I747 Hard Bricked - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

Hi guys, i have a hard bricked i747 (Its swho as QHSUSB_DLOAD in pc). I was upgrading to stock 4.3 (it was 4.1.1) the odin file that I used was I747UCUEMJB_2024954_REV04_user_low_ship.tar.md5
I'm trying the debrick method via sd card, I download 3 debrick.img, but cant get it work. I tried to make the sd card in windows, and linux without luck (linux via virtual machine but ends the process correct, and as sd adapter I'm using a blackberry 8520) the micros sd is Kingston 16gb class4 (cant found any class 10 here)
So, any advice? I dont remember was topic is the debrick.img, but one of thes have this name debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img, is MJB like the odin tar that i was using. I use a USB JIG to try the download mode
So if someone have an advice, it would be greatly apppreciate.

Did you at least try several times with each image? It often doesn't work the first few times for some reason.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk

Yes, I did it a lot of times, in windows, and Linux (Lubuntu). I will keep trying and see if I can get a micro sd adapter because I'm using a blackberry 8520 as sd adapter. But in windows Win32diskImager finish the process, in Linux too so its seem thats is not the problem

Yeah, it'll finish, and it'll look like all is good but it still won't work sometimes. Really weird, I know. It could also be the sdcards you're using. Unfortunately I don't know of a way to tell this for sure....
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk

Still no luck u.u do you have a link for another debrick.img? for tha rom that i was flashing? :/

The part that matters is what version your base firmware (boot loader/modem/etc) is. Since it bricked after flashing 4.3, most likely only the 4.3, maybe a 4.4.2 image will work. enewman17 has a few you can try here: https://www.androidfilehost.com/?w=files&flid=15759
If nothing still works, there's probably not much you can do other than a JTAG service. Someone around here mentioned a good one for only $25, but I can't find the post....

Did you remove the sdcard after booting up, but before flashing?

No, the sdcard was in the phone all the time, i removed after first boot.
EDIT: I tried removing the sd card after boot in odin. Flashed the firmware (the same that I mention before) and still no luck. It will be ok if I flash a recovery and flash Kitkat bootloader? Or flash kitkat via odin? Or how about using a PIT?

Flash this with Odin.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660
If that doesn't work, you can try flashing with the pit file, let me know if you need one.
Which debrick.IMG are you using BTW? If its a 4.4.2 one, 4.3 firmware won't work. Also do not use the same 4.3 firmware as before since that's what caused the brick to begin with. And make sure you always remove the SD before flashing or you may have to start from the beginning again.
Can you link to where you got the file that bricked it?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-T999 using Tapatalk

The debrick image has this name debrick-SGH-I747U-CUEMJB3.img. I downloaded from a debrick post. I have more debrick.img but thats the first that I used and works. The tar file that i used to flash, I have it for a long time, is the first time that cause that problem. I dont remember where I got it. I will download that file and try it. My internet is a bit slow, I will report back when I try it.

Sounds good. I just wanted to make sure it was an mjb image that worked.
Good luck!

Ok, I did thanks to you I downloaded that ROM, and installed removing the sd card, and now boots!!!!!! Its working
I will delete my old tar rom and keep that new rom. Thank you so much really

Awesome! Really glad to hear youve got it working again!
Good luck with the computer!

how do i flash a zip file rom on download mode?? lost
Do you not have a cable to connect the phone to the computer ?
If not, perhaps you should buy one (they are cheap) before continuing on. I know you can transfer files without one, but it's really invaluable and I wouldn't start messing around in my phone without it in case something like this happened.
Do you have an SD card in the phone now ? Do you have an adapter or something ?

You don't flash zips in odin. Flash the fw .tar.md5 file.

Yes. Use Odin to install root66 from docs sticky thread in android development.

Yes just follow the directions step-by-step using the root66_TMO_T999UVDLJA.7z file for T-mobile. Do NOT SKIP any steps. Also to note, after you flash, you will be on a completely stock rom but WITH root (rooted).

Well, the fw is just short for firmware. Not part of the file name.
Basically you download the version you want, UVDLJA for jb, UVALJ4 is the latest ics.
If you want pure stock, get the regular firmware. If you want root, use the root66 version. (Root66 is identical to stock fw but is pre-rooted).
Flash whichever one you choose and you will be fully stock.
If you go to the firmware thread in my sig you will find all available firmwares, regular and root66 (ignore the ota files).
In post 2 of the thread you will find Odin, Drivers and instructions. Look for the Odin Instructions, not Mobile Odin.
If you alreadyhave kies or drivrrs installed, don't reinstall them unless you're having problems.
Good luck! Ill try to keep popping in to see if you have any more questions.

Or use mrRobonsons thread. Whichever is easier.
Some get confused, but use 7zip to extract the root66 firmware.
Tbe file you flash in odin will have the extension: .tar.md5

[Q] Stuck on boot screen after wiping system (accidentally)

Just to say, I have rooted a lot of devices and this is the first time this has ever happen to me!
While in recovery, I hit the wipe system button and now the device says that there is no OS on the device and is stuck on the boot screen. Is there any way to correct this? I am so lost without my GN2!

[Q] Odin a stock firmware

If i use odin to flash a stock firmware will it delete all of the pictures inside the phone?
No. I have pictures and music and all SD card contents dating back to the time I bought the phone and I used Odin last week to return to stock.

No, but you may need to factory reset, which would delete all the files in your device..
There are possible ways trying to get around this, but its safer to just back up your important files in case something unexpected happens

Hmm.. Ok try flashing firmware with Odin, if that doesn't fix it then flash twrp recovery and reboot to recovery, after that do a factory reset within twrp.. This will perform a factory reset without wiping user files.. Reboot and it should boot up
Edit: oh and yes I know, wish it was mine :/

What firmware version did you try to flash? If it was ever updated to 4.3 you can only ever flash the same or newer firmware again. So if it had been updated to NC2 before, you can only flash NC2 firmware. (Latest version). If this doesn't apply, you might want to try reinstalling drivers. Also, only use Odin v3.07 or 3.09.
You can try to odin flash twrp recovery though, then make a nandroid backup to be safe. It also has a built in file manager and you can use it to copy the picture folder from internal to external sd card.

Yes, you can flash a custom recovery without root. Its actually the original root method if I'm not mistaken. (Flash recovery, then from that recovery flash the SuperSU update zip. )
Since youre using the latest firmware, we know that's not the cause at least.
Few other things that are known to cause Odin to fail...
Make sure you are using the correct firmware for the device. (Make sure if its a T999, T999L, T999N, T999V and use the corresponding firmware)
If kies is on your computer, uninstall it
Try different usb cables, yes they quite often do go bad.
Try every usb port on your computer. I've seen more than a few people find it only worked on one usb port! No idea why...
Try different driver versions. Make sure you uninstall through device manager. Drivers are in my sig.
If all else fails, try a different computer if possible.
If I think of anything else ill add it.

Not all bricks are fixable, and if you've ever updated to 4.3 or above, older images will not work.

i detailed what i did to my at&t Samsung galaxy s3 i747
.my at&t s3 i747 running 4.1.1
.i tried to put 4.3 through Odin(its almost done the work)
.but after finishing work my phone gets automatically rebooted(while android updating)
.and failed by turned off(total dead)
that's what happened.i tried lot of debrick images from 4.1.1 -4.3 of at&t s3 i747
.........but when i used connecting my phone to charger without battery, the red LED blinked
So Odin said PASS and it rebooted? That part is normal. And are you saying that after it rebooted, it said Android is Updating and then it just died?
If i am reading that correctly, I don't know that this debrick method will work for you. It leads me to suspect that there is a deeper hardware problem, possibly with the memory I'm guessing.
It's still worth a try though. From what you described, you are going to need the 4.3 debrick.img though. The 4.1.1 image won't work after flashing 4.3.

Ok. So you are able to boot download mode, correct? Let's get it booting on its own for now, we can worry about updating after.
Download the MJB 4.3 firmware from here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2722660
Extract the .tar.md5 file
Remove the sdcard
Flash the MJB firmware in Odin
Reboot.
If it hangs during boot up, reboot into recovery and factory reset. (This will wipe internal sd unless you flash a custom recovery first).
At this point you should be back up and running normally. Let me know how it goes and Good Luck!

dude i put stock s3 4.3 bootloader.
and its working fine without the debrick image SDcard...
what should i have to do after that to get a 4.4.2?
That's awesome news! Glad to hear it's fixed!
You have a couple of options to update from here. If you are with AT&T, got to Software Update in the About Device menu. Might take a day for the ota to become available.
Alternatively, enewman17 has two threads in the General section for updating from MJB to NE4. One will fully update everything to 4.4.2. The other will only update your base firmware, leaving your rom, kernel and recovery as is.
I recommend reading both OP'S and the last few pages of each thread. Then pick which one you want to use.
If you have rooted or flashed anything since debricking your phone, I highly recommend using the one that only updates the base firmware.
If you are still 100% pure stock, either one should work fine. (I do still prefer the base firmware update personally, but either should work ok.)
If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask. And congrats on fixing your device!

SM-T310 revert to stock? Help?

I have a SM-T310, wifi only. Forgive me please, I do not understand the vernacular for Androids. I've owned this PDA for about three years and just flashed it.
I installed TWRP. I rooted it. I put CM13 (Cyanogenmod Marshmallow) on it. It has some issues that makes me want to revert back to 4.4.2. I have unrooted it.
I have tried using ODIN and a downloaded 4.4.2 to revert back to stock, but ODIN fails. Help? Does it need to be rooted to go back to stock?
The primary purpose of this tablet is to watch movies. I throw MP4 files onto an SD card, stick the SD card in there, and enjoy. CM13 doesn't like to handle SD cards that way, and the only way I can figure out how to watch the movies is through File Manager which messes with the aspect ratio, and gives no playback features. VLC doesn't recognize the MP4 files on the SD card, and it takes too long to transfer the files to the tablet.
Help?
Edit: I've tried to re-root my tablet, but it fails. I've tried Kingoroot both APK and Windows. Doesn't work. So, now I'm stuck...
Anyone? Am I supposed to flash the stock ROM through TWRP? Help? Please?

No you flash it through Odin. Did you get it from sammobile.com/firmwares/ ?
It could be just a bad download, maybe re-download and try again. Also, Odin is finicky about which usb cable you use, you might need to try a different one.

It is the same cable I successfully used to initially put Marshmallow on it. I've tried using Kingoroot both the APK and the Windows App but failed each time. I also tried multiple downloads including the one you mentioned. I guess I may just be stuck with it...
Any other ideas?
