What sense version do you want in result: 4+ or 5?
Did you update your phone via OTA earlier?
Post bootloader error here, please. Looks like your bootloader is updated and do not match requirements to flash RUU from Hutchison.

1.- i dont know what is better, if 4+ or 5.
2.- in fact the phone was updated by other person, i don't know what he did :/
3.- let me flash ruu again and post bootloader error.
if it's usefull, it has Team Win Recovery Project v2.4.1.0 installed.
thanks for reply

Well, looks like firmware\hboot was updated and latest RUU for your CID requires older firmware\hboot.
So, you can't use old RUU to go back to stock.
You need to flash stock ROM for 1.39 hboot from recovery
Try to find ROM like this one, but older: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970&highlight=*stock*
I guess you need to search 3.18 or 3.20 version, don't remember wwich one will work with 1.39

ok, i'll search it.
thank you sir, i'll let you know the results.

one more question, can i use this method posted here? http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1927048
exactly this:
Nand for H3G__106 - thanks to Jackster88
Part 1
Part 2
Quote:
Instructions:
***For this nand to work you need HBOOT 1.39 and cwm***
1) go into fastboot and enter "fastboot oem lock" - the device will reboot
2) go into fastboot again and enter "fastboot oem rebootRUU" - there will be a black screen with a silverish HTC logo
3) enter "fastboot flash zip firmware.zip" (you need the firmware.zip from page 1 for this)
3a) enter the same again, the green bar under the logo should go to 100% (either after the first or second time)
4) enter "fastboot reboot-bootloader" to go back to your fastboot
5) unlock your device again with the unlock code ("fastboot flash unlocktoken Unlock_code.bin")
6) Restore your old boot.img (fastboot flash boot name_of_boot_file.img) and recovery (fastboot flash recovery name_of_recovery_file.img), make sure you copied them from the nandroid backup folder we created earlier into the folder that contains the fastboot.exe you're using.
7) Reboot and you should now have Hboot 1.39 with your old boot and recovery.
(8) If it won't work we still have the backup ready to restore the old system, Hboot isn't changeable right now on S-ON devices outside of the RUU routine - so even if you restore your nandroid you should still have Hboot 1.39 now)
Confirmed working with H3G__001, H3G__003, H3g__G04

yes, you can try this method
except, I guess you need not flash firmware, because you are already on 1.39

getting Back to stock From Custom ROM Using CWM

hi
First thanks to sumesd & ClydeB1 with out their help
i would not have been successful in this process:good::laugh:
Few people had asked me how i went back to stock via CWM so im posting the same for ur info.
I am not a techie i just read and do what i need to. This worked for me so it should also for ur. I was on 1.29 did not do any previous OTA so i was able to get the OTA via this process
I was told that if u have updated to 2.17 u might not be able to get it back if u try from 1.29
if u have 2,17 nand back up yes u can do the below.Stock recovery given in the below link but im not sure if it will work. But sr developers says yes
i had the original stock rom backed up via CWM (1.29)
so if u have it too u can do this
1. Copy the boot.img from ur CWM nand bakup
keep it on ur PC and flash it via the fastboot comand on to ur Phone
2. Flash the backed up orignal rom via CWM
3. Then flash the original stock recovery
via fast boot command or u can use the tool given below it is easier
i have used it and it worked for me:good:
4. Re lock the boot loader
again via fast boot command or the tool given below
I used this tool to re lock and flash the recovery it can also do most of the above process
(thanks to thunder07)
link : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=27913286&postcount=1
For stock recovery get it from here(thanks to sumesd)

one more : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1928019 (thanks manachivm this is India stock)
If u want 2.17 stock rom CWM back up INDIA (thanks kryptoner)
go here : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32444876&postcount=2419
one more link for the same : http://d-h.st/aEz
Note : it is a CWM back up u need to place it inside the CWM backup folder on ur SD to flash it via CWM nand restore OK . IT is not a update ZIP
hope the above helps:good::laugh:
The title is misleading!
You are saying that you restored everything to stock from CWM, but you have flashed the stock boot.img & stock recovery through your PC.
Well, if you are using your PC, the better & faster way is to simply re-lock & flash the latest RUU for your device (that ofcourse excludes JB, which till now cannot be restored to fully stock due to the Hboot 1.23).

hi
i did this and it worked for me and i have successfully up dated my OTA to 2.17 some guys asked me how so i have given the process for the procees u have given their are a few good tuts for the same:laugh:
this is just another way to do the same which i felt was easy if u like it u can do it
and by doing nand restore i feel i save time ie i dont need to re install all my apps and contacts again
and just relocking is not enough u need to add stock recovery, then re lock and then flash the RUU via Pc at least that is what i have read
I am not saying it does not work, I am sure it does. but your title claims "Everything", whereas you are NOT doing "Everything" from CWM.
As for flashing through RUU, you dont need the stock recovery nor the stock boot to flash a stock RUU.

hi
i was just passing on some info i know and i have changed the topic see
and i hope u are right that u dont need stock recovery to flash the RUU because as per what i read it is needed .But then im not a techie just a guy who reads and does what is said thats all
Re-Locking (without stock boot & recover) and Flashing the RUU from fastboot (or bootloader can't remeber exactly) worked for me several times. Even if I get the security warning message, the RUU still flashed.
I believe there are two issues that the RUU checks, the ROM version & Hboot version. if both are either equal or higher in the RUU, it would flash succussfully.
my problem is my

AFAIK ViperOne hasnt been made for the Verizon HTC One. can you point to where you downloaded the rom please?
but normally when this happens its a boot.img problem meaning the kernel is not working properly if you flash another rom that is offered in OUR dev section you should be able to boot no problem. as for media stuff, that should be in the internal storage

There is a general HTC One forum you may get better results in as you said this one is Verizon specific.. FWIW here is a link to the general HTC One forums - http://forum.xda-developers.com/htc-one
but, to answer your question,
turn off the phone completely, (make sure fastboot is off in settings.apk)
then, hold volume down + power to get into bootloader mode, then from there you can fastboot flash an RUU for YOUR phone, make sure the RUU isn't made for another phone or it could brick, also make sure not to flash, radio, hboot, recovery, basically anything not made for your phone (aka files found in this Verizon forum)
Here is a good video of how to flash an RUU on the HTC One: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rpA71FXddyU and http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1g5gEf2wgS4 are both good
(I prefer to use fastbootRUU, which is done by runnnig these commands in fastboot:
Code:
adb reboot bootloader
fastboot erase cache
fastboot oem rebootRUU
fastboot flash zip RUU.zip
fastboot reboot-bootloader
if you don't have an RUU to run. that should still be just fine and probably easier, actually yea try this first, boot into bootloader, then either fastboot flash a custom recovery (if you don't already have one) and flash yourself a ROM made for your HTC One.
so is your phone from Verizon, it is just full unlocked from Europe? am I reading that correctly? If so, what does this mean? you are using a Verizon HTC One on a Europe carrier? Sorry, just a little confused on that part, hopefully this comes to some use to you.
Best of luck,
Andy
Thank you andybones .
I dont have RUU .

How can I put another ROM on my phone ?because it`s not recognized by my computer ?
If I "wipe data / factory reset " from ClockWorkMOD Recovery, I will be able to restore the previous backup made with ClockWorkMOD Recovery?
And yes, my phone it`s from Europe but it`s unlock from factory .
Thank you very much .

You really need to be asking these questions in the forum section for the HTC One you bought, people here are familiar with the Verizon HTC One which is different from your HTC One. If you can find out which HTC One you have, I would be willing to bet that you can find the RUU's and other tools, such as something to remove the red text on your flash screen and get your phone booting again.
Like others have said, you need to get to the correct forum section for your device, regardless of what carrier you are using. This section is for the Verizon HTC One model only.
To answer your question about flashing recovery:
1. download the correct recovery for the device that you have, not Verizon
2. enter the bootloader
3. plug phone into computer
4. enter the command: fastboot devices
- if you dont see anything listed, you need to get fastboot working, and I won't get into that...
- if you do see your device listed, proceed
5. copy your recovery.img file to your fastboot working directory
6. enter the command: fastboot flash recovery recovery_file_name.img (with the correct file name of the recovery you downloaded for your specific device)
6. wait for your terminal/command prompt to say its done, should be just a few seconds
7. enter the command: fastboot reboot-bootloader
- make sure everything looks fine
8. use volume buttons to select the "recovery" option, and press power to select, which should reboot into recovery
With a little help from The Google I came across this - http://www.htc1guru.com/downloads/ruu-file-downloads/ - Hopefully one of those will be the right one for you. Before you flashing or doing anything you should answer a few questions - Are you S-off or S-on? What model HTC One do you have? You should able to figure out a lot of this information from your Bootloader page, at the very least you should be able to tell the hboot, OS, CID and Radio versions, from that information you hopefully will be able to figure out which RUU you should be using.
The thing is that here i dont find my RUU , the radio version it`s not the same with my phone radio version .

This would be the appropriate Recovery for that RUU version.

From what you are describing you installed the stock recovery, if you want to be able to access the recovery and install rom, backup/restore and more you need a CWM or TWRP Custom recovery. For these you need to make sure you get the right one for your model/version HTC One.

[Q] Pls help - HTC One X stuck on quietly brilliant screen and won't restore

Hi Friends,
First things first - I have looked up and tried several things that other folks facing similar issues have tried. None of it has worked for me.
Coming to the problem now.
It all began when I decided to unroot and install a custom ROM on my stock HTC One X and downloaded a stable build from http://wiki.cyanogenmod.org/w/Install_CM_for_endeavoru.
I followed the tutorials and unlocked my device and started off with CWM recovery 5.8.2.7. Did some experiemenation with backup and recovery. So far, so good.
I decided to use the 4.4 ROM and as per some information available it needed me to update to CWM 6.0.4.8. I did so but when I tried to go in recovery, the screen went blank. Tried it multiple times without luck.
Then I switched over to TWRP 2.7.1 and used it to install the cm-11-20141112-SNAPSHOT-M12-endeavoru.zip. It failed with status 7. Assert checks on bootloader ver failed (as per checks it would need anything 1.28 or higher). I am on hboot 1.12. I extracted the boot.img from the rom zip and flashed it from fastboot. It showed no change in hboot version (maybe this is where I faulted). It still won't install rom zip as I would expect.
Now the phone won't go beyond "Quietly Brilliant" screen on power on. Recovery to saved backup says its successful but it still gets stuck at same screen on reboot.
Would appreciate help and pointers from anyone who could help.
Thanks in advance,
Kunal

Thanks in advance,
Kunal

Ok.....so as I mentioned in my first post, I did play around with CWM 5.8.2.7 at the beginning and had made a backup. So I flashed CWM again and was able to restore my device.
Now, I need to update to CM11 ROM and would need help with that please. I guess what I already have is there in the first post I put in this thread. Here's the dump of fastboot getvar all

Hi Thant,
Thanks for your tip. I will give this a try (though I will be able to try it out someone later this week only and provide update how it went).
Having said that, I have one question though - the link to RUU you specified looks like for unlocked HTC Europe version. I'm from India and I found that there might be one with same radio for India here.
Not doubting your advice, but just want to know what is the basis for knowing what RUU one must use ?
Also, can I choose the one for India (RUU_ENDEAVOR_U_JB_45_S_hTC_Asia_India_3.14.720.24_Radio_5.1204.162.29) ?
thanks,

yes if you want, most of the people like European version not Asian. It is your choice you are S-OFF and you can flash what you want on your phone. And the radio is the same

Hi Thant,
I did try the RUU you told me to use but update failed with error 159.
There are some RUUs for Indian models at http://www.androidruu.com/?developer=Endeavor and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2189048 but none for JB.
I have provided the getvar dump earlier but can't seem to find what I need to use (sorry for being a noob here). Please suggest what I can do more.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
thanks,

Hi Thant,
I have not yet tried tried the ICS RUU you suggested. But before I go ahead, here's some more info.
The Android version, HTC Sense version both say "Protected"
Software number is "Unknown"
HTC SDK API level is 4.23
Kernel is 2.6.39.4-g7ecc196
Baseband version is 2.1204.135.20
Build no. is 0.1.0.0 (20130509 EndeavorU_Generic_WWE#178434)
Boot loader says -
ENDEAVORU XE ENG S-OFF RH
CID-11111111
HBOOT- 1.12.2000 (PJ461****)
CPLD-None
MICROP-None
RADIO-2.1204.135.20
Now, should I go ahead with the ICS RUU ?
How do I know what Android version I'm on ? Why would it say protected ? Any command I can fire from fastboot/adb ?
[getvar says (bootloader) version-main: 0.0.0.178434]
Thanks for all your time & help,

Hi Thant,
Before trying what you suggested (for manual update) I tried the ICS RUU once again. It went through fine this time not sure why, then I did an OTA upgrade and now I'm on Android 4.0.4 hboot 1.12 (same as before but on 2.17.720.2). There are no more OTA updates available, though HTC india website says there is one available for 3.14.720.24 which is JB version and should automatically update my hboot which I can then hopefully use to update to 4.4 ROM. Do you think what I think is going to work ?
But I can't find the OTA firmware for 3.14.720.24. There was one available here but no more.
There's one here but not sure about the authenticity of this.
I have downloaded the firmware zip you shared but it seems the file is corrupt.
Thanks,
Kunal

[Q] Get back to stock M8 VODAP110 - Having massive problems

Good morning guys.
I am wondering if anyone is able to help me before i go completely nuts trying to work this out. (I also hope its ok to make a new thread)
A few weeks ago i rooted my M8 following the steps on this website (htconeroot. - how-to-root-htc-one-m8/) with no issues at all. Unlocked the boot loader and also there is the software tag saying modified (my understanding is this is normal). Installed the custom recovery with no drama.
A couple of days ago i got the OTA notification that i can now download 5.0.1 (Happy days) however this is where i seem to be running into problems. I know that i need to revert to the stock recovery from TWRP and then from here need to relock the boot loader to install the OTA update. I think my main problem is that i don't know what version of the stock rom i need to install. I have tried a few but none of them will boot into recovery from the boot loader.
So this is where i am.
Boot loader works fine and will run fast boot and boot to custom recovery - does state that the OS - (Blank)

I have a swisscom locked phone (VODAP110) the software version is (3.29.166.9 from phone) however the main-version is blank, another website said i need a stock recovery (x.xx.166.x - Vodafone CH-DE (Switzerland - Germany))
The last stock recovery that i put on the phone was (3.29.161.5 recovery.img) this then would allow me to start the phone and run the OTA update. From here the phone will restart and start the update but after about 20/25% the phone will crash displaying a picture of the phone with a red triangle and upside down exclamation mark. I read somewhere that if this problem happens to erase the cache and it should fix the problem but it didn't.
Could anyone please point me in the correct direction or help me solve the problem i am having.
Do i need to ?????
1) install the correct stock recovery (if so could someone please help me find the correct version)
2) Flash the stock rom from HTCDev (no clue how to do this with fast boot and if it will restore the recovery)
3) Give up on OTA and look for a custom 5.0.1 flash and use TWRP to flash from recovery.
Thanks so much for any help.

Maybe this one works? This is the 3.29.161.9 recovery. It's from my VODAPE17 cid
1: download the ota, take out the firmware.zip and in that zip is a recovery.img. that is your correct stock recovery that you need.
2: go to the general section - collection of backups and firmwares. Have a read there and look for your cid in the list with backups.
Please do not relock the bootloader that is not needed for an ota !
And delete your serial !
I was forgotten to paste the url: https://mega.co.nz/#!nZkCWZAL!djqZnzAlVfHslzWJxUxvW5cLKHdI9BIhr_uxzjFxbng
I also have this Problem with my M8 (3.29.166.9). I also flashed the new recovery from the OTA, but when i flashed the OTA, the recovery wrote Status 7 error ...
New download of the OTA doesn't worked..
Any Idea ?

Back to stock problem
Hello,i have a similar problem. I did everthing as you, rooted, custom recovery and unlock bootloader on htcdev, all to try out custom roms like arhd and so on. But i didn't do a nandroid backup, because i'm a fool and didn't know what i was doing. When i wanted to go back to stock i tried flashing 3.29.161.9 as it's similar to our stock rom but had no luck, still no updates. When i go to fastboot my os says os-3.29.166.9,so clearly there lies i problem. i need i stock 3.29.166.9 nandroid backup so i can go to stock. i've downloaded the recovery you uploaded and put it in 3.29.161.9 rom but no luck. So can you please upload a 3.29.166.9 nandrod backup. Thanks in advance. And mister Petert87 and Mr Hofs if you have any idea how to solve my problem please tell can you tell me. Cheers guys

Sorry to resurrect this thread, I would really appreciate if anyone could share a nandroid backup. Phone not working. I appreciate the OTA's you shared, but I am note sure how to proceed from there. Nandroid would help.
Thanks in advance.

@ckpv5
Did you not have backups for x.xx.166.x, or am I mistaken?

Are you running a rooted stock ROM when your phone now not working ? If yes, can you install TWRP recovery and make backup of the system part only. Then upload it for me, I'll try to fix it. I've done this many times with other rare ROM like WIND, Taiwan version, Optus, Telstra and many more.
If possible, just PM me the link.. this is the only way that I can help you and @dexterts

No. I don't have because I can't find any version nandroid for x.xx.166.x anywhere out of XDA
That's why I'm asking these guys to help them
And if that @raynordg guy respond to notification ... he can help too. He was scared about his data on nandroid backup ... system partition has no user data.

Yes ... change CID and flash EU WWE RUU if you want it on .401
If only firmware, you can restore a EU WWE backup and do OTA .. but for now only lollipop the latest and there's already lollipop RUU, you can check EddyOS thread for RUU method : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2735235

[Q] HTC M8 Wifi problems on several Roms -HELP!

I was hoping someone could help me with a problem I have.
My htc M8 was rooted and insertcoin was flashed onto it however the wifi button greyed out and wouldnt turn on in order to s-off it. I tried several different roms and they all have the same problem. I am currently running skydragon v5. I have been trying to sort this phone out for a week and I am getting absolutely nowhere so any help would be appreciated. It's on ORANG001 and is s-on.
Thanks
You have old firmware. You need to have 4.19.61.2 on ORANG001 in order to have wifi on these ROM.
And you post this in wrong section.

Apologies, new to the forum it's been moved now!
Yeah .. requested it to be moved to correct section.
So .. you need to restore your stock ROM and do OTA up to 4.19.61.2
What's your current firmware version .. 3.33.61.9 or 2.26.61.1 ? Or even lower ?
Check what's written on bootloader - hboot 3.16 or 3.18 .. you need 3.19

That's a very low version ... you need to restore to stock backup 1.54.61.5
But I deleted my TWRP backup for most 1.xx.xxx.x only keep 2.x; 3x & 4x
There is someone else backup made with Philz recovery so you need to download Philz recovery - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2703223
then download the backup : https://mega.co.nz/#!WhwRmSoJ!QJxmI0gYj7t_0Hc4fMKx0XLYQ2n45S3OfrEcDRS3C-s
restore that backup with the stock recovery (included in that backup if I'm not wrong)
then do multiple OTA

Okay cheers for your help!
I was trying to adb push the firmware to my phone to then install it on Recovery but when im typing "adb devices" it says list of devices attached then it is blank. I have been trying to search for solutions but I cant seem to fix it. If you have any advice it would be much appreciated. Thanks
Has anyone got an idea?

This is usually an issue on the computer's side (PC?). Try to re-install HTC drivers, try another USB port, or another cable. Also, if you have USB 3.0, this is known to cause issues with adb connectivity (apparently, you can disable this).
Also, you need to be booted into OS or in recovery for adb to work (does not work in bootloader) and you need to have USB debugging activated in Settings.
And when you say "firmware" I think you mean a nandroid backup, based on the instructions previously given to you? Be careful using the term "firmware" here, as most folks use that term to specifically mean the firmware.zip that contains hboot, radio etc. (but not ROM).

Don't you have a MicroSD ? Put the extracted nandroid on MicroSD at the right location clockworkmod\backups\ is easier than doing that ADB push.
Okay finally got the nandroid backup installed. Then when i tried to install the OTA update it took me to CWM and failed. So i then relocked and tried again to update OTA and it took me to the bootloader with a ***Relocked*** and *** Security Warning*** any ideas ?
You need to re-install the stock recovery in order to OTA. Bootloader lock has nothing to do with it (will OTA with unlocked bootloader).

Stock ROM backup and stock recovery are two different things.
You need to fastboot flash recovery recovery.img to replace the CWM that you have now. Inside the backup zip, there is a recovery.img .. take this out and fastboot flash it.
You need to unlock bootloader to flash it.
when using the command "fastboot flash recovery recovery.img" using the recovery.img from the unzipped nandroid folder the process runs and it says okay with no errors then when i try go into recovery the red triangle and exclamation mark appear again

Yes that's stock recovery. Perform the ota now
Because that is stock recovery. You don't need to get into recovery.
Just reboot, check OTA, download then select install.
Let the system do the installation on its own
