Optimizing App boot loop?
Tried updating from 5.02 to 5.1 using wugfresh nexus tool kit. (which I have used with all previous updates 4.4-5.0, 5.0-5.01, 5.01-5.02 and has worked great) I was rooted so I flashed the system image (like I usually do then re root...)via toolkit. Update finished without errors. Phone rebooted and went into "updating apps" mode, finished then rebooted and went into "Optimizing Apps" routine. All seemed fine. After all apps are optimized the phone appears to reboot and repeats the same optimzation. Every time once finished optimizing apps, the phone repeats.
I can boot into recovery or bootloader still but I want to know what Is the best solution to fix this so I don't further mess up my device(if that's even possible)
thankyou!
Same problem for me on both Samsung tab 2 7.0 and my nexus 5 both running 5.1 roms.
I had the same issue. Flashing also boot.img solved the issue.
After that it is recommended to clear cache.

Hello to all
I have Samsung Galaxy Nexus 4.2.1 stock and unlocked.
It worked perfectly to two years! From yesterday i have problem with it! My GN won't boot anymore, I can see just google and X (nexus) logo after that GN restart itself! This is repeated without stopping until I put out battery.
I have tried to clear cache, wipe data/factory reset in Recovery Mode but problem has continued!
I have unlocked bootloader and update to android 4.3 stock (non rooted) through ADB (google SDK), updated successfully but when phone has reboot problem has continued, GN restart non-stop!
In Fastboot mode/Recovery Mode phone it never restarted! I have left in this mode with hours to try if restarted but no It works without any problems in this mode! It restart only when phone boot up!
Can this problem to be hardware failure or not?!
Can anyone help me? What can i do to boot my GN again?
I hope in your your support

Don't panic, this problem is called bootloop and it's normal. Just download factory images from here and flash them by using this awesome guide by efrant!!
Also bookmark this link for future reference.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1812959
started having the same problem yesterday after 6 months of stability on a custom 4.3 rom.
oem lock then unlock to format, nothing, tried various methods of flashing back to stock via ADB with mixed results, normally more boot looping with it occasionally booting into a rom for ~5 seconds. so SOMETHING is working.
I tried Efrant's method about an hour ago, but its been sitting at the google logo since, I'm at a lost, I'm no stranger to boot loops when installing borked roms but this is the strangest problem I have ever had with an android device.
should I just chock it up to hardware failure?
Mostly yours USERDATA partition is corrupted.
Use FASTBOOT to reflash the USERDATA IMG and it should do the trick.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
did a total stock reflash again, got to the setup screen before it rebooted after ~15 seconds, bootlooping again. flashed the userdata img with a few different ones.
I'm trying to read my logcat but when I run the ADB command in clockwork It finds nothing.
I've done all steps by this awesome guide by efrant! But same problem here
I've tried to install 4.2.2 stock, 4.3 stock, all comands works but in the end when i press fastboot reboot my nexus it's in bootloop again restart restart and restart
Any other solutions :crying::crying::crying:
I've waited about 30 minutes after restarting non-stop, my GN boot to system i saw home screen of android but after 5 sec restarted again :crying:
I'm getting into my system once every 10 or so reboots. managed to turn off wifi in case that was the problem but still boot looping. I'm inclined to think it might be hardware related as I started having trouble in the middle of a text after several months of rom stability.
Good Morning All -
A few days ago, I dualbooted my N7 with Ubuntu. The installation went fine and the tablet was working with no issues over the last several days. Last night, I was using the tablet and set it down. I went to pick it up (roughly 5 minutes later) and the touch screen was unresponsive. I was at the lock screen but couldn't get it to unlock. I pushed the wrong key-combo first and the device took a screen shot.
I was able to reboot into fastboot and attempted to go to recovery. The device would just hang at the Google logo. I pushed a factory firmware update from my Ubuntu system and attempted to reset -- no joy. This morning, I used Nexus Root Toolkit from my Windows 8 machine to see if I could get it up. Root Tool kit worked fine, pushed the images over again and restarted but it continues to hang at the Google logo.
Looking for any other advice folks may have on getting the device to boot.
EDIT: I can get to the bootloader fine and the computer recognizes it.
Thanks!
Alright... I just attempted using NRT and flashing 4.4.2 instead of 4.4.3 to see if it would run through. No joy, again. Remains on the Google screen.

Im having the same problem with an unlocked unit. I would bet if you tried to do a factory reset in the android recovery menu it would give you a huge error all having to do with cache.

I'm unable to get into the restore menu. Hangs at the Google logo when attempting to get there.
I've tried about any solution I could find... Bumping one last time before I torch the unit :\
Nothing can be done. Its something inside. If its the 2013 model, call and get it rma'd. Sorry man.

Resurrecting this thread to keep a work log.
I made have made some progress but hitting another roadblock. I've been holed up at home due to an auto accident so I started tinkering with the N7 2013 again.
Using the Nexus Root Toolkit, I am able to launch "Boot Temporary - Custom Recovery" from the advanced options. The problem I now run into is TWRP's touchscreen will not work. I attempted to do volume up/down to see if I could select but it wouldn't. The software is not frozen as I can see the temperature changing.
Anyone have any thoughts or information on how to boot another custom recovery that uses button inputs? I appreciate any input.
Updates:
1. I was able to push TWRP via "fastboot flash recovery." It went to the Google Logo then loaded TeamWin screen. I started to see errors when the program launched. "Unable to mount..." multiple times then the device rebooted. Device stuck on the Google screen.
2. Shut the device down, booted back into Fastboot. Selected Recovery and it began loading again. This time, the app launched and worked. Touchscreen does not work but the CPU temp is fluctuating and minutes tick up.
Update 4:49PM Central:
1. I am able to install and boot into TWRP 2.8.0.1 through TWRP 2.7.1.1. Those versions load but of course touch screen does not work.
2. I have been unable to get CWM to load... It installs fine but I cannot boot into.
3. The factory recovery images also do not load.
Samsung Galaxy Nexus i9250
I had installed CWM Recovery and flashed my phone with cynogenmod, it worked fine for few months.
Now although the phone boots up just fine but it restarts automatically after few seconds.
Things i tried- From CWM recovery, formatted the phone but when i reboot the device starts up having all the apps so no changes.
- Tried to flash another version of cynogenmod, the process completes successfully but device boots up with previous settings and the problem still persists.
- Tried to flash the phone with stock android using Odin Mode, the process completes without error. And again the device boots up with previous settings and the problem.
Hi guys,
Need a bit of help. I was scrolling through Instagram when the phone froze, restarted, and now it just keeps restarting without being able to get past the Google logo. It did get to the colored dots ONCE after powering it down completely from bootloader. I was on stock 7.0 (but August or September security update), stock kernel, but rooted with SuperSU 2.76 and TWRP 3.0.2-1. I just downloaded the factory image and flashed the bootloader, boot, vendor, cache, system (radio is the same), and TWRP 3.0.2-1 and it's doing the exact same thing. I can't even boot into TWRP, it bootloops at the Google logo just the same. EDIT: I was able to get into TWRP once but the phone froze again and rebooted!
I would really like to recover my data partition if at all possible. Please help!
EDIT: I put it in the freezer for half an hour and when I took it out it was able to boot again. Copying my stuff now. Will update when it inevitably breaks again...
EDIT2: Once it warms up it freezes and starts to go into a bootloop again. Damn, most likely a hardware issue.
Hi guys, relatively new here.
To start of I wouldn't say that I'm a complete noob when it come to this sort of stuff but I'm at a bit of a loss here.
To sum up my issue real quick;
My Galaxy Tab 3 SM-t210r running 4.1.2 stock that I rooted a while back started acting strange. Google services begun to unexpectedly shut off or stop working and I was getting annoying os popups so I decided to install a new custom, debloated rom.
After a few quick google searched ended up downloading StockROM-Ultimate Edition for the t210r.
Launched into TWRP 2.8.0.0 recovery, did a wipe and installed said zip of rom.
Now the issue that arose here is that I can't seem to boot into the os at all. Upon restarting or powering off and on I am greeted with the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 splash screen, it hangs there for about 10-20 seconds, reboots(screen goes black?) that same splash screen shows up and I'm booted back into TWRP.
After countless googles searches I decided to unroot and go back to stock FW.
I've found the correct 4.1.2 stock rom on sammobile. Opened up Odin 3.07 and flashed. Everything goes good, Odin says RESET, tablet reboots, same two Samsung Galaxy screens and I'm back into TWRP. Odin indicating PASS! after a few seconds in twrp. Whether I reset to factory setting in TWRP or not, after flash, I'm always ending up in TWRP with the os never booting.
tldr; stuck in TWRP boot loop after custom rom and even stock rom flash.
Any assistance would be great
