Hi Everyone!
Just upgraded to the Optimus G and lovi it.
I am trying to create a shortcut on the home screen to open a folder that will contains link to apps (like all imaging, gallery camera, picasa that kind of stuff). Apex created on for google and it is exactly what i am looking for except for the app part
Any suggestions?
Thanks
J
I'm not sure if there's a way for the app drawer to have folders in Apex, but on your home screens all that you should have to do is drag your apps on top of each other and it will make a folder for you. Then, there are some folder options in the Apex settings for how you want it to look.

You need the pro version of apex to have folders in the app drawer, the apex menu adds the option "create folder".

On the drawer...tap that three vertical dot on the top right corner. There's "create folder" option. When chosen, you'll be directed to the list of apps. Check an apps you want to be in that folder. Can be renamed after.

So on the newest version of adw that came with 6.1 the trash got moved to the top. While figuring this out I managed to replace the app draw with my gallery. How do I get the app draw back?
Find ADW on your Manage Applications list and click the restore defaults button. That should do it for you.

On a screen that you can add a widget or shortcut, add a "custom shortcut" then choose "pick your activity", next choose "launcher actions" add the "open/close app drawer" option. Now you can drag and replace whatever you added

Thats funny I did the exact same thing. Expecting to remove an app I instead put it on the dock replacing the app drawer.

You would probably have to find an app or a different launcher to do it, i have looked all though this rom and found nothing to create folders outside of the stacked folders on the homepage

Drag an icon of an app onto the top of another icon and a folder will automatically be created.

Yeah, why don't you re-read the question.....
EDIT: I devoured the Trebuchet v0.1 (CM9 default launcher) in and out, but can't find a way to create tabs or manage tabs in app drawer. Currently I have around 270 apps and games on my phone, so I need the feature badly! I finally gave up and purchased the Nova Launcher Prime for $5; it's the best launcher ever, it got everything I wanted.
For the free alternative, try ADW Launcher. ADW has been updated to match the look and feel of ICS, and although it's not as smooth as Nova, it DOES HAVE folders and custom tabs in app drawer. Cheers.

I just realized I can make folders in my app drawer and organize it. I've never seen any launcher do this. Has it been a touchwiz feature for a while or new for the note2.
Apex does it. Think nova does it too

whenin the app drawer hit menu, select edit, pick the folder you made and click the + icon. Then select all the apps you want to put in that folder.
I was using apex on my last phone. I guess I never noticed it. Thanks for the info guys.

You could allow widget overlapping and place the folder over the widget.

Hey gang,
I can't find the shortcut to launch the LG Health app. It's NOWHERE to be found on my phone! I know the app is installed as I can access it via the 'G' screen on the left of the home screens. I don't have any apps hidden in the app drawer either.
Can any of you guys see it in your app drawer?
You have use the LG extra page, whatever the name, to see it. You can't start the app itself it seems.

Really?
How rubbish! I won't be using that then.
Thanks
Yeah you can only use the widget at the home screen.
Is there some smart app to create your own shortcut maybe? A lot of LG stuff goes out the window if you start using another launcher.

I've just done that very thing!
I'm using Nova and I've made an shortcut to a Nova 'Activity' which exposes everything the phone can do pretty much.
If you're not using Nova there are apps in the store that will do the same. Smart Shortcuts is one.

Interesting.... Have you found one that gives you access to the Widget 'Smart Notice'?
That is the one widget I would like to use with Nova.
It's also a shame Nova does not give you access to LG Health by means of a separate home screen. Yes you can do as you say, make a shortcut Activity to LG Health but an icon is not the same as swiping to its own widget style home screen!
