Part 2 i dropped my hox brightness problem - HTC One X

Hi as some of you remember I dropped my HOX causing screen brightness problem. On top of this today a small grey rectangular line with some parts red too appeared on the top of the screen. In this line there is also some text too small to read.Any idea what this is?Also to make this better the OTA appeared too(CID HTC_304) today.Do you think I should install it or wait until the HOX is repaired as I will send it to service tommorow?

Since you'll send it in tomorrow you won't be able to play much with the update (and you have a half-broken phone) anyway, so just wait until it's fixed and update OTA. Good luck!

[Q] Soft Keys unresponsive

Hello everyone,
here's my problem.
After 7 days of normal usage (apart from poor battery life and some slightly annoying screen flickering issues) all 3 soft keys suddenly stopped being responsive. The backlight is still working though. Factory reset sorted no effect. As you may imagine, using the phone has become a real pain.
I have contacted HTC and I am currently waiting for their reply.
I just need to keep my hands away from trying to disassemble and see what went wrong
I was just wondering if anyone has got a similar problem.
Thanks
I have the same problem
I still wait replay from htc
Same happened to me. Tried a reset, boot loader relock, and a factory restore. Nothing helped. Mine was returned to phonehouse.fr, should have a replacement in 10 days.
Disappointed to say the least.

Is your touch screen unresponsive as well or just the soft keys?

I had the same problem with mine. not only did the softkeys not work but if you dragged the notifications bar down you could not push it back up
I sent the phone back to the store and they gave me a replacement which is working brilliantly!
apparently it happens because ICS is not designed for softkeys only...at least that's what a developer told me
I too have same issue as from day 1, hv contacted my operator and now waiting for replacement (applied hard reset both via settings and also from boot menu, no success)

SW update to 1.28 did not solve the matter either, means 100% hw issue...
I will sell the new One as soon as I get it, I do not want this One anymore.

replying myself
well, after seeing how ugly the new galaxy is, decided to keep OneX, have received my replacement yesterday, this new One is working flawlessly, no any bugs/lags and now I am quite happy with my OneX. Surely this One is the phone of the year.
Cheers!

Sigh~

maximum disappear time for yellow spots?

I know it has been talked a lot about yellow spots, but I couldn't find a clear answer to my question.
Obviously I have a yellow spot which gets more dense when the device is warmer. I am about to decide whether to send my HOX for repair or wait to see whether yellow spots will disappear in time. I just wonder what is maximum amount time I have to wait to be sure that yellow spots will remain permanently.
I had a yellow dot on the bottom right of the screen was small but quite annoying because I knew it was there. I ran the charmander Rom from jan and used faux kernel and after a few days it disappeared.
I can't remember wether charmander was a newer base than I had or if maybe it was the kernel but since then it never returned
Hope this helps

Mine disappeared after a day or two, then it came back and wouldn't go away. HTC repaired it for free.
It has been 2 weeks since I have discovered it so they are not going anywhere. I need to send it to HTC. Thanks for replies

Screen panel after repair

Sorry for making a new thread but i didn't know where to post this!
My one x screen developed yellow spots so i took my phone for service.
When i got my phone back i noticed that the new screen is not as bright as before and is a bit yellowish older one was whiter.
After doing some research here on xda i thought my previous screen was an Acer made and this new one from Sharp.
All the images i looked at where simillar to ones posted from the Sharp panel.
I then decided to look at last_ksmg.txt but it proved me worng it is 0x4940014 the Acer panel.
My question is since the panel is changed will the correct one be disaplyed on the last_ksmg log?
Never checked that before i took my phone for service so don't know...

Touch not working 99% of the time

Hey!
This saturday, I noticed something wrong with mt HTC One X (stock rom). It didn't respond at all when I touched the screen, it was active though but the touch didn't seem to work anymore. After like 50 attempts with reboots and all, it worked, but the problem came back later, and again today. I did a factory reset to no avail, as the furthest I managed to get was the part of the first-time start-up where you select WiFi, so that's pretty much unlock + 1 click until it broke again.
Any idea on what's wrong and how to fix it? I'm guessing it's the digitizer, maybe it could be worth for me to open the phone up and see that it looks alright, if that's somewhat easy to do?
Thanks.
Edit: Oh, and when it works, it works for a few seconds usually until it hangs on a random press (keeps that pressed down).
Looks like a hardware failure, go back to the re-seller. You probably still have warranty.
And if you dont have warranty it's easier to replace the digitizer & screen in once. Separating the display from the digitizer is ..... how do i say it correct ...... CRAP

Guess I'll go to the re-seller then and have a chat with them, cause I'm not going to pay anything to fix it to be honest, I'm getting a new phone in 3-4 months so I hope I can survive with my old HTC until then! And if the re-seller isn't keen on doing anything, I'll talk to my insurance company, see if they'd agree to replace it with the HTC One perhaps, fingers crossed.
Okidoki, good luck mate !

[Q] LG G4 backlight issue?

Hello,
I have in every app this bright bar at the top of my screen.
I have the H815 version.
It looks like backlight bleed but i am not sure.
You can see it the best in de notification dropdown.
Do you guys have it too?
Thanks,
First one did, more like the brightness inconsistency throughout the screen. I just received the replacement and much better now. I'd request for the replacement of I were you. They gave me a brand new phone since I was within the "return policy"

The top and the bottem of my screen are also brighter, just a slight bleed, but it doesnt bother me as long as it stays that way and doesnt get worse. Im pretty sure the only way it can be fixed is either by replacing the dispaly or getting a new phone.
