Hey folks,
I rooted my GS3 right after I got it and everything has been functioning fine. I actually like the stock ROM so I have stuck with it and just removed the bloat. Recently an OTA update was released and I followed an article on putting my updater back to stock to receive the OTA update. I tried updating but it was unable to complete. Now when I go into software updates there is an option that says "continue update" that is grayed out. Is there a workaround to this or do I need to flash back to stock, receive the new update and reroot? If that's the case a link to a walk through would be appreciated. Thanks
anyone?
I was able to get to 4.1 successfully with kies this morning
Hi, i am currently on ICS. I wanted a mod for my camera and me not knowing much about android accidentally flashed a Jelly Bean file to my ICS. This made my camera not work. I want to update to Jelly Bean and be able to use my camera hopefully and use the new features of Jelly Bean. I thought i was up to date at the time because on my phone when i check for updates it says i am. But i went into Kies and it said otherwise. I did the update through kies and basically it downloaded the update and stuff it put my phone into recovery mode and said it was updating my phone but it stayed on 0% for about 30 minutes so i quit. My question is did i quit too early or is it because my camera files are messed up or is it because i'm rooted? or what? here is my thread about my camera and trying to figure that out which i still never solved but i'd like to be on Jelly Bean and with a working camera: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2035939

I have stock note verizion.
Recently OTA update to 4.4.2
It borked my apps, which I found out Goog changed app permissions . This is the second time Goog has made an update that did that.
Goal, revert to base original or previous kernel so I can root.
Read 4.4.2 is unrootable.
Turned on devoloper mode and usb debugging, success
wiped phone to stock and reinstalled Kies from google cloud success.(kies not in google store. Someone can tell me how to package it and post it from my phone I will after I get root)
Tried kies update, fail
Tried update from sd card , failed
Tried lambda, failed
Tried Odin 3 update failed,
Any ideas on just rooting,
Or am I not doing something correct.
Thanks in advance.
