Since the majority of the Nexus7 (Razor) owners want to order the Premium Cover for Nexus 7 I thought I would created this thread for it. Please contribute any pre-order eStore links to this thread. Thank you!

For those following my conversation with ASUS about the Premium cover, I just received a new response:
Generally we do not like to quote release dates because there is always a chance for product release delays. But it will be available soon. Thank you for your continued patience.

All in all, not very helpful. I would say to estimate the date as being around the 3rd of September since that's what Gamestop has listed. Until we find another store that lists a date, we won't have a better way to find an approximate eta.

I know its not out yet, but does this have auto-wake? I really don't like the idea of spending $39 on a case, but if its perfect (and that means it would need auto-wake) then its justified.

I don't think any of the OEM case will include the auto-awake function as Apple already has the patent on smart cover (correct me if I am wrong).
I am in for one anyways. I like that only minimal thickness/bulk is added to the tablet.
Yeah you may be right, but you'd think a 3rd party would be able to replicate this case/cover and include this feature. Without autowake I think I'll wait.

Get the Moko: http://www.amazon.com/MoKo-Google-New-Nexus-Case/dp/B00CKA1IYU
Thanks for this thread! The Premium Cover is the case I want as well! I don't think it has the auto sleep/wake feature, unfortunately. Definitely not paying $40 for it either! I assume there will be other retailers offering this case for around $30. Still costly, especially if it doesn't have auto sleep/wake, but I'll buy a cheap generic case for that feature. I'm really looking forward to the fit/finish of the OEM case, and having "ASUS" embossed on it is a nice touch!! I considered the Travel Cover, but it appears a little too loose (at least in the videos I've seen, haven't seen it in person) for my personal taste/wants. Oh that white cover is calling my name!!!!
EDIT : Depending on how the case is constructed, adding a magnet to get the auto sleep/wake to function could be a very possible solution! Just depends on the case's construction though, how invasive adding the magnet will be, and if it will be noticeable once finished....

Instead of buying those magnets, you may be better off buying the cheapest case on amazon that has this feature (I've seen a bunch for $5 with prime, no need to get this years model cover. Last years nexus 7 will do) and rip it apart to get the magnet out.
I worry about how strong those rare earth magnets are.

Are the materials used on this case really that much better to justify paying like 8 times as much as a poetic/moko?

It's very personal. For me, thickness and OEM are very important.

I believe more people go with the Moko one.
Gamestop order
For whatever it's worth, I was notified by Gamestop that my order for a white premium cover had a shipping label created this evening. In theory, it should arrive in roughly a week. I had also pre-ordered a black cover but that still shows as out of stock and the order is open.

I received my official Asus travel case yesterday and I love it. Not sure why people see complaining about it.
Yes it's flimsy, but only slightly.
I like the TPU material, as it is good for shock absorption and doesn't have metal magnets exposed that could possibly scratch the screen like the moko and poetic ones.

I like that it covers the bezel 360 degrees, since the bezel is cheap plastic and very prone to scratches, such as the picture below which was out of the box
I just miss the auto wake function, but I'm thinking about superglue-ing a magnet on the front to fix that

It's TPU? I was under the impression it was a silicone case due to how "flimsy" it was being described as.

Thats the same case as they used on the 1st one isn't it, I had the 1st travel case and it was trash, the front cover was poor, wouldn't sit closed fully, if you opened it would try bounce back, its not a gel case, its a bit more solid, but for me it was the worse n7 case I had

I received my case yesterday and based on the reviews I saw, I was expecting the worst. Now that I've had it on my nexus 7, I love the case. Is it a little flimsy? Sure, but for me, I didn't buy it to be my everyday case. One thing I noticed is when my screen is on with the flap closed, the light does not shine through like the reviews said. It could be because I have the dark gray case.

This one actually kind of suctions on and stays put. I assume it's from the vacuum that is created with all the rubber seals
I also like how the cover doesn't actually sit on the screen, so if something gets stuck on the inner surface or screen, it won't scratch it

I just received this case yesterday (dark grey) and I'm finding it very flimsy and doesn't seem to hug the tablet enough. Its very rubbery/pliable so it doesn't hold its shape well....translating to sagging edges and just an overall floppy feel to it.
I'm traveling this weekend and thought "hey...its says travel case, I'll give it a go while I travel", now I'm not so sure I want to see how it stands up to the wears and tears of going through airports.
I really hope ballistic comes out with something for it...I have a ballistic case for my xoom and its solid as a rock...could chuck that thing down some stairs and it would be fine.

Sent from my SPH-L720 using Tapatalk HD
I'm tempted to get one since I need something for an upcoming trip and the Moko case won't ship in time, but one thing that I find puzzling is that there's only one dark color for this travel case with the rest being bright. I don't know if it's just me, but when I'm traveling I want to have my devices be as less conspicuous as possible to someone else's eyes. At least with a phone you can pocket it and keep it out of view. I'm looking at this from a pure marketing standpoint. Why not a brown, navy or hunter green unit.. or even a dark maroon? I can see wanting to have something eye catching when you're at home and need something easy to spot in a cluttered work area, but not for traveling.

If someone can find a link or such to the detailed dimensions of the N7, I'll totally make a 3D-Printed case/Stand/Car mount set.

Although nothing is shipping out yet, there are some things below on amazon.
Poetic Graphgrip Nexus 7 2013 Case
Poetic Revolution Nexus 7 2013 Case
KAYSCASE Nexus 7 2013 Case
CruzerLite Nexus 7 2013
I can't post links yet, but if you go to Amazon, and use the following search queues, the cases should come up.
The first one is a jelly silicon.
The second is a TPU.
The third and fourth are snap-ons with thin profiles.
I hope this helps

I emailed Gumdrop about a Droptech and they replied "Unfortunately, at this time we are not planning to make a case for this particular device. Please check back on our website in the near future for any new updates!"

How much would you be willing to spend cuz CF is not cheap. with the limited group that would buy the cases would be a minimum of $60. While it would be nice, id be just as concerned of the CF resin getting scratched as i would the device itself.

Hey everyone I recently received my SupCase Slim Fit Folio case and am pretty impressed. It isn't like super high quality leather but for the price it's pretty much what you would expect. I have the one with the elastic hand strap on the back and also the stylus holder. I really like being able to use the Nexus 7 in bed when laying down, which is where I spend most of my time using the tablet.
The folio features work as advertised and is pretty sturdy. It really is the generic folio we see for every tablet, but that's not a bad thing because everything seems works pretty well. You can actually buy this without the hand strap or with a hand strap and free stylus holder.
Keep in mind though, anyone using the LMT Launcher or something similar may not be able to use it with the case on because the edges of the case go onto the bezels. Also, just so you guys know, I did receive this product from SupCase prior to the release date since I review these products on YouTube.
If you have any questions just let me know!

I bought this case via Amazon for a ridiculously cheap $6. It's now $13 so I just got lucky. The Supcase is really nice. Has a high quality look and feel, fits tight and elegantly, and works perfectly. The magnetic auto on off is very quick and flawless. I haven't tested it with wireless charging but instructions said it won't work while device is inside the case. I really like this case nevertheless!

http://www.ebay.com/itm/390773817902?ssPageName=STRK:MEWAX:IT&_trksid=p3984.m1423.l2649
Shipped in a few days from NJ to NY. Happy that it can slide in the holster with the screen in and out. Wasnt a big fan of holsters at first but I like that the belt clip doubles as a stand and put it in front of my monitor at work.
Using the slim armor with the holster from a fosmon case for the n5. Snug fit and not 100% perfect but it won't fall out by itself.

I have the Spigen Ultra Hybrid and Neo Hybrid. Both fit snug, maybe 99% with the Neo and 99.5% with the Ultra Hybrid in the Seidio Dilex Holster for the Nexus 5. Not a holster case, but it basically catches the bottom corners and latches the top portion of the phone/case. The Neo Hybrid needs a a bit more coercing when inserting the case in the holster. But it works.

I wanted an otter box like case, but they're all too busy and ugly that I've seen. To me anyway. So I went to a mall and found this at a kiosk. No where near the otter box protection, but I'll have to be more careful.
This case looked funny with the ribs....but once I put my phone it it I loved it. Love the cut out for the nexus label. Its not bulky. Kinda square, but I don't mind. And its snug in the holster.
Looks just like the one posted above, except this one has the cut out for the nexus logo.
I'll take a pic of the back with the phone in when I get a chance.
Not a lot of protection really, but nice looking and one of the few holsters for the N5.

Its got really square sides. Some may be to used to curved edges. Bit really the phone is fairly square as is. This has ribs is all. Definitely not bulky. Less protection too of course.
Pics when I can.

holster with belt clip is ok but the real holder is one with belt loop - you can get them cheap in any places selling accesories. Or on ebay:

I have a mime ghost glass screen protector on its way too. From what I've read and seen, it should be fine with this case. I'll report back when I get it...it'll be like 2 weeks tho, the one for the wife's Moto x was 2 weeks.

The wife uses the x now, but what she's said and from what I've felt, its pretty much like using the naked screen. Not sticky at all like most the plastic ones I've felt. I've went without a screen protector for a few years. Like the idea of the glass one tho.

So what's the difference between regular and glass screen protectors ?
Sent from my Nexus 5 using Tapatalk
Glass is like the phone itself. But careful finding a good case to play nice with it. If you have a bunch of cases already, you should be ok. I had Sir Lancealot Holy Grail protector and was the best feeling one out there. One bad thing is they are fingerprint magnets.
For my N5, I use the Spigen screen protectors and comparing that with the glass, it's really not much difference IMO.

So I got my mime ghost glass today....fits perfectly and this case doesn't interfere. The glass just misses the side edges of the case, which is good cause the case fits tightly.
Guess it's true about the dimple to the right of the notification led. Left a quarter inch round bubble. Used a thin cloth and an adjustable wrench to clamp over the bubble and it was gone after 20 minutes.
Quite happy with my setup now.

I am assuming this belt clip case would fit for a phone with LG bumper case?
Any recommendations for a 'vertical' belt clip holster that can hold a N5 with 'LG bumper case'?
thanks!
Hi all, just came across this video for the Orzly OnePlus Two fusion bumper case. By far one of the cases I've been waiting to see, glad they've finally got a video up of it. I had one for the OnePlus One and liked that you could still see the back but was well protected around the edges and back with the crystal.
Anyone else going to be getting this case for their OP2?
i ordered but still not arrived after 2 weeks (

Yeah I did, had to email 3 times now. I think they are sending another one
To everybody ordering from Amazon UK, my case took 16 days from time of ordering to arrive. I sent an email to G Hub and to be fair, I did get a response after a few hours.
They offered to send me another one out as they reckon the first was lost in the post, so I agreed. They said they would send it signed for (to ensure delivery) on 28/08/15 and it only just arrived yesterday (05/09/2015.) It wasn't signed for, and it arrived with a 24 hour postage stamp on meaning that they only got around to sending it out on 04/09.
Very disappointed with it to be honest, the packaging was tatty and unsealed and the fit of the case was subpar. It was loose around the edges of my OnePlus 2 and it made the volume rocker a real challenge to use.
I would not recommend buying a Fusion Bumper case, but if you must do, then do do not order from G Hub.

Tempted to get one myself. I wonder the added bulk of the styleswap back cover would fit into this case?

Here's an update on my order/case/situation (whatever you wanna call it.)
Another Fusion Bumper case turned up today from G Hub (I assume this is the second one that they sent out after the first being "lost in post") and the fit is actually a lot better than the first one I received. The packaging is also tidy and neat this time round.
Overall, I'm much happier than I was before. I still wouldn't recommend ordering from G Hub though as their delivery times are insane.

The fit is absolutely fine with my rosewood and black apricot backs. I think they've designed the case to be used with the thicker, wooden backs to be honest.
I'll see how it fits with my sandstone back on later because it feels just right with a wooden back on, so I assume it may feel a little loose with the thinner swapstyle cover on. I could be wrong though.

No problem mate. Friend of mine has the kevlar back on his 1+2 and he has this case (his arrived yesterday) and he told me that it fits really well. I'll see for myself on Friday evening when I next see him, but I trust his judgement so I'm sure you'll be fine.

Hmm which one would you have preferred to have. I have the open button on but I feel like the closed one will proved a little more protection of the frame which is the main part I want to protect

There's no close button version of the Orzly Fusion Bumper case. U might want to take a look at Rearth Ringke fusion if that's the case

http://orzly.com/manufacturers/oneplus/oneplus-2/fusion-bumper-case-for-oneplus-two-black.html on there website it looks like this, but I will try the ringke fusion
The fusion case are great accessory to have and the new version have scratch resistant coating, to users who have been using it how is coating is it really protecting you against scratches or it is stll a scratch magnet like the older ones would love to know
Also in India unfortunately very few colors available however black and transparent are not on Amazon India
I just ordered the red one from amazon.in, I am concerned about the cover's back getting scratches. Any existing user can comment ?
Sent from my ONE A2003 using Tapatalk
It does scratches and I'm pretty certain all other cases with a transparent back will scratch too. But the scratches in the Orzly Fusion Bumper case is less visible. I'm using it right now.
Sent from my ONE A2001 using XDA Free mobile app
Hi it does scratch do it may not be scratch magnet as the previous version but please note all tpu or transparent case even hard plastic will scratch the hight quality ones will have scratch more visible because the tranasparency ration is pretty high, however they are great cases and anyways you not going to use them forever just go ahead and buy them
