes her "Linked Number" then calls to her GV # are routed to GVM but do not ring on her phone.
I have tried installing an older version of GV, no luck, and I have since been updated to EMUI 8 (Android 8.0) and I still have the same problem. I'm wondering if it's a carrier issue/change? We use Consumer Cellular (ATT network). When I go into Call Forwarding in Call Options it will not let me set a Call Forwarding number and tells me "Unexpected Network Response."
Hopefully someone will fix this soon. My wife uses her GV# for work.
Having the same issue, it's not consistent, some calls go to gv some to carrier vm...
