Has anyone seen any hard shell cases yet? I have looked around some have seen a few for the 1st gen nexus but none for the 2nd gen.

If someone can find a link or such to the detailed dimensions of the N7, I'll totally make a 3D-Printed case/Stand/Car mount set.
I'm more than capable of modeling these things, I just don't have a clue how to measure the chamfer and fillets of the tablet.

I am hoping fro a back hard shell from Incipio. Already have an email out to them to see if they have any plans.
I posted on the OtterBox fb page and they said "We don't have plans for that device right now, but we'll certainly keep you posted on any changes!"
I emailed Gumdrop about a Droptech and they replied "Unfortunately, at this time we are not planning to make a case for this particular device. Please check back on our website in the near future for any new updates!"
I would like to see the case mate tough make it to the n7. I have the case on my note 2 and really like it.

How much would you be willing to spend cuz CF is not cheap. with the limited group that would buy the cases would be a minimum of $60. While it would be nice, id be just as concerned of the CF resin getting scratched as i would the device itself.

Im gonna have to pass. I made the mistake of buying the Slimline for my OG N7 and it was terrible. Left marks on the screen and practically fell apart. And I hardly even used the flippin case. Only put it on when I was traveling about. I had it for about 5 months, and by the 4rth month it was already fraying at the edges.
I had the same problems with the slim case. I have had the revolution for my nexus 7 for a long time and it's in Greddy shape.
BTW the new case is on amazon now for $20

FYI, Amazon Just Dropped the Price on this Cae Its now Only $14.99 Free Shipping! , BTW I pre-Ordered Both The Revolution and the Slimline, heck for $20 shipped on both, its bang for buck, I've had Poetic in the past, Quality is not the best but not the worst either;for me it's enough; I'm really careful with my devices I'll bet they'll last me!

As far as the cases go I really, really like the one that I have for my nexus 7. I was looking for a defender case but I wasn't about to spend $70 on one. I haven't really been happy with defender cases lately anyways. After buying one for my note 2 I'll never buy one again.
The revolution case is defender like, can be had for less than half the cost and the button press is easy and it feels good in hand. I bought one of the first runs and it had the blurry screen protector. I contacted poetic and they sent me two replacements..... It took a month or so to get them made amnd to me but they made good. While I was waiting I just knocked the one out and installed a stock on one on the screen.
Anyways ever since I got the new front its been on, clear and nice and I don't think twice about letting my toddler use the tablet.

Awesome. I just checked my shipment and it looks like it was just shipped 12 hours ago even tho I got a email from amazon saying it shipped before that. Kinda bummed, I've been waiting a long time for this case. I've actually been using my old nexus 7 all the time just because I like the way it feels in my hand with the case on.

Ordered one of these myself. Looked very decent. Been looking for something that has decent protection as my kids broke the screen on my first generation that I'm still trying to figure out what to do with. Estimated delivery date is Monday, however I'm doubtful as the tracking days it's been in San Francisco since the 19th.

Is anybody else's screen protector very cloudy? Mine is cloudy and has specs that kind of look like a screen protector placed on a dirty screen. This is the screen protector however, and not the screen being dirty.

Make sure you removed the plastic protector film on the outside as well as the inside of the built in screen protector.

Much better thank you. It was the inside cover that I didn't know was there. There is some distortion, giving a rainbow like look, but that's something I expect I guess from a screen protector that is not adhesively bonded.

That rainbow effect never goes away either. My original nex7 case still has it. It's not bad once the screen turns on.
This case is way better than the original case. only thing I don't like is the horizontal stand, it leans back farther than the original nexus 7 case.

I went to best buy to exchanged my Sammy tab 3 for this. Love pure Google aosp. I was very disappointed best buy doesn't have cover cases for it yet. Never owned first generation nexus.
Now here the question after searching on eBay and amazon.
The nexus 7 2, will it able to fit right into first generation case? I don't want to buy first generation case online that doesn't fit 2 gen device. Will this do?

For an offical case it's not pricey. Take the flip cover for the note 8. It's 50 dollars. Every offical case out there is double what the aftermarket ones are. If not more. I'm buying because it's the offical case so I'm already expecting a premium.

I just found out this case doesn't support auto wake/sleep feature
I mean come on Asus!!! for a $40 case you couldn't add a piece of magnet!!!
This case and the travel case are both just big fails. Although I don't mind getting ripped off on OIM cases but at least I want to get a "premium" case.

They dont have the patent on that feature, therefore they can not use it without a hefty lawsuit from apple

watch out for taobao. in some places the'leather' is referred to as PU leather. even so that one case that is kind of a knockoff on the noreve looks pretty close to a real buck/suede finish

Looks very nice. Extremely so. But note that this shop has not yet have any reviews...
Looks pretty nice, and I'm sure others will like it as much as you. Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't want "Vintage" on the front of it. I just have no desire to make my N7 FHD, or its case, look like an antique book, diary, or whatever it's supposed to emulate by having that stamped on the front...

Indeed. Not many aegis case reviews, and no nexus aegis reviews at all.
My previous Aegis Case for the Galaxy Nexus was amazing, gonna get this one for the Nexus 5 but I want to wait & see if I can get it for around $20 on Ebay like the last one. $35 kinda steep for a case in my opinion.
This is a damn good looking case. Not too disappointed anymore that Otterbox isn't supporting the Nexus 5.

So, with using Trident Case in the past I thought I would go and be one of the first "testers" of the case if you want to call it that lol. The case is great and all but I will be asking for an exchange for another one because one of the problems was that the case wasn't lining up with the speaker & microphone grill. The other noted part would be the top of the phone, the first part of the case & the second part do not settle (no other words to describe, refer to pictures) & that bothers me so that's my other reason for getting a replacement.
Side Note: When I got it, the box was all beat up like it's been crushed. Not sure if Trident is at fault or USPS.
