[Q] Looking for a de-bloated ROM - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S 4

Hey enthusiasts,
just got the t-mo S4 and hate how the thing is full of preloaded junk. i have been using a CM10 S3 up until now, but upgraded to S4.
Is there a ROM that would still allow WiFi-Calling? I just have all that t-mo crap thats on there.
Please direct me if you can
Thanks
Or is there a way to remove all that crap with-out rooting and installing a rom?

You could root and remove the bloat yourself. Its located in /system/app. Oh and no you need root.

Yes you can still keep WiFi calling. Unlike before the Wi-Fi calling is now built into the framework. Either root and delete bloatware or flash a tmobile base ROM to retain WiFi calling.

I doubt the bloatware is whats allowing the wifi calling.

Wicked rom is fully debloated and still has wifi calling. Great ROM! Has aroma installer so you can add bloat as you see fit or easily theme without wiping.

Root and titanium backup pro would do this also. Or, flash the debloater file that's floating around here which hits most of it, then hit the rest of it manually.

Yeah, Wicked v5.1 is awesome. I have the same requirement (keeping wifi calling), or I'd be on either one of the GE ROMS or CM10.x, but Wicked is a great replacement.
Make sure to get the Xposed Framework with the Wanam Xposed mods. Those work well with Wicked and allow you to do stuff like disable that annoying volume warning.

How can i remove bloat from a rom?

i got a rooted rom that i'm going to install. but i want to know some things i can do:
1 - how i can remove the bloat?
2 - what bloat is safe to remove?
3 - are there risks to removing some bloat that the system might need?
heres the link thats got the rom i want to mod:

After you flash the ROM, install titanium backup. You can remove bloatware with that app. Anything T-Mobile you can remove.
They call me "Jelly" cuz jam don't shake like this!
Don't you prefer to install custom rom? Many custom roms have bloat already removed. I recommend FrostyJB, very stable, most of bloat removed, long battery life.

I wasn't using any ics based roms so nothing from my personal experience. I know that there was Frosty based on ics, I saw it somewhere. If it is as good as his jb based then you should be happy with it. I recommend going to development forum and checking the most popular roms, you should find something interesting. Sorry for not providing much help in that matter. I just don't have much experience with sgs3 ics based roms.
Good luck

That has no bloat, but also you lose Samsung exclusive (tw based) futures like motion or smart stay, and it may have more bugs. But this is very good option for some. I'm running right now one of cm10 based ROMs and I love completely bloat free experience. Battery life is incredible. But I miss smart stay and few motion gestures.

Root & install SU + BusyBox.
Install terminal emulator from the market.
Fire up the emulator & go to town on APKs in /system/app.
For the APKs you find annoying & not spelled to your preference....or you simply wanna claim a Fatah on, delete.
Win.

Question regarding infamous rom

Flashed the rom today with my metro s4 aka tmobile s4....is 3minit and or xposed supported on my device with this rom or just ATT still?
Sent from my SGH-M919 using xda premium
It's "unofficially" supported, it should work, but in my experience Xposed hasn't really worked on mine at all. Maybe I'm doing something wrong. 3minit works on Infamous, considering he includes it in the title of his post

Using Infamous ROM, they both work. 3minit works flawlessly but with Xposed, only certain mods like sounds, and hide certain notifications work. Don't try to change the battery mods, cos it'll crash your system Ui. Do that with 3minit
Hit that Thanks Button
As long as you are running infamous rom, it should work regardless of your provided...only as long as you can successfully boot infamous.
hows metro service with the t-mobiel s4 btw?
The xposed installer gives me the option to install the framework... Will this overwrite the 3minit framework?
I no longer pick up any metro tower since they run on coma...i use gsm now and only get tmobile coverage...kinda sucks, i no longer get 4g at my house but I get it at work now lol

seems like a good rom, will give it a try! few questions
1)is all the bloatware from at&t removed? the at&t contacts, navigation and all?
2)do all smart features like smart stay and wifi sharing work?
3)stock camera included? camera was one of the issues in cm10.1.2

1. Yes. He recently debloated his rom to 342 mb so it's extremely light.
2. Not sure since I never use those features. If not, the dev, Dan, will assist you in reactivating those features right away.
3. Yes, stock camera.

Great ROM for those that want a neat & clean package. Developer is always willing to help.
If there is a request for a specific item, he adds it as an optional install.

Ohh ok. Im actually using the Wanam module in xposed and it has that setting. Thanks

I have not tried xposed. Not sure it works on original rom
Yea works awesome. You just have to be rooted. Im running stock rooted too. Most xposed modules and framework really are geared towards stock rom. Try it you will be amazed at all the features Wanam module has. Its the only one you will need. Let me know if you need help with it if you decide to try it.

That would depend on what is Sacs rom and what do you really want out of your phone. There are a number of great roms. you just have to choose the one you like,

This is the first Android phone that I have had where I actually have no desire to flash any custom ROMs. That's how great this phone is (and how not crappy Touchwiz is). I mean, Touchwiz isn't the greatest, and it is full of bloat, but it doesn't get in the way at all. Also, i've used Xposed Framework to add some of the tweaks that I normally like from some other ROMs.
So even if your favorite ROM isn't available yet for the Note 3, I would still say it's never a bad time to make the jump. It's a great phone no matter if it's ROM'd or stock.
Sacs custom ROM has many visual and software features keeps touchwiz but removes crappy apps like s health but still keeps some I use like group play and stock notification except allowing the change of colors notification icon colors but also allows me to choose between different launchers at install without meshing them all together ( I like KitKat) comes with a custom kernel but I can flash another, oh and comes with a lot of small adjustments like hotspot tweak (unlimited) and more but basically I'm looking for those 3 main things in a ROM
Touchwiz with less crap
KitKat launcher
And hotspot tweak
