Moto X Skinomi Screen Protectors for $0.01? - Moto X Accessories

I found this posting on Amazon which appears to be Skinomi screen protectors for the Moto X for only $0.01. This seems like a terrific deal. I'm not sure why they would be selling them for such a low price but thought you guys might be interested.

Nice. Good find. Order a couple to hold me over until I find something else I like. Something is better than. Nothing.

I honestly don't think I will put a skin on mine. This thing is pretty tough.

Just installed mine. Fit decently, but I will post pics after it dries. Sucks waiting to turn it on!

Yeah I have used Skinomi before and actually love how easy it is to install.

Just ordered two of these since they were so cheap. I've seen good reviews of it, but this is the first time i'm getting a "wet" screen protector, and I'm a bit apprehensive as a result. Thoughts?

Not too bad. Reminds of bodyguardz in regards that the screen isn't too rubbery like invisible shield. All in all, great especially for the price.

Had the skinomi on for one week... already full of imprints... don't think I would buy again.

Any experience with IQ Shield? < or > Skinomi?

Had mine on for 7 days now. Still bubbles all around the edges of the protector which look bad. One corner peeled up when I was wiping it down with a screen cloth so now I have fuzzies all under it. The feel of the protector i enjoy. It's not super glass smooth but it never feels tacky to use. The cut of the protector was perfect. Overall for $3 its not bad to hold me over until my InvisibleShield gets here (boy they are slow at shipping). I think I'll stick with InvisibleShield which I've used for many different devices and never had any problems with bubbles coming out / edges peeling. Same feel but better quality it seems.

I've got an IQ shield on mine at the moment. Installed easy but I flubbed and didn't install it quite even and so the bottom keeps bubbling from the case. I think if I'd lined it up perfectly, it wouldn't be an issue. I'd also tried the Skinomi (not impressed) and the Armorshield (I think I must have put the case on too soon, it bubbled along the side once I put the case on 24 hours later). Maybe I should stop trying wet install screen protectors?

Picked up The Skinomi because I couldn't resist the price. The cutouts for the screen sensors wouldn't line up with the phone. (yes, I installed it facing the right way)
Onto the next brand. Thinking about going with the power support one because they are supposedly officially licensed M4de for Moto X.

I have the PowerSupport screen protector that is sold on Motorola's website, and it is hands down the best screen protector I've ever used. Well worth the $15, since it comes with 2. Buttery smooth to the touch, and absolutely no distortion of image. Just feels really high quality and minimal.

I'm using the Rocketfish case from BestBuy. 100% clear, really high quality, and lets the design of this phone shine through. Well worth the price, and doesn't interfere with the screen protector either. Plus its TPU, and covers all the sides of the phone. Really the best case out there IMO.

For what its worth, I got the i-Blason screen protector from Amazon and really like it. I've bought multiple screen protectors over the years for various phones, and this one is probably the best I've had, even better than Verizon ones (which are also really good). They seem overall the easiest to install, and are very clear. Can't even really tell the screen protector is on. Can't comment on how they will stand the test of time, since I've only had my Moto X a few days, but so far I really like them and would buy again.
I also use the Diztronic TPU case, and it doesn't interfere at all with these screen protectors, in fact I don't think it would with any screen protectors.

Same problem here the hole in the screen protector on the lower left side, which I believe is for the mic, does not line up at all.
The edge of the cut out is on the right side edge of the mic hole.
Not having any problem with people hearing me so I am going to leave it on.

Best ultra smooth screen protector

Yeah yeah I know there's a lot of topics about screen protectors of the one I'm serious about one that is very slick this very tough to the way I can use a stylus, Yes I'm probably still one you remaining few people who play drawsomething. The one I'm currently using a cut down from a wrapsol that I cut down and made to fit my phone. The one I currently have shows all lot of scratches on scrapes and marks. I want one that will not show any blemishes after taking a beating.

Surprisingly I have some cheap ones like $2 for 5 and it's really good quality. Compared it with a phone without a screen protector and couldn't tell the difference. got it off Amazon, but there are so many different Sellers and different kinds, I'm not sure you'll get the same one. Well ultimately, some cheap protector are just as good as some well known ones.

I'll vouch for Realook also. I used it for my Vibrant and now I'm using it for my S2.
The only downside to this screen protector is it will bubble (without modification) if you're using the D30 case due to the super tight fitment. There's some tricks you can do to avoid bubbling. Just do a search.
Amazon is selling a pair of the screen protectors for a very low price of $12!

Gadget Guard
http://www.gadgetguard.com/
I have this on my, phone, laptop, gps, my kids iPods. I put this on 30 Panasonic toughbooks at work and also about 10 different tablets. I won't buy another product ever again.
Pros: It heals itself if you use a stylus and it leaves makes they will go away, if i get a small scratch in an hour it will be gone. This doesn't include major damage. 100% life time guarantee, whatever the reason, if your gadget guard fails to live up to their high standards they will replace it, free, for the life of your device.
Cons: Dry install was a little tough, Wet install was easier but it is a little scary for electronic devices, If you wet install it will take a few days for all the little bubbles to disappear it goes faster if you let it sit in the sun.

What screen protector to buy?

I did a quick search and couldn't find much on this topic for this phone, specifically.
For those of you who have bought/used a screen protector for this phone, which brand would you recommend for? recommend against? And why?
ScreenProtector
Hey, personally i just bought the HD Zagg shield for the screen. Compared to other screens out there its a little more expensive, but you cant argue with the clarity and protection it gives. Plus it doesn't distort the picture at all and for a phone like the LGOG screen resolution is killer.
Screen Protector. What is that? LOL, no need with these new phones. My 2 cents.
I too prefer the zagg invisashields
I got the Ghost Armor because it is almost like the HD Invisible Shield.
Full body for $30. Feels like I'm touching the screen itself.
If you really want protection then go for the regular Zagg.
I bought this one from Spigen:
http://www.amazon.com/SPIGEN-SGP-Pr...keywords=spigen+screen+protector+lg+optimus+g
Fits perfectly, easy to apply, high quality, crystal clear, and the price is right.
I bought the Xtreme Full Body Protectors cheap but good really quality, for best protection I would go zag full body.

Awesome, and it's not forcing the edges up at all?
Sent from my Sprint LG Optimus G
The edges come up if I apply really hard pressure to the edges of the case. The key I have found is that when inserting the phone into the case, insert it at an angle under the lip of the case so that you are sure that the lip rests on top of the screen protector and not adjacent to it. Basically, imagine the amount of extra pressure you need to apply (compared to just holding the phone normally) to click one of the volume buttons while the phone is in the case. Now multiply that 5x. That's about how hard I have to push on the sides of the case if I want the case to force the up the screen protector. In my experience, unless I really try, the screen protector does not bubble up when in the Diztronic case and so it just not an issue for me.

I didn't have a screen protector on my phone for the first month, and it got some very light scratches. Also, the center of the screen had its coating rubbed off somewhat (the screen cleaner beaded differently in the center when sprayed on.) I usually use the Zagg HD shields, they covered up the light scratches and protect the phone nicely, I can barely tell that its on.

agreed, can't say enough good about these Spigen screen protectors.
The UQ is amazing but fingerprinty. They are hard to install perfect, but are dry installed. Clean up your dusty environment before you attempted to install one because the tiniest speck will show.
Still not sure how it happened, but I found a few minor scratches on my "gorilla" glass recently. There's never anything in my pocket with my phone, so I really don't understand how they got there.
Anyways, I found a 50% off code for Zagg at RetailMeNot:
feb4
Just ordered a front & back shield for ~$15.50 shipped.
I mean, WTF? Gorilla glass? More like scratch it by looking at it glass. My kid's tossed my HP Touchpad to the ground and smashed trains on it dozens of times and there's not a mark on it. But I put my LGOG in my pocket, take it out, and its scratched. Grrrrrr.
I bought a HD mirror screen protector. I wouldn't advise it. It reminds me of taking your 3D glasses off in the theater and watching the movie. This is while the phone is powered on.
In the sun its hard to see unless its on full display brightness.
These are my findings and opinions. I wouldn't buy it again.

Best Screen Protector?

Can someone please tell me what the best screen protector is for the One?
Cheers
You can't go wrong with ZAGG, Skinomi or Ghost Armor. Ghost Armor is my favorite but I paid priority mail and it got lost in the mail. It shipped on 4/9 and USPS has the screen protector on transit. I had to beg to get the shipping refunded and it took several days of voice messages and emails for anyone to get back to me. I asked them to send me a new one but fed ex it for free and they wouldn't. I was disappointed with that decision. I think each company has a Facebook page and you can see what people say about the screen protectors.
any had any experience with the mediadevil ones?
Anyone have experience with the AT&T ones for $10?
SPG's are the best I've seen reviewed and used. There is one model for the One right now, but they usually have 2 or 3 different ones for each phone (for different functions).
I used the Official HTC protectors and i found that the edges never stay stuck down properly and bubble up. Ive now changed it to a FoneM8 one and it fits perfectly, no bubbles and the surface is smooth.
I went with some cheaper ones because their reviews on other phones have been really good as far as I can tell. Their the Fosmon Crystal Clear, I'll post when I get my phone and give it a try but they were $2 shipped for 3 protectors and arrived in 4 days.
Edit : Oh and it doesn't come with a squeegee but a credit card or whatever will work. Definitely recommend the hinge method!

I highly suggest anything that is not a ZAGG Invisible Shield.
The texture is incredibly rough and compared to a more standard screen protector, harder to use on the phone. Plus, depending on what kind of case you use, it's prone to peeling on the edges.

I don't know why people like zagg. There are so many better options out there. Zagg feels "rubbery" and I know the orange peel look has been a bit better but it still looks like crap to me. Something like spg ultra clear is what I call the perfect screen protector for any device. It's almost invisible and feels pretty much like a naked screen. Not to mention zagg is a wet install.

Yeah, they manufactured it previously, but there were some problems with capacitive button response. I have my doubts that they will make a version that works. Seems like the button sensitivity on the One is just a little on the weak side.

AT&T-branded screen protector review

I've tried many many screen protectors on various devices and I swear by the Spigen products. Since they don't have a Steinheil or GLAS.tR SLIM offering yet, I decided to give the AT&T-branded screen protector a try:
http://www.att.com/shop/wireless/accessories/screen-protectors/sku6610351.html
The packaging has a Case-Mate logo on the front, although Case-Mate's website doesn't show it.
Anyway, the cut seems pretty good; it covers most of the glass, up to the beveled edge. It has a cutout in the upper right for the front facing camera and sensors. The feel is not quite as good as Steinheil, but acceptable. I'd consider the clarity above average; while not quite invisible like the Steinheil, it's still pretty clear.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda premium
Yeah. I have the AT&T screen protectors as well. Seems ok even though I don't generally do screen protectors cause they always bubble at the edges when the phone is in a case that overlaps the edges.
Sent from my LG-E980 using xda premium
I did ask Spigen about offering some of their Crystal Clear ones and was told they would be offering them in a couple of weeks. So hopefully that is the case, but they are not on the site yet. I am going to inquire as to any news or updates on it.
there decent. can't beat 3 for only $10.
I find that the screen protectors that we (at&t) offer tend to really hold on to fingerprints and not let them go without a fight. I'm assuming that's the case here as well?
Still waiting for my xtreme guardz to ship. I don't know if they have and don't notify you or if that company is just horribly slow.
On a side note, I just picked up my Folio case from my store today and it is wonderful. Way better than that cheap crap Samsung makes for theirs. Even has the nfc and wireless charging built in along with sensors that shut the screen off when closed.

My daughter had the att guy apply hers. Looks great, just a couple of small bubbles near the home button. When they spread, she'll try one of the two left in the pack. I suspect she'll ruin it, and take the phone back to the att guy for the last one. Then, maybe, she'll take my recommendation and get a Zagg. How long that all takes = how good the att one is... looks good for now!

I also just picked up the Folio case. I'm a case hater because they usually add bulk, but I'm a big fan of this case. Since the "case" is actually just a screen cover attached to a back plate there is almost no additional bulk. The cover is millimeters thick and the back plate may add a tiny bit of material along the sides, but it's hardly noticeable. I initially balked at the $50 price tag, but with the built-in NFC and Qi charging, it's hard to argue.

Under bright light with the screen off, the protector actually has a ever slight purple tinge to it, where the Steinheil is very clear.
With the screen on, it does not seem to affect the screen brightness adversely.

What about the screen colors? Do they look any bit washed out?

The best screen protectors I have used on any phone is Spigen ultra crystal. It's like you don't even have one on they are also very easy to put on. Issue is Spigen doesn't sell them for this phone yet unless you buy their Spigen case for LG Optimus G Pro they give you one.

I have tried many screen protectors including at&t ones in the past. I just got the 3 pack for 10 bucks from at&t and they are very good... very clear unlike ones from them I've tried.before that.made the pixels look weird. Those who are looking for 10 bucks you won't be disappointed

I must have put on like 5000 of these in the 8 years I've been in cell phone sales. Dust doesn't even stand a chance when you've put on that many.

+1:good:
I've decided to return my Optiimus G Pro. Great phone, but could not get used to the size of the phone is my hand. I've got two extra AT&T protectors that I'll send to the first person that PM's me their address. Will only mail within USA.
While the application was easy, with no bubbles or dust anywhere, and it gets ride of finger prints easily enough, i found that the att screen protectors scratched really easily. I do nothing different with this phone that i do with my others, and i already have hair line scratches all over the front of it ( gladly not on my screen ), just fair warning. I had the application down perfect and hate to have to re-do it because of future clarity issues due to scratching.
I personally enjoy the invisible shield.
I've had it on my Nokia N900, then on a xperia mini pro, on my wife's iPad and iPad mini, her iPhone, my GNex and my OGP.
Got nothing to complain about it. The only thing is that, if you live in hot weathered country and keep the cell in your pocket without a flip cover, it'll eventually start loosing glue and will need to be replaced.
That's why I always buy them in pairs. So I always have a spare.
BTW, they feel really good at touch.
I highly recommend.

[Q] What screen protector do you use?

got my new phone
looking to protect this badboy now. What protection do you use?

I use HTC's official screen protector and it works pretty good for me!
The military grade tech armor screen protector. I got it off amazon for a very good price. I like this because it protects the screen, it diminishes finger print very very well and on top of that, it totally preserves the screen quality. Bought it for my nexus 7 and totally love it. Haven't changed it and it still just as good. Lifetime limited warranty. # I am not a sponsor lol

Spigen Glas.tr probably the best you can get
thanks for the responses! do any of these cover the back as well? I want to take the case off.

I'm using zagg screen protector aka invisible shield
I picked up a pack of 3 from amazon made by Tech Armor. Link
Pros:
- No fingerprints whatsoever
- Very minimal discoloration
- Finger slides like on paper
Cons:
- Display loses sharpness
- Few mm short of covering length of screen
They make a matte and clear version of the screen. It's a fine protector for me since I prefer the papery feel, but not everyone like clarity trade off.
I am using the nillkin protector came with my nillkin case, it's very good and my friend did not even notice I have protector on. You can buy separate ones off eBay for a cheap price.

I use an Invisibleshield from Zagg. It works very nice but I've only had it on 2 days and I believe it takes longer to completely cure. So I'll wait on that to report how the screen quality issues affected but even now it's not bad at all; barely even noticeable

Spigen Glas.tr with Best Skins Ever matte skin on the back. Could not be happier!

Some amFilm, 3 for $5. Used them on the N7 and now on the One. Almost perfect fit and just as clear as the more expensive brands. Very impressed for this price.

I use this screen protector too and I got the matte version instead of the clear one b/c I like the papery feel/sound. And I am impressed with the quality and the price. So far, it's been protecting my screen very well, but I did notice that I have to tap my capacitive buttons two or three times on occasions, but I'm not sure if it's due to the screen protector alone since I placed the screen protector on it as soon as I got my phone.
I'm hoping there will be spigen ultra optic..there's only ultra crystal right now. My experience on note 2 is really good. Antifingerprint while maintaining screen clarity
Glass, but the effect is not good, may be because I don't know how to stick it

It's not really your protector: it's probably the flawed kernel that got shipped out. Sprint released an update that fixed things, but it's not worked its way into custom ROMs.
+1 for the matte amFilms though. Great feel and price. I slapped one on my Galaxy Nexus as well just because (if you'd believe it, it's a perfect fit for the screen).

I got my phone from T-mobile though. Does T-mobile have the same problem too?
I use cheap ones off ebay... buy a handful from 2-4 sellers, find one you like and then re-order 10 or 20 more and just change them out once a month or so... screen protectors should not be kept on the phone for a year or more, except maybe glass (Haven't tried any glass yet)
You can probably get a years+ worth of decent protectors for the price of one Zagg at bestbuy... or less!
