I just realized I can make folders in my app drawer and organize it. I've never seen any launcher do this. Has it been a touchwiz feature for a while or new for the note2.
Apex does it. Think nova does it too

whenin the app drawer hit menu, select edit, pick the folder you made and click the + icon. Then select all the apps you want to put in that folder.

If you mean the one below its in system/app/TouchWiz30Launcher.apk/res/drawable-hdpi and its called mainmenu_icon_application.
Grab a theme or rom that has this launcher included and unzip it with 7zip then go get it.
Is it possible to do that from my phone? Won't it tell me the apk is already installed? My computer is out of comission for a minute

Edit: I was able to extract the file but when I try to set it in launcher pro I can't find it... I can find the folder its in but it doesn't show up
Edit #2: got it just had to run the meddia scanner thanks for the help
No worries, glad it worked.

Have you tried going into the app drawer>menu>edit and dragging an icon off and replacing it?

That's how you do it for sure, but you should try while on the homescreen long pressing the old msging app and see if you can drag it to remove. Then you can drag and drop the gv app in the open spot. The stock ics launcher allows you to do it that way so you don't have to go into the app drawer and then menu then edit. I'm not sure if the TW launcher can do that though. I haven't used that launcher since GB. I'd be curious to hear if you can.
The TW launcher won't let you, I just tried it.

And ya I double checked, it is Applications > Menu > Edit
It may tell you that you need to change the app drawer to customizable grid, just click ok.

Absolutely... when editing your uccw widget tap the menu to enable hot spots. Do a search for uccw and you'll find some really cool pre made stuff with a ton of instructions. I'll find my favorite thread for you....

Hi. This appears to be an answer to something I have been trying to figure out. I've read the thread you posted, and have played pretty extensively with the Tasker app. I think I have done a lot of reading trying to solve this, but maybe am just not searching accurately. Could you point me somewhere that will explain how to set up a home screen folder?
My problem is an aesthetic one. I want my UCCW icons to look like icons for specific apps. For example, I have Keep on my home screen as an app, and a folder with FaceBook and BaconReader in it. I would love to have these use UCCW to define the folder, if possible.
I have Simi Folder, and I can sort of do what I want with it, but that app is not an ideal solution due to its lack of support.
Thanks.
Hi Everyone!
Just upgraded to the Optimus G and lovi it.
I am trying to create a shortcut on the home screen to open a folder that will contains link to apps (like all imaging, gallery camera, picasa that kind of stuff). Apex created on for google and it is exactly what i am looking for except for the app part
Any suggestions?
Thanks
J
I'm not sure if there's a way for the app drawer to have folders in Apex, but on your home screens all that you should have to do is drag your apps on top of each other and it will make a folder for you. Then, there are some folder options in the Apex settings for how you want it to look.

You need the pro version of apex to have folders in the app drawer, the apex menu adds the option "create folder".

On the drawer...tap that three vertical dot on the top right corner. There's "create folder" option. When chosen, you'll be directed to the list of apps. Check an apps you want to be in that folder. Can be renamed after.

Hello, just got my Note 10.1 and I love it!
One question though, my app drawer is missing some installed apps. I have Dropbox and Hangouts installed but they are not visible in the app drawer. They are not in the "disabled" apps either. The only way I can open them is to search for the app on the Google Play store. What am I missing? Thanks.

Go to settings apps all and see launcher then in bottom tap clear default touch home button and select always on launcher if still not fixed then try using other launchers like go launcher apex Nova next or others available at playstore.

Lol i dont know about that but thanks.
Yeah you can open up app drawer and then hit menu button and then edit.
Then click on the folder and move the apps out back outside into the app drawer and then just delete the folder if you want. Hopefully I explained that well lol if not message me again.

Correct, and to add to what you said,
If you want the entire folder gone and want to do it quickly, just bring up menu then select edit. Then drag said folder to "Remove" and it will delete folder and move all apps back to the App drawer.
