You need a good car charger then. I spent like $45 on mine, has a "high output"

They can be charged either way, though they will charge fastest when you plug the charger into the wall and put the battery directly into it. This is probably also best for the battery life in the long run.

Any updates about the quality of the battery? I just ordered one off amazon myself, hahaha. My current battery lasts 4 hours if I'm lucky on any rom, so I figured it was time for a new one.

Good call! :good:

I sure hope it's good, I bought a set on amazon and I'm going to start using it tomorrow. I've noticed a drop in my oem battery life, so thought I'd give these a try.

I have those batteries and ordered them thru amazon..They work great!! but you get better charging with the charger that comes with it that connect to the wall socket. after you see the blue light..leave it for 15 more mins..as it get better charge!! They're just about the same as the stock batts..No NFC also.

Does the 2200 battery fit with the stock cover plate?.. I have the S3 and my wife has the S2 so I dont much about the S2 phone.

I have these batteries and yes, they fit the stock backplate. I give them 4/5 for stock replacement just because no NFC. Actual charge capacity is great for the stock size.

Anyone use an external battery charger so you can charge your extra battery?
If so, which one do you use? I'm currently looking to buy an OEM HTC battery, but I want to charge it without putting it in my phone and charging it that way.
Thanks in advance!

I have that one and for the most part it works pretty well.
It also has a USB out so you can, in theory, charge a battery in the charger AND use the USB to charge your phone. The phone's touch screen doesn't work if you do that, however, so the USB port on it is a bit dodgy.

I've been using this for months, and had the same unit for my previous Nexus One as well. Amazing price, and works perfectly, although it took about 30 days to ship from Hong Kong.
It's great to always have 3 fully-charged batteries on deck and ready to go when I'm low on juice. Battery life is no longer a concern for me, as it takes seconds to swap them out and throw the drained one back on the charger.
Highly recommended.

Ya I've been using this too, and other than the super long shipping i'm perfectly happy with it. So convenient
Random question but do you guys know if this is the same charger as the one for the HD2? I have two stand alone HD2 battery chargers at home. I was going to pull the trigger and get this, but it looks pretty darn similar to the HD2 charger.
Its the same one. My gf has an hd2 and I can use hers with no problem.

Thanks, as I'd personally like to see how the battery performs. I have heard of people purchasing larger batteries and have actually received worse results than the stock battery offers, which is rather odd in my opinion. But, from what I have read, Anker produce some quality products so I have high hopes for this battery. I'd ideally like an even larger battery, but then the added weight becomes ridiculous or pricing becomes too much for me to afford.
I've had Anker batteries for other devices and they've been ace, not got round to ordering one for the Note myself yet, but I will do.

Shame that they don't do a slightly larger battery. What is a nice sized battery for the Galaxy Note with regards to battery life, portability/weight factors and recharge time?

I don't trust about other internal battery. I use external battery in other case. While my life battery is 20 hours in 3g.
I have the Mugen 5400 battery and I truly cannot fault it. More than double the capacity of stock and it shows in my daily usage. Build quality also to notch. Yes their prices are steep but you get what you pay for and their customer service is excellent.

I bought 2 for a total of $16 and they work great. I also bought a 3 dollar charger (800mah) that charges them in a about six hours. The ankers charge fine inthe phone an have all the attributes of the oem battery
I've been using Anker batteries for about 3 weeks now and they work great. They last just slightly longer than the stock battery and charge efficiently. I would recommend them to people that are always on the go and can't always get a place to charge their phones. I charge one battery by itself and one in the phone at night, and the next day I am able to swap when the first battery drains. Also there's a peace of mind with having a fully-charged battery always available.

Hi everybody,
I have been searching for this Anker battery on German Amazon, and I have found out that there is a 2800mah Anker battery for this phone. Stock size.
You can see the link here
It's not much more expensive, and if it really was a 2800mah battery than it would be great.
Does anyone know anything about it? Do you think it's just a 2700mah one with a fake sticker on it?
Let me know your thoughts.
I got the 2700mAH battery from Amazon. So far it has been slightly better capacity than the original and no problems. Good value at £7.99.

I don't see why the cheap eBay ones (~$5) wouldn't work with an extended battery. (The cutout/space for the battery is the same size/shape as the one in the back of the phone)
But, it's only a couple of bucks more to get a charger with 1 or 2 (regular-size) batteries... might as well get a couple of spares?

I've been using mine for 6+ months, with no ill effects. (On both my Epic 4G and Epic 4G Touch - it's awesome that my backup phone uses the same size battery!)
Bought my cheap eBay charger for ~$10 with a "2200mAh" battery - I haven't noticed any longer life than my 1800mAh original. (It's probably that same "Chinese math" that gives us 4000W car audio amplifiers for $39.)
I have noticed that both batteries don't seem to be fully charged by this external charger - they show 100% when installed in my phone, but neither lasts quite as long compared to if they were charged in the phone. But, this is a small price to pay for having a (mostly) charged battery, ready to go at all times.
UPDATE: I bought some of the "Anker" brand batteries suggested in this thread, and they last a lot longer than the $4 ebay ones I was using previously. $20 for 2 good batteries + universal charger (Amazon) was worth it.

I've purchased several non-OEM batteries (and chargers) from cheap Chinese sellers, and had zero problems. The only battery I've ever had fail was the original Samsung battery in my Epic 4G. (It's slightly "puffed", and doesn't hold much of a charge anymore.)

How long does it take for your charger to charge the 7000 battery? Im curious about limitbreak charger as well. Thats the most important thing I need to know. I might just have to buy 2 7000mah batteries, let one charge the day before use and I will be good for a whole week, lol.

Its more convenient to have 2 ZL, using the first one while charging the other one, then swap. I have 2 chargers, the 300 mah and 450 mah, but both takes 24 hours to charge anyways so doesnt matter.
If you only have 1 ZL, the advice i can give you is just go back to stock while youre charging the ZL.

I agree, 2 ZL's are the way to go. Fortunately for me, I do not have a case yet, or anything....everything is all stock. I was thinking of going with the otterbox case and modding it to fit the ZL battery. I just discovered that ZL said that they will make a "rugged" external case like the otterbox but it will probably be in June some time.
Either way, I have DECISIONS, lol. But can you point me to the link for the 450 external charger? 24 hours to charge wouldnt hurt at all (if one has 2 ZL batteries)

And as for the 450 charger, I actually got that charger when I bought the 2 slim 2200 anker batteries from amazon, i think it was $19.99 the charger and 2 batteries. But remember, that charger doesnt have the thing you hook up on the wall socket, its a usb charger, but i bought this litte thing so i can plug it in on the wall, heres the pic of what im talkin about.

Just to add my 2 bits, I seem to have a slightly updated model of your charger that I received from my last Hyperion battery purchase. Stil dog slow @ 350mA±50mA, though. HTH.
Mine recharges from about 10% to full in about 6 to 8 hours in the phone.
MD4 stock rooted odexed, modded
According to the instruction from ZL, they advise us to charge the battery with original charger. Do you think it's not good for the battery to be charged with external charger which is not original?

Can you charge the ZL 7000mah with the charger in the image you attached? Where can we find a USB 5.0V so that the output can be 800mA? or is it just the normal usb cable like the cable from the original charger?

Zero lemon sells an external charger for extended batteries, as does Anker. Beware- the chargers look the same, but the Anker will not charge the ZL7000 / Anker7200 past 88%.
The ZL extended charger-
Charges via USB or installed in charger.
The ext charger is slower (600mah) then via the USB. 1000mah.
It takes 12hrs to charge battery on charger, and only 8 hrs via usb to phone.
If I've helped you, hit thanks!

It depends entirely on the output of the charger used.
I have the ZL external charger and it offers two charging options. With the battery on the charger, the output is only 600Mah taking roughly 12-13 hrs. If you use the usb cord and charge the battery in the phone, the charger output is 1000mah taking roughly 7-8 hrs.
Hit thanks, if I've helped you.

Sure. Brand new phone just purchased. Very few programs installed. Battery used was purchased off eBay. When indicator light showed fully charged I unplugged. Battery remaining went immediately from 100% to 88%. After 6 hours of light use, battery was already down to 40%. Within 20 minutes it fell off the cliff and phone turned off ... basically fully discharged.
Next, stock battery installed. 1 day 12 hours later battery still shows 55% remaining.

In that case I'd recommend Monster ZeroLemon 7000 MAh again.People here on XDA have really tried to suck every drop of juice out of it. It had stood all that abuse very well. Buy it from Amazon so you have solid Return Policy in case of trouble.

Thanks, I'll seriously consider it though the added thickness is a concern. If I could get 2 extra batteries close to the performance of the stock battery and at a combined price close to the ZeroLemon I would be satisfied.
How long does it typically take to charge one of those monsters?

I don't think their form factor would have issues with the SIII's casing.
I do believe they take roughly 4 hours or so with Samsung's original Charger. I don't have one myself so I have second hand information. It is true that if you have a Fast Charge Kernel, this is further reduced. I am guessing, if you charge off of a PC, of course it will practically take forever to finish
My 1 year old stock battery goes me 3 days if on Standby all the time.It will last 1 & 1/2 to 2 days if I use conservatively.
Just fyi, fast charge kernels only make a difference when plugged into a PC and maybe a DC (car) outlet. And correct that the batteries should be the same size and ought to work fine. Only real thing to make note of is if you use any NFC features make sure the battery you get has this capability.

Bit OT here, but my regular Kernel KT747, now (in recent version) has special code for the 11th pin of the MHT port. So I am given to understand the Fast Charge thus implemented actually affects the way it charges off wall. I am testing since yesterday.
The theory behind fast charge kernels is that when you plug into a PC it detects the data connection and limits charging to 500ma or so. Fast charge kernels allow you to disable the data connection, thereby fooling it into thinking it's plugged into a normal charger and bypassing that limit.
The extra pins don't have anything to do with charging. Only 4 of them do. Before fast charge kernels were introduced people would sometimes short two of the wires in the connector (usually with solder) to accomplish the same thing.
As I understand it the 11 pins are just used with the MHL adapter for HD output. They don't have anything to do with charging. Otherwise a basic USB cable probably wouldn't even work.
I believe there are a few in depth write-ups about fast charge kernels here on xda if you want to search for more info on it.
