Hi all and thanks in advanced for all the help.
I'm not terribly new to the forums and have been installing roms on my SGH T-989 for a couple years now. Recently I have been having a bootloop problem with any and all Roms/Kernals.
I have tried restoring back to stock/unroot and still boot loops. I am able to restore to my previous backup, so I can still use the phone but I can't install any nightlies or new roms. After installing, everything seems to install fine, it boots with the splash screens then when it gets to the "android is upgrading optimizing app ## of ##" it works till the last one then says "finishing boot". At this time it will freeze and restart.
I am running android 4.2.2 AOKP nightly 2013-6-30; kernal version 3.0.72-cyanogenmod-g2c1e1a3; with T989UVMC6 radio

Hi for some strange reason out of the blue my n7105 has just developed a bootloop. I can reboot into recovery and have tried to do a restore but it still gets stuck in a bootloop. Anyone got any suggestions I don't want to loose all my data unless I have to
Have you tried flashing stock ROM?
How you restore?
what happens if you boot to recovery?
I've been trying to avoid it but at the 10th time of trying I've got past the samsung logo and got to "samsung is upgrading" so think I'm ok. No idea what caused the bootloop it's been fine ever since I flashed deadmans rom at xmas. All I've downloaded is shadowgun deadzone from the playstoe
So here is the problem, I try and install a new ROM with TWRP and it goes through with no problems. Once I go to restart it, the problem begins. My Note keeps getting stuck when it gets to the updating andriod apps screen after the initial (first) reboot after install. I have tried this with two different roms and can not get it to work. An outlying problem that i also have is that when it is off for long periods of time when I turn it on it gets stuck in system boot mode (boot animation). I have no idea what is going on. Can someone please help.
Current Setup:
NOTE 2
TWRP
MACK Allstar 5.0 Rom
Only one .bak on the system update.
Everything else is APK based
So I tried out the MJ5 4.3 leaks for a while and then switched to 4.4 OmniROM until there was a nice stable 4.3 TouchWiz ROM out, but the 4.4 roms currently have a few bugs that keep them from being a daily driver for me. However, I can't seem to get any MK4 roms to work on my device.
Everytime I flash them after a full wipe using TWRP and Philz, the system runs okay while I'm setting it up until eventually things start force closing and the phone restarts. And every time it restarts, be either by itself or from the power menu, it gets stuck in a bootloop. And not even a regular one, it gets stuck even before the boot animation right on the Galaxy Note 2 N7100 text. Wiping cache & data do nothing, doing a factory reset makes it boot again but very unstable and in the next reboot the problem is back.
I have a N7100 with the latest TWRP recovery and I've tried flashing with Philz recovery as well. Tried the DN3 rom, Phoenix ROM, Dr Ketan's ROM, Wanam's ROM and Sotmax and all of them have the same problem. There was a thread here a few days ago with someone having this exact same problem and I started following it but it suddenly dissappeared a day later before anyone had a solution.
Any help?
Optimizing App boot loop?
Tried updating from 5.02 to 5.1 using wugfresh nexus tool kit. (which I have used with all previous updates 4.4-5.0, 5.0-5.01, 5.01-5.02 and has worked great) I was rooted so I flashed the system image (like I usually do then re root...)via toolkit. Update finished without errors. Phone rebooted and went into "updating apps" mode, finished then rebooted and went into "Optimizing Apps" routine. All seemed fine. After all apps are optimized the phone appears to reboot and repeats the same optimzation. Every time once finished optimizing apps, the phone repeats.
I can boot into recovery or bootloader still but I want to know what Is the best solution to fix this so I don't further mess up my device(if that's even possible)
thankyou!
Same problem for me on both Samsung tab 2 7.0 and my nexus 5 both running 5.1 roms.
I had the same issue. Flashing also boot.img solved the issue.
After that it is recommended to clear cache.
Hi guys, relatively new here.
To start of I wouldn't say that I'm a complete noob when it come to this sort of stuff but I'm at a bit of a loss here.
To sum up my issue real quick;
My Galaxy Tab 3 SM-t210r running 4.1.2 stock that I rooted a while back started acting strange. Google services begun to unexpectedly shut off or stop working and I was getting annoying os popups so I decided to install a new custom, debloated rom.
After a few quick google searched ended up downloading StockROM-Ultimate Edition for the t210r.
Launched into TWRP 2.8.0.0 recovery, did a wipe and installed said zip of rom.
Now the issue that arose here is that I can't seem to boot into the os at all. Upon restarting or powering off and on I am greeted with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen, it hangs there for about 10-20 seconds, reboots(screen goes black?) that same splash screen shows up and I'm booted back into TWRP.
After countless googles searches I decided to unroot and go back to stock FW.
I've found the correct 4.1.2 stock rom on sammobile. Opened up Odin 3.07 and flashed. Everything goes good, Odin says RESET, tablet reboots, same two Samsung Galaxy screens and I'm back into TWRP. Odin indicating PASS! after a few seconds in twrp. Whether I reset to factory setting in TWRP or not, after flash, I'm always ending up in TWRP with the os never booting.
tldr; stuck in TWRP boot loop after custom rom and even stock rom flash.
Any assistance would be great
