Locked or unlocked status is shown only in updated hboots. If you are running older hboots it will show no notification. How did you get into that state?

Well for an ruu to work, bootloader must be locked, try using theq86 bl controller tool to lock it, check the development section.

Please help, how do I get back to a working device???
What would you do?
Which ROM would you flash?
can you boot into your HBoot by pressing the Vol- button during the start?
after this, go to Fastboot and press the Power Button. Now, connect your HOX to your PC.
If you want to flash something, you have to unlock your Bootloader first

I followed instructions on installing a jellybean ROM which told me to use fastboot to relock the bootloader, now I cant do anything, I cant install another rom from HBOOT as I cant get into it and I cant get it to boot up with the one it has now
which JB ROM? Stock or Custom?
if you want to flash something, you have to unlock your Bootloader first. Also, you have to flash the boot.img from your CustomRom before you will start your HOX
hello,
connect your device to the pc and type this in cmd:
Code:
fastboot reboot bootloader
Then unlock your device again, using either www.htcdev.com or any other method that you are comforatable with.
When you unlock your phone again re-flash CWM.

The tutorial told you to relock it so that you could install hboot 1.36 (updated firmware). You haven't done that, so JB Sense ROMs won't work.

You can't flash a ruu with an unlocked bootloader. Relock it and then flash it. Anyway, if you are already unlocked, to root you need to flash su in cwm recovery.

couple things. this is the verizon HTC one forum. since you are s on you will need an encrypted ruu to recover that phone or unlock the boot loader via HTC dev assuming this isn't a Verizon phone. you can then flash a custom recovery and flash a custom ROM.

if s-on, relock bootloader to flash RUU
Sorry for that, I assumed the procedure would be same as HTC one x. Where I achieved OS by relocking and them flashing ruu.
Dunno what would be good for you. Try searching around...
