G-Lite first boot crash? - G2 and Desire Z Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Right after I flash G-Lite 2.0.1, Full Wipe, the Status Bar force closes and so does LauncherPro. Does this happen for everyone else? After a reboot, I get a message to send to HTC about the crash but everything seems stable and fine after that.

Home screen reboots after returning to it or pressing home button

Lately everytime I pressed the home button or returned to the home screen the home screen reboots with a "Loading..." box and no inputs are accepted except dragging down the notification bar. Any ideas? Memory issues?
I've tried uninstalling a few apps to free up some memory, but nothing seems to really work. Also checked if my task killer was "killing" the home screen in some way but didn't see anything wrong there.
Currently running LeeDroid 2.2f Desire GSM
Any help would be appreciated!
Ideas anyone??
Boot in safe mode and see if it happens again.
If it doesn't it's a third party process that is causing it.
If it does, you'll probably need to reflash, but first you may try to erase cache and data of the "htc sense" system process.

By "safe mode" do you mean recovery or bootloader or what is safe mode?
Tried clearing data on HTC Sense process but all it did was erase my home screens, still has to reload the sense UI everytime I exit a full screen app.
I guess I'll try to reflash sometime, maybe I'll give cyanogen a try.
To enter safe mode you need to power on your device while holding the menu button till the home screen shows up.
Are you rooted? Try clearing cache and dalvik cache? I used to have that problem and clearing the caches helped (I have sense moved on to other roms though)
Tried safe mode and cleared both caches no apparent difference.
Will try updating to Cyanogen and see if the problem is persistent. Will update with how this goes!
Let me know how this goes, I recently flashed LeeDroid 2.2f and started to experience the exact same problem.
Flashed to 2.3b yesterday, so far no homescreen problems but we'll see how it goes.
Just flashed most recent Cyanogen, S-OFF, custom MTD partition, Firerat's a2sd, with launcher pro plus and quickdesk.
No more homescreen reloads!
But I must say this is the best configuration I've used thus far! Love the Cyanogen features compared to the more simple LeeDroid feature list and I can configure launcher pro to work the same as Sense but better. also have a lot more space for apps as well.
For those who dont know what quickdesk is TRY IT. IT IS AWESOME. Works swimmingly with any homescreen launcher.
Hmm, might give it a try then!
Is that Cyanogen or DeFroST?#
Cheers.

Cyanogen. I don't see anything in the features list in DeFroST that Cyanogen doesn't already have.

Market Application Keeps Force Closing

Like the title says, my market application keeps force closing on me. I was on Cyanogenmod 6.1.1, tried a Desire Z sense ROM and decided to restore my CM 6.1.1 back up. Now my market keeps force closing and downloads wont start. Any help on how to fix this?

What version of market r u using?? The latest??
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
Did you wipe the ROM/cache before flashing ? You should always do so if you're switching between different ROM types.
I was using the latest market with the Sense ROM. Went back to the old one on CM, should I just try flashing the latest one and see what happens?
I didn't wipe before flashing back to CM on my restore (for whatever dumb reason). Guess I'll give both of those a shot, thanks
EDIT: Everything seems to be working now, just had to wipe, wanted to avoid doing that but guess not. Thanks for the advice guys

ok, will try, thank you for now.
Didn't get FC's when you said - try to backup the data then full wipe - data/cache/sd-ext/dalvik cache and re-flash.
Sounds like updated version of market/calendar/sense launcher is causing the trouble.
also try the above mentioned aligning before re-flashing.
did all mentioned above, but decided to go for cyanogen, for now.
thank you all for help.
dik moc.
When I first installed InsertCoin ROM, my People's process kept force closing. Not sure if this is related. And when starting for the first time, quite some number of processes force closed. So what I did was, I installed ROM manager and clicked fix permissions. And restarted the phone, this made everything stable no more force closes.
However!! The people's process still force closes if I access individual contacts information. Because of this, I avoided accessing people's contacts directly. I used workarounds such as using the HTC dialer to filter out names to obtain numbers. I had no problems creating new contacts so I got used to this issue.
My friend asked me to factory reset through settings. I was confused how this will work since I thought that the people's process force closes because of an issue in the ROM (maybe a bug). I was wrong, after factory reset to default, this issue was resolved.
Now Insert Coin Rom is perfect for me. The only thing that does not work correctly is my hibernate. I am having a discussion on that now to obtain more information.
Hmm interesting.will give IC another go. I didnt have any problems you are having. But thank you.

wipe all data user
i dont have problem with this rom
W'ats? I have been using 1.0.8 since the day it was released and I have no problems at all.
I just did full wipe and flashed it...t'at is all..
I'm also using IC 1.0.8 (CM7r2, since it seemed considerably faster) - So far I've had no issues at all, loving it.
Phil
Been using InsertCoin CM7 1.0.8, with cm7r2 hboot for a few days and everything seems fine
Not sure if it's gingerbread, new htc sense or InsertCoin, or all of them but loving the new rom! (only thing that bugs me is that I prefer the old htc weather animations...)
do you wipe all your phone?
i've no problem with ic
yep, i wiped my phone - data/factory reset, cache, dalvik cache.
though i sort of take back what I said... having minor problems - no FC, or infinite loadings, but i see my SIM contacts when I hit phone/dialer, even though they have been hidden in the people app. I believe this is causing a second issue with messages being unable to find the right facebook/google avatar.
but other than that, seems to be working fine

Reflash the ROM. A few apps do force close, it kinda happened with me too. Flash the ROM on stock kernel.

Him don't change Flashlight button to get Flash-Brightness
You need to flash a stock ROM and stock kernel first. Then install this ROM.

[Q] Text message widget keep crashing.

Hey all.
I've encountered a very annoying problem, for some reason my text widget starts to crash. Scrolling down to the bottom there would be a "view more coversation" option but it opens a new text window instead, and if I try to quit it, it crashes the launcher. "Unfortunately, Launcher has stopped". This never happened to me before after I reflashed the stock image.
I was using stock rom and stock kernel all the time. and everything is the same after I flashed the factory image. I did recover a lot of texts. (Around 4000). But this I've recovered more before I flashed the image and there was no problem.
I've been able to find someone having the exact problem but using the LTE Verizon variant. Mine is GSM Yakuju.

Does anyone know how to fix this? I tried wiping everything, reflash everything and it just doesn't seem to work. This never happened when I updated to 4.1.1 the first time. This is confuse the hell out of me.
