No Gmail push notifications - Sony Xperia S, Acro S, Ion

I'm currently using Trinity Vengeance RaptorXL ROM that was restored from Slimbean. The push notifications worked before I flashed Slimbean and reverted to TVRXL. I don't know what's causing this. I tried many things like clearing data and degreenifying the app.

Your auto-sync is ON? If it is, go to Gmail, settings, not general settings, your gmail account settings and see if the Sync Gmail box is checked.

Still no luck. I think the only thing left to do is wipe data.

Don't wipe data. Go to settings/backup & reset/factory data reset and scroll down. Press Reset phone but don't check Erase internal storage box.

Are you sure. Because you said WIPE ALL. I said DON'T check erase internal storage. So you wiped all while I saved your internal storage. So when you comment, think,ok?

I mean in recovery. When you wipe data using recovery, it only wipes the phone's data storage and it doesn't include the sd card.

Sometimes it does.

[Q] Google+ on MIUI-XJ

Hi folks,
I am using MIUI-XJ 1.10.23 X-PART and have just installed Google+. I was once able to use Google+ on another ROM but now I'm having server connectivity errors just for this app. I'm wondering if this is ROM-specific...
Thanks,
D.

I've just wiped the cache partition from recovery - not sure if that's the same thing. That didn't help...
No, this wipes the cache of the rom.

I went to the app's settings but only the "Clear Data" button was enabled. I have even tried turning compatibility mode off (it was on by default) to no avail.

ONLY clear data for Phone
settings>Apps >select Phone >clear data
If it doesn't work. Probably corruption occurred during download or you flashed a bad theme.
Try re download ROM, format system and reflash

Cannot open gallery

Hey everyone,
I recently flashed jedi invasion 5 rom to my tmobile galaxy s3. For some reason I can't seem to open my gallery, it tells me I don't have enough space, however, I have plenty of space in both my internal memory and my 32gb sd card. Any help would be great, thanks
What were the steps you took in flashing the rom, we need a little more info to help you out.
Go into manage applications setting and clear app data for anything that has to do with media storage & gallery in the system apps list, then reboot. That may or may not help.

Sorry about that. So prior to Jedi invasion rom i was rooted with some stock rom. I basically went into clockwork recovery mode, i wiped user data, wiped cache, wiped dalvik, and then i flashed the jedi invasion rom. I have actually redid this process over a few times already, still however the gallery fails to load telling me that there isn't enough space. I have tried formatting my sd card, cleaning out my internal storage, clearing my gallery cache... all of those didn't help fix the issue either. Although, when i downloaded a different gallery from play store, that worked just fine.

Strange, only thing I can suggest from there is to wipe system and then re-flash the rom

It is strange... By wiping system do you mean wipe data/factory reset in recovery mode? Or is there another way you're referring to that does a more, for lack of better words, cleaner wipe?
I can't remember where it is under on CWM I'm a TWRP kinda guy. I think Mounts and Storage, and yes is't where all the system files are (the ones that aren't delete-able without Root Access). Like gallery and such. My guess some bad left overs from the other rom/gallery/camera aren't compatible with the rom/gallery/camera you have now.

You were right, I resolved the issue by fully wiping everything, data, cache, system, and even the internal sd. Thanks again for your help!

How to backup/restore IMEI?

I flashed ParanoidAndroid recently on my d2att and everything worked perfectly, except for the fact that it wouldn't recognize my SIM card. Fortunately, I was able to go back to CyanogenMod from the NANDROID backup I had made. I later found out the reason my SIM wasn't recognized was because my IMEI was wiped in the process... is there any easy way to backup/restore it or prevent this from happening next time?

Well, I'm not really sure, lol. Like I said, I haven't had to use it yet. Just figured having a couple extra copies of it couldn't hurt. I'll have to do some more research...
Did you ever end up recovering your imei?
Also when you switched from cyanogenmod to paranoid android, did you clean wipe? (wipe data, cache, dalvik cache AND wipe system?)

No idea. It was in the instructions for clean flashing in some ROM thread and I've always formatted system ever since just to be on the safe side.
Also I've found these two links. Hopefully they're of help to you.

Ringtone Doesn't Stick after Reboot.

This hasn't happened before when I was on 4.2.2...but since I've circle back to it from 4.3 to 4.1 and back to 4.2.2...all the ROMS will not keep the ringtone setting after a reboot. All the ringtones are in the /system/media folder. Currently using SlimRom. Anybody with experience with this or solution? Thanks.

I had slim rom 4.2 and now currently 4.3 The ringtones stuck just fine after reboot.
In recovery, wipe dalvik and Cache then reboot and immediately call your phone to test. Reboot again to confirm it still is correct. If its not then you need to wipe data for Media Storage under Settings and then reboot (to let media scanner do its thing) After that set the ringtone again.

I'll give that a try. Went back to 4.3 but will probably move back to 4.2 cause the Bluetooth on 4.3 is still wonky.

Speaking of Bluetooth, please read my post here. It has a possible solution. It may be unrelated Rom but the basic principle still applies.

So, as you already know from me posting in the 4.3 thread...I'm using slim 4.3. All was good til yesterdays weekly. Now the ringtones won't stick again. Did as you suggested, but still the same symptoms. Any other suggestions to try before I wipe and reinstall?

Yeah, wipe it. Media Scanner is set to - Scan media.
It's weird that its just the ringtone...the notifications tones stick just fine. So, I moved all media to extSD to check it out...same thing.
I guess I'll just backup and do a fresh install. (thought I was going crazy missing so many calls today).

I second trying this. I'm on stock 4.1.2 and have the same issue with the keyboard, unless I add it as a system app or remove the other ones.
