[Q] HTC ONE X - G sensor rotation (Invensense) - HTC One X

Good afternoon guys , First and foremost apologies if this has been posted before, i have seen snippets of information but no real fix , as such i would like to request to anyone with enough knowledge to adress this issue
I have an HTC one X , which has the MPU invensense , as such , i have NO G sensor , it simply refuses to work .
I have searched the forums and the issue has been adressed , with temporary solutions ( let phone fully discharge , and then recharge it , power off for 10 minutes , and then attempt to boot and see if it is fixed , reboot several times , etc )
Still , the problem remains , after flashing recently with the Maximus rom , not i cannot even access the camera as it force closes , and according to the read on that specific forum post , it is because of the G sensor error , as such , would it possible for any person with kernel level knowledge to adress this situation ?
My first idea would be some sort of file , that would allow the so called " Hardware reset " as they suggest on the Acer forums , as in to reset the sensor , in order to "unlock" it , if it makes any sense .
Thank you in advance
FYI , i am leaving the following link for the ACER a500 , wich , from another forum suffers from the same issues as the MPU is the same
http://androidforums.com/acer-iconi...veral-a500-ics-related-symptoms-problems.html
And the original post where i found the inital , albeit temporary solution

EDIT: Adding HTC information : HTC ONE X - 32 Gb White , International Edition ( Tegra 3 )

For some reason overheating the device (blinking red led) works really well to fix this (temporary solution unfortunately) you can check this thread for more info on this solution:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2420209
Still I don't know how to permanently fix this problem or if it's even possible without a hardware fix (I'm tired and sick of sending my device back to HTC, 4 motherboards and 1 completely new device so far...)

My HTC One X G Sensor is now working again!!!
My HTC One X was having screen problem in Aug'13, I send back to HTC for warranty and they have replaced a new unit for me. The same day i got the new unit, I unlocked it and flashed latest rom with sense 5. I notice that my G sensor stopped working. I search through the whole internet and all the solutions didn't work for me. I tried to overhead the phone and restart, flash other roms and nothing work.
I am sure that it was working before i unlocked it. So guess what, I try to relock the bootloader this morning and unlock it again, then the g sensor is working again!!! just sharing my experience as i was kind a hopeless when try to search for solution and nothing worked. hope this helps and good luck!

Hi friends, I have a similar problem but it happens sometimes and in differents conditions, but I don't understand why..

There is no fix. Only workarounds, if you fancy intentionally overheating your HOX, and IF it works.

Does not work on my unit.
Tried it several times and scoured the internet for as much info as i could find , and still only found the " workarounds " .
Planning on adquiring an HTC one , as i really enjoy HTC devices , but apparently the ONE is also riddled with constructions issues , seems like HTC is really dropping the ball on the end user experience.
A further question , is anyone aware if replacing the Board on an international version phone is doable in china ? i'm living in Shanghai at the moment and might just do it ( managed to also crack the screen this weekend so i have another reason to send it to a repair shop)

Proximity sensor failure

My DHD has problems with the proximity sensor. I returned the device to the vodafone store (Netherlands), and they changed the device for a new one that worked.
Today, 1 day later, my second DHD is now having the exact same problem with the proximity sensor.
When I make a call, the screen immediately goes black, and the device no longer responds to any button (not even the power button on top). The ony way to get the device back to life is by removing and reinserting the battery.
Video of the problem
When I receive a call, the screen stays unlocked, even when the device is placed against my ear, so I end up with my ear pressing the active screen....
I've read more complaints about this exact problem on the tweakers.net forum. It is still unknown whether this is a hardware of software failure.
UPDATE
The problem seems to be related to the lightsensor, when holding a locked DHD in front of a bright light source, the device wil unlock (as long as you keep it in front of the light).
It might be, that when used in bright daylight a DHD will function properly.
Also, when calling using the headset, the problem does not occur. When inserting a headset in a "locked" DHD, it will wake up.
UPDATE2
Some facts, to "bust" some myths about the problem:
- It seems the problem can happen on all DHD's, not just devices with a particular S/N, software version, carrier (telco) or color.
- It has something to do with the light sensor (which is the same sensor as the proximity sensor) since the device unlocks when held in front of a bright lightsource, some users claim their device works well, as long as they are in daylight.
- The DHD uses a CM3602 proximity/light sensor, the same as a regular Desire
- The problem might not occur immediately after purchase, sometimes it takes a few days before it starts, thus switching your DHD for a new one might only solve your problem for a few hours/days (this is what happend to my second and third... yes third device)
Seems like the same kind of problem: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=811282
Exactly the same post. Nice detail that I'm also a Dutch user bought it at a Vodafone store.
So, that's at least 3 devices reported with this problem.
Is there a way to turn off the proximity sensor? This would mean I have to turn the screen off manually when I make or receive a call, but that way, I don't have to reset the device every time I make a cell
Maybe you guys have found why it failed the google test ?
1-2-3 from the first stock - that is an failure that will come back to all of us...
did you try contact HTC ??
I wouldnt be very worried tbh, this is surely software related else they wouldnt release any batch of cellphones and delay the release for more than just a few weeks.
Can you make a Video and load it up on Youtube?
If we have a video it´s much easier to show HTC the problem... maybe we can load this video up on facebook to the HTC page...
Really bad if this failure concerns all DHDs. But why 3 devices?
I only count LeonM1234 and WizardX?
Edit: Ah I see 2x LeonM1234 and 1x WizardX. Forget this post

P.S. Can any mod please remove the 1 post per 5 minutes limit, it is quite annoying... thanks!
A lot of HTC phones have a similer problem. Its S/W related (the desire had it when it was first out e.g. it the screen used to go black and not re-light untill you placed it on a table or the other person hung up)
I would be suprised if 3 phones have the same fault unless it SW related :-D
HTC's new Windows phone seems to have a similar error with the proximity sensor:
As I'm a new user I'm not allowed to post a working link. I try to write it so the system accept it.
www . techeye.net / mobile/one-day-after-launch-event-windows-phone-bug-spotted
If this turns out to be true it's more hardware related than software, isn't it?
i think to cancel my DHD order until that issue will check.

Yep was solved with a S/W update
You can add one more to the list. Friend of mine had the same problem with his proximity meter. I will receive my D-HD either tomorrow or the day after, I'll let you know if it works properly.

HTC Titan WP7 touch Screen/ROM problem

I know most of you prob dnt have any problems with you Titan, but i do,
i tried 3 ROMs, see below:
#1 --> Eternity_HTC_Europe_1.08.401.02_Radio_16.23.02.09_ 2_16.24.00.23U_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE
#2 --> Eternity_HTC_Europe_1.08.401.06_Radio_16.23.02.09_ 2_16.24.00.23U_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE
#3 --> Eternity_HTC_Europe_1.09.401.02_Radio_16.23.02.09_ A_16.24.00.23_Signed_ETERNITY_RELEASE
And succesfully flashed,
Rom #1 is the one that works better with my phone, the touch is responsive enough, its smooth, like it should be, but sometimes the screen freezes, well i think its the touch screen that stops working, as the phone still plays a video after so.
BUT the big problem i Have with this ROM is I CANT UPDATE TO 7740, or any update ..... THIS GIVES ME THE Error Code 80180008
ROM #2 and #3 are basically the same, the touch screen doesnt work properly ( as you can see in the video) but i can makes updates successfully.
Please can anyone help me with this please?
Thnk you all
if you have problems with your touchscreen send your device to htc. they will give you a new device after 3-4 days and you have no problems. its possible that your device has a hardware issue like the htc mozart.

Probably a hardware issue, try this:
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...esult#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5jcC5zdGVzdCJd
If on this app, or a similar app, there is a dead spot, it should be almost most definitely a touch-screen issue.
Find the screen replacement thread if you don't have warranty
Edit:
did you drop the phone recently?
you were write
thanks very much ,
you were write - screen didnt work
i make test and - in the middle of screen nothing .
i am going to order new screen from china
You can click the thanks button for my ego if you like
Before ordering a new screen, read carefully the thread about HTC One X screen replacement. I ordered one from China myself, and it was poor quaity and had problems.
Goodluck
Sent from my HTC One X using xda app-developers app

ps i do have a htc desire eye on the three network in the uk
Hi there ,
As being another android user , i would suggest you to install an application such as Clean Master , and see what is consuming your system resources , and most probably another application is causing that lag on the phone .
Sometimes and app is keeps restarting again and again which may cause that issue .
Hope that helps

How did you solve?

Hello all
I also have this problem: HTC Desire on Three UK. One minute works fine, next it's practically unusable, everything has a slow response, typing takes 3-4 seconds for each letter to show up.
I've tried rooting, reflashing various roms, factory reset, etc. the works. The only thing I couldn't reset was the firmware. Whenever I tried to do this I got incorrect CID / custom ID fail. I've tried many different methods of making a gold card but none seem to work. I haven't tried with a Kingston 2GB uSD yet so that's the last chance saloon I think...
Just to save anyone the hassle of spending days trying various things, if you have HTC Desire Eye on Three UK, don't bother rooting the phone or reflashing to try and fix this unless you can find a way to get past the CID check. I've wasted days trying to fix this!
If anyone else has any ideas or if someone has resolved this issue I would very much appreciated hearing from you. Only had the phone 9 months and really don't want to have to buy another halfway through a contract! There must be a way to fix this...
EDIT: It is also slow and laggy / delayed response in TWRP recovery, so unlikely due to any unusual app behaviour.
Cheers,
Aaron
I have the same problem too, the phone has become unusable. Did anyone find a solution to this problem??? Please help just bought this phone and really getting pissed off with this problem

Hello,
same for me. HTC Desire Eye, bougth less than 10 months ago, stardard usage. Yesterday in the evening, it started same behavior (3-4 seconds for each single letter on the keyboard, all extremely slow like all memory exausted).
Hard reset useless, the first HTC logo at the bootstrap takes 10 seconds to completely display logo and android signature.
Only change is throwing away the phone and buyng a new one?
Italian SIM cards, mobile phone bought in Arabian country, no issue till yesterday,

hi, i have the same issue since december 15th, does anybody found any solution? could it be a hardware issue? my phone ran pretty good until now, i have 10 months with my Desire Eye
i have 4.4.4, tried 4 hard resets, formatted SD, no SD, without Sim, no luck!
Ok i think its a gpu problem... My desire eye is also lagging so much.. When i looked at cpu z (its an app) my gpu load is 0. Its not usually supposed to be that way, right?
Here's the issue
Mine started doing this a few days ago. Tried doing everything I could to fix it. I didn't try to root it, flash a custom ROM, or Factory Data reset it (AT&T did it anyways made me lose a lot of files). The issue I assumed seemed to be the GPU. The load it at 0 making CPU 1, 2, and 3 work harder not noticeably, but enough to where the GPU was basically a paperweight inside of the phone. The best thing to do if it is still under manufacturers warranty is send it in. My issue is AT&T are sending me a replacement and I'm hoping it is refurbished with no noticeable damage physically. Because if it refurbished they will fix the errors with the phone. If it is new they should have produced something differently by then so it doesn't have the same issue. HTC has always been my favorite brand apart from LG and the Nexus line. Other than that there is no other viable solution to this issue.
P.S. I hope this helped a lot of people out.
I have the same problem, my htc Is so lagging and I flash it root too. Anyone has the solution?
I have the same problem disarmament tel. and moving one of the flex of the screen the phone worked OK but returned to be slow and can not run at the speed it should.
I think it is hardware problem
sorry for my English
same
same thing happened to me i am on marshmallow
and i was looking for a stock rom to try flashing it maybe it would work . but cant find any for my htc

Same problem here, did you guys have any work done to your phone before this happens? Factory reset did nothing, installed a system monitoring app too check CPU and memory usage-both normal. Audio is fine but video is super laggy just like the whole phone. Gonna disassemble it and check cables and connectors for the LCD but I suspect it is not possible to fix this problem, maybe a new LCD would work but I doubt it.
Same problem. i flashed every room but still laggy
If you`re rooted then download an app called Swapper from play store and set Swappiness to 0 and Boom your phone will be back to normal!
