Slow mobile data after a while... - Galaxy Note II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

As like the slow wifi bug (wifi speeds slows down after some hours in sleep mode) I get it on the mobile data. I have the 3g model.
I got full reception with h+ and still under 0.5mbit... When I put the phone in offline mode and then back, I get full h+ speeds again.
Anyone else got this? Is it related to the wifi bug in some way?

I just switch off then on again mobile data.

You have the same problem? Only after sleep mode right.

Never noticed usually after bad signal areas?

I get this problem. I have H+ with 1Mb/s download speed then it'll just die out of nowhere and have to turn mobile data off and on again. It's a pain if I'm trying to download a big file or watch Netflix/YouTube.
I found its not as frequent with an AOSP rom, but I prefer Samsung roms.

Hmm... Did you change the modem/radio firmware when you tried aosp rom? Could the problem lie there? It has to be the phone...

I have tried DME6, DMF1 and DMG1. Do the sam rules apply for modem changes with the AOSP roms, where the EFS has changed and doesn't allow older modems to be used??

Browser(s) won't load website

Any idea what may have happened to my browsers using mobile data?
Specifically www.mautofied.com isn't working on T-Mobile. I turn my wifi on and its working fine.
Both stock browser and chrome will not load that specific website. Other sites are not affected.
I have tried a cache wipe.
Could it be T-Mobile error?

Working fine for me also,I'm using ics browser +
Are you being throttled? I'm being throttled and i'm getting speeds to the point where sites almost always time out. Also, try toggling your mobile data connection. Sometimes, my phone says connected to a network when it isn't and sites don't load but never say no internet connection.

Try restoring with Odin to stock unrooted or flash a ROM to see if that works it might be some corrupt files or your WiFi radio just decided to go bad

I will try that only thing I did was root the device and installed twrp recovery .

Cm10.1 data switching issue

When I turn on my data it switches between 3g and 4g and I can't even figure it out
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
That is how it is supposed to work, nothing to figure out.
My gfs phones never switches or anything my phones does all the time
Sent from my SGH-T999 using xda app-developers app
What is she on and it never switches to what? If she hasn't updated her modem it will stay on 3g all the time. It is like this on every AOSP rom for our phone. Unless there is a theme that edits it out.
If speedtest says it's fine, it's fine.
It just switches from 4g to 3g all the time but I guess I'll have to live with it

Sprint connection optimizer

I deleted the sprint connection optimizer from my phone and am now getting download speeds of about 1Mbps whereas before I was getting 150-200Kbps. It might just be me but worth trying out if you are rooted.

And unlocked. You can't remove apps unless unlocked. Or you end up in a boot loop.

I always remove it first thing on any ROM. Even on my GS3. It took up so much battery by itself by turning my wifi on and off and messing with my data.
So once rooted and bootloader unlocked would I just go to system/app and delete what? Is it the WiFiOffLoad.apk and the WiFiOffLoad.odex? Thanks

Has anyone tried it with a locked boot loader? I know removing Google and LG stuff causes Security error on boot, but I have frozen sprint apps no problem

Is there any merit to this? How is deleting C.O. making your download speeds faster?
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Whether or not this works for anyone else or why it works for me is unknown. All I know is that before and after the deletion my download speeds increased. Whether or not it coincided with a network improvement that is causing my speed increase I don't know.
I have compared my results with a friend with the same phone but is completely stock and my download speeds are significantly more than his.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
Well it doesn't hurt to try. I'll check if it does anything to my speeds and report back.
Sent from my LG-LS970 using xda premium
I'm not sure if it's a fluke but it does seem that I am getting better download speeds. Top 2 scores are with C.O. uninstalled and bottom 2 are with C.O. Installed. Maybe you are onto something. I'll perform more tests later on since there isn't sufficient data to prove this yet.
Edit: Before I tested with/without C.O, I updated the PRL. Both internal/external IPs were different. No speed changes were seen without updating PRL with/without C.O. I doubt removing C.O does anything to increase speeds.

If anything the connection optimizer is annoying and deleting it does clear up some resources.

Sprint zone GPS usage?

Does anyone know how to stop it from using gpa signals? It's using it in almost 20 minutes cycle and it also drains battery. How do you make it stop?

That's what I figured you did, just that mind never showed up there. Also I froze it and still get lots of GPS ping. In thinking it's the Google location setting.
