So i'm an idiot. I wiped data/factory reset, wiped system, then also (accidentally!) wiped my sd card. I was planning on flashing jedi x 17 but now i have nothing to flash. It's been a while since I've done this but can i just flash via odin? if so, might someone help me out with a step by step? i really cant afford to brick this phone.
thanks
jason
Just take your microsd card out and plug it into your computer with a adapter and put the jedi files onto it. Pop it back into your phone. Boot into recovery and flash.

I'm sure you can use odin to flash jedi but just in case why don't you just do this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1975560 and then put Jedi onto your sd.

so i used my old nokia e72 as a sd card reader, put jedix17.zip on the 8gb sd card on it, then put that card into my sgn2, when i flashed it would only read it from external sd and then it said it couldnt read the e drive...so it aborted.
i feel like i was pretty close to pulling this off...any suggestions?

Hmm, maybe your Nokia formatted the sd card when you put it in and it needs to be reformatted for your Note 2 in order to work. Which in turn would mean you would have to delete Jedi and would be back to square 1.

sorry, its been a while and its late and im screwed if i dont get this done.

so just mount your sd in recovery and transfer the rom to the sd card and flash.

How would I do that if I wiped both the phone and sd card?

Just download the rom onto your pc and transfer the rom to your phone while you are mounted.
you will note that in recovery mode, you can mount your sd (formatted or not) to your pc. This will allow you to transfer files from/to your pc

Just to say, I have rooted a lot of devices and this is the first time this has ever happen to me!
While in recovery, I hit the wipe system button and now the device says that there is no OS on the device and is stuck on the boot screen. Is there any way to correct this? I am so lost without my GN2!

Just rooted and got s-off. Decided nows prime for a new rom. Downloaded touch of blue v3.0. Placed it on root of internal sd card. Biot into fastboot then to recovery. From there I trid to flash it choose zip from sd. Aborted something about a code 7. Been afraid to look. On my captivate it was that simple. Dowload to root of internal sd flash through recovery. Is that proper for dinc?

Hey tiny, do you know why this happens. I keep getting people saying that there getting status 7's, but when i flash it it works just fine. Could it be caused by people not wiping as instructed in the roms thread?

They could try TWRP but honestly that status 7 - set_perm: some changes failed smells like a bad download.
Ill retry when I get home. Redownload recheck md5sums. I checked it through mini adb which is what I used to do the root downgrade and s-off. How wiuld I check it once I move it from the comp to the phone?
Note 2, yeah son!
Md5sums are the saame while on the comp. Ill try to do a full wipe from recovery. Just to make sure it wasnt a dirty flash. Though im not sure how to check the md5sums after I put it on the phone.

Yeah I think something happened with SD card. Try using odin. I'm pretty sure you're not bricked. I remember reading somewhere along time ago about something about formatting the system and causing problems idk though lol. Do you happen to have another sd card that you can use? Are you on CWM or TWRP. If on CWM, use odin to put TWRP and try again.

Ive been in this position a couple times myself unfortunately. I formated everything internal/external SD cards and system, which left me with no bootable rom and no backup to backup from. (awesome)! so what i did one of the times this happended was 1. downloaded a rom TWRP flashable of course. 2. Placed the rom on my USB thumbdrive. 3. i had a usb otg stick that i was able to mount with TWRP and flash. and was back in business!!
another time i did this i used another phone (you could use your computer too if you have an adapter) I downloaded the TWRP flashable rom on to the microsd card, Stuck the card back in my phone and flashed it that way. again back in business!
Then of course there is the above mentioned way to Odin back to the very beginning with stock. Hope this helps and you get it figured out. But it does sound like your phone is totally fine, just need to figure out how to wake her back up. LOL.
Returning everything back to stock via Odin is the answer to your woed. As long as you're able to get into download mode (do not confuse download mode with recovery), you're golden.

I'll try it. But I did want to start over and reflash the rom. You think that would fix the problem or would I still have to install kies and all that. And what's the difference between JB and KK? Would I be better off with KK? Sorry for the noob questions. I'm not a programmer or anything I just like to tinker haha.
Going off that screenshots of wicked, your still on 4.3 jellybean and have not officially updated to kitkat. If your sdcard is not being recognized I would try using a SD card adapter and put into a computer and see if it picks it up in order to backup any data and then possibly format it to fat or exfat. I use mini tool partition to do all my formats and or partitioning if needed on my sdcards, it's a free program just google it.

Hi guys, i have a hard bricked i747 (Its swho as QHSUSB_DLOAD in pc). I was upgrading to stock 4.3 (it was 4.1.1) the odin file that I used was I747UCUEMJB_2024954_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I'm trying the debrick method via sd card, I download 3 debrick.img, but cant get it work. I tried to make the sd card in windows, and linux without luck (linux via virtual machine but ends the process correct, and as sd adapter I'm using a blackberry 8520) the micros sd is Kingston 16gb class4 (cant found any class 10 here)
So, any advice? I dont remember was topic is the debrick.img, but one of thes have this name debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img, is MJB like the odin tar that i was using. I use a USB JIG to try the download mode
So if someone have an advice, it would be greatly apppreciate.
Did you at least try several times with each image? It often doesn't work the first few times for some reason.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Yes, I did it a lot of times, in windows, and Linux (Lubuntu). I will keep trying and see if I can get a micro sd adapter because I'm using a blackberry 8520 as sd adapter. But in windows Win32diskImager finish the process, in Linux too so its seem thats is not the problem
Yeah, it'll finish, and it'll look like all is good but it still won't work sometimes. Really weird, I know. It could also be the sdcards you're using. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to tell this for sure....
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
Still no luck u.u do you have a link for another debrick.img? for tha rom that i was flashing? :/
The part that matters is what version your base firmware (boot loader/modem/etc) is. Since it bricked after flashing 4.3, most likely only the 4.3, maybe a 4.4.2 image will work. enewman17 has a few you can try here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15759
If nothing still works, there's probably not much you can do other than a JTAG service. Someone around here mentioned a good one for only $25, but I can't find the post....

No, the sdcard was in the phone all the time, i removed after first boot.
EDIT: I tried removing the sd card after boot in odin. Flashed the firmware (the same that I mention before) and still no luck. It will be ok if I flash a recovery and flash Kitkat bootloader? Or flash kitkat via odin? Or how about using a PIT?
Flash this with Odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660
If that doesn't work, you can try flashing with the pit file, let me know if you need one.
Which debrick.IMG are you using BTW? If its a 4.4.2 one, 4.3 firmware won't work. Also do not use the same 4.3 firmware as before since that's what caused the brick to begin with. And make sure you always remove the SD before flashing or you may have to start from the beginning again.
Can you link to where you got the file that bricked it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk
The debrick image has this name debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img. I downloaded from a debrick post. I have more debrick.img but thats the first that I used and works. The tar file that i used to flash, I have it for a long time, is the first time that cause that problem. I dont remember where I got it. I will download that file and try it. My internet is a bit slow, I will report back when I try it.
Sounds good. I just wanted to make sure it was an mjb image that worked.
Good luck!
