i have a sprint note 2 and had Macks Rom 4.0 so i unrooted my phone cause kept getting the OTA update so i can update and also install Macks allstar rom which i did but notice that with Macks rom i didnt have the notification slide down feature and also when long pressed the home button to kill my running apps that didnt work either so went to unroot again to just keep stock unroot and thats when i got the firmware update incountered an issue.. to try KIES . i tried odin3 but it fails. every time i turn one my phone its the same issue.Can anyone Help? Plz..

Hey everyone,
So two night ago I received a notification on my GS3 saying a new update was out.
When I tried installing the update it rebooted into recovery and failed at 24%....weird. I was running Rogers stock rom and recovery at the time so this shouldn't have happened, and I would like to know why for future reference.
I also tried updating via samsung kies. But when I tried this, it said my device wasn't compatible to update via kies????
So I ended up download the LK4 update off sammobile website and installed it using odin.
Anyways, I now have the new update installed. I've noticed two weird things:
1. When I go to about phone in settings and go into software update, it shows a screen "checking for software updates..." and doesn't go away unless I press back or home button. Why can't I search for new updates????
2. My google now voice isn't working. It recognizes what I say to it but when it gives the flashcard response, it doesn't talk back like it normally does. I have it set to English US, and yes my media volume is up at full volume.
Anyways I'm a little frustrated at this point. I can't figure out how to fix these problems so any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks
since updating to 4.2.2 Liquid rom i am unable to downgrade to any version below that without my phone switching off after 5 secs and me having to reboot back in..
any idea?? seems like by upgrading to 4.2.2 something has been upgraded and anything below that, even 4.2.1 just refuses to work and switches itself off.
and doing it through odin with stock rom even fails to stop the phone switching off..it installs fine and then proceeds to promptly switch off, but the minute I put the custom 4.2.2 rom back on...its fine again and doesnt switch off, which makes me think something has been upgraded along the way and anything other than 4.2.2 now will not work correctly on my phone..
How can i get back down to 4.2.1 etc.. is it baseband or something? This makes me think that all others on here with their phones switching off have potentially done the same thing as me? If you have any feedback is welcome...
Also if you managed to fix your shutting down after 5 secs and having to reboot issue issue I would love to know how this was achieved
any help is greatly appreciated as always
Do a mega wipe. Then flash stock rom.

I currently have the stock rom for the UK 4.1.1

so even though I can install this it still switches itself off after 5 secs and I have to reboot.. i am now at my wits end and will try anything to get my phone back to stock and actually working...

My screen does not come back if i am talking with someone via phone app, viber or kakaotalk.
Its a big problem for me now because if i call someone and talking, and if i have to search a number from contacts while talking i cant see the screen. so i can not turn off my phone. screen just doesnt come back. i see the sensor is working. I did wipe and factory reset but its still same.
Is it a known bug?
I do not have root. Stock samsung rom.

I think there's options in settings under screen. Have the same ROM but no issues at all (touchwood! ).

download the stock rom from sammobile or find any thread with link to stock 4.1.2 and flash via odin it seems that something has went wrong while updating via kies so it better to use odin n get the latest stock rom u can even find pre rooted stick rom in dr.ketan thread

thanks guys, i sold my note 2 and bought xperia z. got 4.2.2 update. very happy with this now. sony widgets and sony apps are really good and i dont have to wait for updates too long!
my wife's sgs3 just upgraded to 4.1.2 and mine is not able to...
it downloaded the update to 100% then the updater just quit.
I keep trying now and it keeps saying download interrupted.
any help? is there a manual way to update it???
I upgraded to kitkat through OTA update and it screwed my tablet up. It kept freezing and restarting by itself all the time to the point it was useless. I did a factory reset and couldn't get it past the boot screen and if it did it froze seconds after getting to the home screen. I called Customer service and told them I was having issues because of the update and they said I could send it in for $99 and they would repair it....... yeah right. So I decided to root it, I used Odin 3.7 and twrp then flashed it with nolekat I thought I had it fixed but it started doing the same thing again I am feed up with 4.4.2 and want to go back to 4.2.2 where I had no issues I cant find a clean stock rom for the 210R and was wanting to know if someone could point me in the right direction. Thanks
